S.T.A.R.S. SEARCH PATROL HELICOPTER MISSING
According to an announcement by a spokesperson of the Raccoon Police Department, the search helicopter carrying the Bravo Team of the special mission unit belonging to the Raccoon City police force, or more accurately S.T.A.R.S., disappeared today on the morning of the 24th after they departed to search for answers regarding the recent bizarre murders surrounding Arklay.
Although they were dispatched to conduct a field investigation of Raccoon Forest in the Arklay Mountains, their final communication was said to have cut-off as of last night.
The police suspect a high possibility of them being caught up in some kind of trouble, and in addition to seeking witness testimony assessments, they plan to dispatch S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team this evening.
The Raccoon suburbs have recently seen numerous reports concerning increasingly frequent bizarre murder cases and similar topics, making this incident likely to lead to a panic among the local citizens.

MONSTER
Zombie (p.026-027)
A human who has become a monster after their genetic structure has been altered under the influence of the t-Virus. The virus is active within the monster, which spreads the virus over a wider range by attacking uninfected people.
Crimson Head (p.028)
A state where Zombies resume activity with ferocity and high speed due to cellular activation after the Zombies cease activity upon incapacitation. Since its genetic structure is also altered yet again, it's better to think of it as a different monster. However, there's no solid consistency in the time it takes to restart activity. When attacking, it's more likely to use its claws than bites.
Cerberus (p.029)
A biological weapon (B.O.W.) produced by administering the t-Virus to military dogs. It's superior in agility with long-distance high-speed movement and cooperation within a pack.
Monster Plants (p.030)
Plants mutated by secondary infection of the t-Virus. Although plants tend to be considered unsuitable for spreading viruses because they cannot move themselves, long-term contamination expansion by pollen has more effects on animals.
Crow
A crow infected with the t-Virus which became violent via secondary infection due to the accidental outbreak of the virus. Although it occurred irregularly, if the t-Virus was actually used as a weapon, being spread by such secondary infection would be quite deadly.
Crimson Head Prototype 1 (p.030)
Administered with an experimental prototype t-Virus variant. Afterwards, it was frozen alive in order to analyze the results for combat abilities, then the variant was cultured and produced. Further details are unknown as analysis hasn't been completed.
Adder (p.031)
A snake that became more aggressive by secondary infection of the virus. It combines the effect of the hemorrhagic poison which it had originally, and the virus infection.
Wasp (p.032)
A bee enlarged by secondary infection from pollen of a virus-infected plant. Because the origin's an insect, the attack power by secondary infection is low, but there's a possibility of a large biological outbreak and the potential for contamination's high.
Web Spinner (p.033)
A bioweapon (B.O.W) created by experiments in t-Virus administration and genetic manipulation based on spiders. By being able to move in unusual areas such as walls and ceilings, virus infection possibilities can be expanded to hidden areas.
Yawn (p.034)
Based on a t-Virus administration experiment and genetic manipulation, it created a monster. Because the plan was interrupted due to a virus outbreak accident while researching it as a weapon was in progress, details such as attack ability are unknown.
Lisa Trevor (p.035)
Before the t-Virus was developed, researchers administered the Progenitor Virus, which later became the base virus. She absorbed the prototype parasite in the middle of an experiment and has properties different from other test subjects. Later on she became the test subject who triggered the discovery of the G-Virus discovery, and was abandoned after sample extraction. Combat abilities are unknown.
Neptune (p.036)
A Bio Organic Weapon (B.O.W.) created out of experiments and genetic manipulation based on sharks. Marine bioweapons have low military effectiveness, but it's studied for virus experiments on genes different from those of terrestrial organisms. Therefore details such as combat ability underwater as weapons are unknown.
Plant 42 (p.037)
Its ability to contaminate areas via its pollen's unimaginable. Considering it was created from the accidental outbreak, its combat abilities are unknown and as such the prospect of reproduction as a weapon's uncertain.
Hunter (p.038)
This humanoid B.O.W.'s reinforced and remodeled by adding the genetic information of other organisms along with genetic structure alterations by the virus. It was devised to invalidate defensive measures such as anti-viral weapons and equipment.
Black Tiger (p.039)
A mutant Web Spinner. It's unknown why only this individual has become large since experiment data's scarce. Its performance as a weapon is yet to be investigated.
Chimera (p.040)
Created based on humans via genetic alteration with the t-Virus and incorporating the genetic information of other organisms, just like the Hunter. It combines the aggressiveness of the Hunter with the special mobility of the Web Spinner.
Tyrant (p.041)
The completed form of a combat-purposed bioweapon (B.O.W.) with the t-Virus. Can follow programmed instructions like a solider. Although it harbors the potential to fundamentally change the concept of war, in order to collect data, it's necessary to conduct a large-scale practical test, so its abilities are unknown at this time.

