-LEON SIDE- (p.015-021)
SUSPICION
Tall Oaks, a city in the United States of America.
In the quiet city of current President Adam Benford's alma mater, Ivy University, the President planned a significant speech.
Bioterrorism that strips away not only life but also human dignity was now being carried out with an air of nonchalance.
That first incident that happened in the US--- Here, the truth of Raccoon City's elimination was about to be revealed.
BULLET OF RESOLVE
It has been a decade since the incident in Raccoon City.
Having completed a number of missions and currently a member of the presidential agent organization "DSO", Leon S. Kennedy has now become a remarkable agent trusted by the government.
Participating in the lecture at Tall Oaks as a friend of the President and a witness to the Raccoon Incident, Leon meets the President in an altered form.
A friend, who as an agent he must protect, has become a living corpse preparing to attack someone...
Leon turns his gun.
RESOLVE TO CONFESS
American agent Helena Harper was seconded to the USSS (United States Secret Service) for the President's visit to Tall Oaks and served as part of the presidential guard.
On the day of the lecture, a bioterror attack occurred.
Along with Leon, who noticed the incident, Helena headed to the President's room, meeting the President in a now dreadful state.
But Helena wasn't shocked.
Nothing else led to this...
Helena decides to confess the crime she committed against Leon, who's pressing to control the situation.
TO THE DEPTHS OF DARKNESS
In order to escape from Tall Oaks where a biohazard has occurred, Leon and Helena travel through the city surrounded by the darkness of night.
The lights and streetlamps have almost gone out and unknown situations hide behind every corner, stirring a sense of fear.
There are a number of devices in the facilities they're heading to, so they need to carefully explore their surroundings in order to advance.
Even in a desolate place they cannot relax.
If they can't deal with the creatures or accidents that suddenly appear, only death awaits them there.
A NEVER-ENDING NIGHTMARE
Tall Oaks is a city full of Zombies regardless of area.
The relentless number of Zombies attack Leon and Helena, who only have defensive weapons.
Moreover, these Zombies move swiftly and have weapons in hand, so it isn't easy to avoid combat.
As one misfortune follows another, the nightmare continues...
B.O.W.'s much stronger than Zombies, and suspected of assassinating the President by presidential advisor Simmons.
Is there still some way for Leon to survive?
LEON'S PERSONAL HISTORY
Raccoon Incident
1998, the day of his arrival in Raccoon City. Leon was embroiled in the biohazard that occurred in the city and worked together with Chris' sister, Claire, to escape from the city. Along the way he met Dr. William's daughter Sherry and a mysterious woman, Ada. Leon and Ada were attracted to each other as they worked together, but Ada lost her life in order to protect Leon from the B.O.W. "Tyrant" released by Umbrella.
Leon succeeded in escaping with Claire and Sherry and decided to become an agent after being approached by the government. All to destroy Umbrella, which took the life of a woman he held dear. ("BIOHAZARD 2")
Operation Javier
In 2002, having received a report that the drug lord Javier Hidalgo had contacted a former Umbrella researcher, Leon was teamed with Krauser of the U.S. Army to visit a village in South America. In the process, Leon rescued Javier's daughter Manuela who had a virus in her body, and they went to Javier's fortress with her. Javier became a massive creature and was defeated by Leon, while Manuela was safeguarded under the observation measures of the U.S. Government.
After being injured during the operation, Krauser left the army and vanished. Leon, on the other hand, decided to keep fighting against bioterrorism. ("BIOHAZARD THE DARKSIDE CHRONICLES")
President's Daughter Abduction Incident
Six years since the Raccoon Incident. An incident occurred in which the President's daughter Ashley was abducted and Leon investigated in secret. With the help of Hunnigan at headquarters, Leon proceeded with the investigation in a village. However, the investigation ran into difficulties due to the interference of the Los Iluminados, the masterminds of the incident, as well as the residents who had been implanted with a parasite, the "Plaga", at the cult's hands.
It was Ada, who should've been dead, that saved him. Cooperating with her, he put an end to Krauser, now an enemy, and the cult leader Saddler, then successfully rescued Ashley. However, Ada snatched a Plaga sample from Leon and disappeared once again. ("biohazard 4")
WilPharma's Recklessness
In 2005, Leon was dispatched to investigate a biohazard in Harvardville and entered the source, an airport, with Angela and other members of the special mission unit SRT. They rescued survivors that included Claire.
