This file contains data on B.O.W.'s, new species of life-forms created via virus infection caused by the T-Virus outbreak accidents that occurred at the U.S. Arklay Laboratory on May 11, 1998, and the massive biohazard that occurred in Raccoon City about four months later.
B.O.W. File 1 [ZOMBIE]
Humans infected with the T-Virus. They lose reason as human beings and are driven by instinct, particularly hunger, and always wander in search of human flesh.
◎ Strategic Response: Since their movement is slow, they can be easily defeated by sniping from a distance.
B.O.W. File 2 [CERBERUS]
Dogs infected with the T-Virus. Since its body is less decayed compared with the human Zombie, it attacks with agile movement. It is sensitive to sound and may run and attack if it hears noise from a distance.
◎ Strategic Response: Although a handgun is sufficient to deal with this monster, it moves fast so is difficult to aim at.
B.O.W. File 3 [LICKER]
A human who turned into a Zombie was further eroded by the T-Virus, resulting in a mutation. It gained distinctive features of walking on all fours and an exposed brain from this mutation. Compared to the Zombie, it has dramatically improved instantaneous power, and instead of having visual organs, it has an abnormally developed sense of hearing.
◎ Strategic Response: Be cautious when attacking it with firearms as it reacts to sound. It is also sensitive to the sound of footsteps, so it is dangerous to run recklessly.
B.O.W. File 4 [IVY]
A plant-based B.O.W. By absorbing vapors from the surface of its body, it is capable of walking independently. Be cautious of its whip-like tentacle attacks.
◎ Strategic Response: Since it is weak to fire, a grenade launcher loaded with flame rounds is effective.
B.O.W. File 5 [HUNTER]
A B.O.W. created by manipulating human DNA with the T-Virus. It has enhanced muscular strength, particularly in its lower body, and leaps high when about to attack.
◎ Strategic Response: Right before it pounces on prey, there is a moment when its agile movement ceases for an instant. It is best to attack in that moment.
B.O.W. File 6 [TYRANT]
The ultimate form of a T-Virus B.O.W., created by our company using all its might. Based on the Tyrant, our European branch have also developed a more ferocious so-called "Enhanced Tyrant" as well as the commonly named "Pursuer" that is parasitized by an intelligent organism.
◎ Strategic Response: There is nothing to match this tough defensive and destructive power.
B.O.W. File 7 [ ]
Though it has not yet been completed, it is theoretically possible to mass-produce an even more ferocious B.O.W. by administering a certain substance in large quantities during the Tyrant's gene culture.
However the problem is...

このファイルは1998年5月11日を発端とするアメリカ・アークレイ研究所において発生した"Tウィルス"の流出事故及びその約4ヶ月後ラクーンシティにおいて発生した大規模な、バイオハザードによって誕生したウィルス感染による新種の生命体・B.O.W.のデータである。なお未確認ながらここに記した以外にもB.O.W.は複数存在していたと思われる。それらについてはデータが揃い次第ファイルに記載するものとする。
B.O.W.ファイル1[ゾンビ]
Tウィルスを感染させた人間。人間としての理性を失い本能、特に食欲に突き動かされ常に人肉を求めて彷徨い歩く。
◎対処法：動きは遅いので離れた場所からの狙撃により簡単に倒す事ができる。
B.O.W.ファイル2[ケルベロス]
Tウィルスを感染させた犬。人間のゾンビに比べ肉体の腐食化はあまり進んでいないので俊敏な動きで襲ってくる。物音に敏感で走る音を聞きつけて遠くから襲いかかってくる事がある。
◎対処法：ハンドガンで十分対処できるモンスターではあるが動きが速く照準を合わせる事が困難である。
B.O.W.ファイル3[リッカー]
ゾンビとなった人間が更にTウィルスに侵食され突然変異を起こし生まれた。変形に伴い四足歩行や脳の露出という際立った特徴を持つに至る。ゾンビに比べ瞬発力が飛躍的に向上し視覚器官を持たない代りに聴覚が異常発達している。
◎対処法：音に反応し襲ってくるので、銃攻撃での攻撃は注意を要する。また、足音にも敏感に反応するので無闇に走ると危険である。
B.O.W.ファイル4[イビー]
植物をベースにしたB.O.W.。体表から水蒸気を摂取することで自立歩行を可能にした。ムチのような触手攻撃に注意されたし。
◎対処法：火に弱いので、火炎弾を装填したグレネードランチャーが有効。
B.O.W.ファイル5[ハンター]
人間をTウィルスでDNA操作して作り上げたB.O.W.。特に下半身の筋力が高められており、高くジャンプして攻撃をしかけてくる。
◎対処法：獲物に飛びかかる直前に一瞬ではあるがその俊敏な動きが止まる瞬間がある。そこを狙って攻撃するのが最良だろう。