S.T.A.R.S. -Organizational Summary of Special Mission Unit S.T.A.R.S.- (p.210)
It was the Raccoon City Police's special forces unit S.T.A.R.S. that got involved with the case. Here we talk about the troops and the outline of the Mansion Incident.
HISTORY OF S.T.A.R.S.' ESTABLISHMENT
In 1996, the Racoon Police Department decided to set up a special operations unit for crime prevention within the police force, in order to cope with urban terrorism and increasingly diversifying crimes, the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.) was formed including twelve specialists in every field.
There were also sponsors from local leading companies who sponsored S.T.A.R.S., which had advanced training and equipment, and they officially launched about a year later in December 1997. In addition, it was the pharmaceutical company Umbrella that became the leading organization among their sponsors.

Overview of The Mansion Incident (p.210-213)
The Mansion Incident began on May 11th 1998. While studying the t-Virus an accident occurred and the Mansion Incident took place. The cause of the outbreak's unknown, but this caused a biohazard and unleashed creatures throughout the mansion (including humans). It seems the influence of the infection gradually eroded over about one month in spite of its sudden appearance. However, in the meantime Umbrella hasn't reported anything and there's no doubt the company's suspected to have hid the truth surrounding the incident. As a result, the occurrence and response of the incident were significantly delayed, amounting to many victims.
The Raccoon City Police's involvement came about two months after the incident. The Racoon City Police finally decided to deploy S.T.A.R.S. due to the recent bizarre murder cases. In reality however, S.T.A.R.S.' involvement was officially issued on July 24th, two weeks later.
1998
May 11th - A large-scale virus outbreak occurred in the mansion owned by the Umbrella Corporation in the Arklay Mountains. It infected facility workers, researchers and the surrounding ecosystem.
May 20th - The corpse of a young woman's found on the bank of the Marble River of Raccoon City. The damage suffered to the body was extremely severe, and there appeared to be teeth markings and scratches all over the body. Also, it was estimated that the corpse flowed downstream from the Arklay Mountains.
June 16th - Local paper Raccoon Weekly posts an article titled "Dog-Shaped Monsters Found In Arklay Mountains." Even eyewitness reports were consistently making the news.
July 9th - Many citizens become distressed and more reports of missing persons come in from the Arklay Mountains. On the same day, the Raccoon City Police closes the mountains and decides to investigate the matter by setting their special mission unit S.T.A.R.S. on the task.
July 21st - Prior to dispatching S.T.A.R.S., Umbrella Corp. will destroy the laboratory facilities in the Arklay Mountains and move their base to the Raccoon City Underground Laboratory.
July 24th - The S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team disappeared after setting out to Arklay to investigate the cases. On that same night, Alpha Team is dispatched to search for Bravo Team.
July 25th - S.T.A.R.S. return home with a significant number of casualties. Only a small number of officers return.

Umbrella (p.212-213)
The Arklay Laboratory became the site of the Mansion incident. Here, we'll touch upon the rough structure of the laboratory and personnel etc. involved.
CONCERNING FACILITIES INSIDE THE MANSION & OTHER AREAS
The Mansion's divided into four areas: the main house, a dormitory, a laboratory and the courtyard. The Mansion building has several floors, the second floor, first floor and underground. It's littered with art objects such as various sculptures and paintings, even a tiger statue. There seems to be no signs of life, and since the areas are so sparse, it's easy to imagine this as a "giant trap" to eliminate or kill intruders.
Outside the mansion includes a courtyard, a dormitory which is accommodation for researchers staying overnight, as well as a huge aquarium in its basement. Also, when passing through the same courtyard used to access the dormitory, there's a hidden entrance to the true purpose of this mansion's existence, six lab facilities, four of which are underground, and all of which are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and high security measures that can't be compared to any other place regarding how strict access was.