わが社が総力をあげて創りあげたTウィルスB.O.W.の究極形態。更にタイラントをベースに、より凶暴化させた通称「タイラント改」および知的生物を寄生させた通称「追跡者」がヨーロッパ支部で開発された。
◎対処法：この強靭な防御力と破壊力に対しては何の手立ても無いに等しい。
B.O.W.ファイル7[ ]
まだ完成には至っていないが、理論上はタイラントの遺伝子培養時に、ある物質を投与することで、更に凶暴なるB.O.W.を大量に生産することが可能である。

This file contains the data for the BOWs created by the virus contamination that occurred during the biohazards.
The first biohazard was caused by the T-virus leak at Arkley Laboratory on May 11, 1998. The second was the large-scale
biohazard at Raccoon City which happened 4 months later. Although they have not been confirmed yet, not that there may be BOWs other than the ones listed below. The data for those will be filed when it is ready.
B.O.W. FILE #1: Zombie:
Humans who are contaminated by the T-virus. They have lost their consciousness, and wander around on their instinct and
appetite to satisfy their hunger for human flesh.
Tactical procedure:
As their movements are slow, they can be easily eliminated if you keep enough distance to snipe.
B.O.W. FILE #2: Cerberus
Dogs which are contaminated by the T-virus. Their bodies have not rotted as much as that of the zombies, so they can move much faster. They are very sensitive to noise. If they hear you run, they will pursue and attack you.
Tactical procedure:
You can eliminate them with a hand gun, but since they are fast, it may be difficult to aim.
B.O.W. FILE #3: Licker
They are created by a mutation that occurs when a zombie is contaminated by the T-virus. As a result of the transformation
process, they have conspicuous features like exposed brain tissue, and they move around on all four legs. Compared to the zombies, they possess incredible agility.
They have no eyes, and are unable to see. Instead, they have an abnormally evolved sense of hearing.
Tactical procedure:
As they attack in reponse to sound, you should be careful when firing at them. Since they are very keen to hearing footsteps,
you should avoid running when they are around.
B.O.W. FILE #4: Ivy
B.O.W.s which are created from plants. They can move on their own will by using vapors inhaled through their skin. Watch out for their tentacles which are used like whips.
Tactical procedure:
As fire is lethal to them, a grenade launcher is a very effective weapon.
B.O.W. FILE #5: Hunter
B.O.W. that is created when the T-virus contaminates the human DNA. Since their lower body muscles have been enhanced,
they can jump incredibly high and attack enemies with razor-sharp claws.
Tactical procedure:
Just before they jump at an enemy, they stop their movement momentarily. You should attack during this time.
B.O.W. FILE #6: Tyrant
The ultimate result of our B.O.W. project with the T-virus. Based on the regular Tyrant, the more ferocious "Enhanced Tyrant" and "Nemesis" which is even more aggressive and intelligent, were created at our Eurpoean branch.
Tactical procedure:
There are virtually no countermeasures against Tyrants' incredible power.
B.O.W. FILE #7: Prototype
They are not yet complete, but logically speaking, we can create and mass produce more ferocious B.O.W.s by adding certain materials during the process of cultivating Tyrant's genes.