The mastermind of this biohazard was chief researcher Frederic of the pharmaceutical company WilPharma. Angela's older brother Curtis injected himself with the "G-Virus" and transformed into a monster, appearing in front of Leon whom he'd lured to the research facility. Leon staved off Curtis and arrested Frederic while he was about to sell experimental data. With this achievement, Leon gained more of the government's trust. ("biohazard DEGENERATION")

DESPERATE
Bioterrorism occurred in Lanshiang, China.
As soon as the news came in, the United Nations anti-bioterror unit BSAA received a dispatch request to suppress the terrorism.
The forces of the Far East Branch initially responded, but the bioterror's scale was larger than expected and a new species of B.O.W. appeared.
In order to bring the situation under control, the BSAA in various regions were also called in, including the North America Branch.
The North America Branch, which the hero Chris Redfield who had suppressed many bioterror attacks belongs to... or was meant to.
RETURN TO THE BATTLEFIELD
At a bar in Eastern Europe, a man drowns himself in liquor...
Chris Redfield, a man with a tough body, was a "hero" who served as a Captain in the BSAA and faced bioterrorism.
However, an event in a certain mission led him to lose his memory in the face of being cornered.
Appearing before Chris while he merely drinks is his BSAA subordinate, Piers.
He appears deplorable, but after receiving a severe scolding from said younger comrade, he makes the decision to return to the unit.
Their destination's Lanshiang, China where a bioterror attack has occurred.
To regain his lost memory, the hero returns to the battlefield.
LONGING FOR A HERO
A large-scale bioterror incident occurred in Lanshiang, China.
To resolve it, a dispatch request was also issued to the BSAA North America Branch.
Piers Nivans, a member of the team expected to be a future ace, flew to Eastern Europe in order to recall the reclusive Captain Chris, who'd lost his memory.
What happened in their previous mission wasn't the Captain's fault.
But he couldn't forgive himself, escaping into alcohol to forget everything.
Above all, he didn't want to see a hero he respected above all in such a miserable state...
Chris returned to the BSAA in response to Piers' desperate persuasion.
As they disembark on the battlefield, it appears Chris' memories have yet to return, but Piers is convinced he'll surely regain his former hero.
IN A LAND OF DEATH
The land of Lanshiang, China where the bioterror incident occurred was still in a bizarre state where civilians and television stations were roaming around despite gunshots and roaring sounds all around.
In this chaotic city, Chris and his comrades press forward in order to rescue UN dignitaries.
The identity of the foe appearing in Lanshiang was a new species of B.O.W. called "J'avo", discovered half a year ago in Eastern Europe.
Adept in handling weapons and possessing the ability to regenerate, the J'avo aren't a foe that flinches against the anti-bioterror specialists of the BSAA.
PUSHING DESPAIR ASIDE
The most significant feature of the J'avo is that mutations are caused in the process of regenerating wounds.
One by one, BSAA members fall in battle with the J'avo's changing into unexpected forms.
He might lose his subordinates once again...
That despair reminds Chris of the trauma six months ago.
Fighting against countless J'avo and an invisible B.O.W., will Chris be able to regain his memory and end the despair?
CHRIS'S PERSONAL HISTORY
Mansion Incident
In 1998, Chris and Jill were officers of the special mission unit S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team in the Raccoon Police Department, and while searching for the missing Bravo Team, they entered an old mansion. In the midst of his investigation, Chris learned about Umbrella's conspiracy, the "t-Virus", the connection between Umbrella and S.T.A.R.S. Captain Wesker. Chris and his comrades staved off the Tyrant and other foes released by Wesker and succeeded in escaping the mansion.
Afterwards, Chris reported the t-Virus and Umbrella conspiracy to the top brass, but the facts were buried in the dark. Even so, he couldn't forgive Umbrella and resolved to pursue his own investigation. ("biohazard")
Fate With Wesker
In response to a message that his sister Claire had been captured by Umbrella, Chris set out to Rockfort Island in order to save her. But who he saw there was Wesker, who should've been dead. In pursuit of his mortal enemy, who told him Claire was in Antarctica as he vanished, Chris left for the Antarctic. At the Antarctic facility, he confronted Alexia, an Umbrella researcher who became a monster under the influence of "t-Veronica." Having saved Claire and staved off Alexia, Wesker stood in Chris' way once more as they tried to escape from the facility. Although Chris was no match against Wesker, who'd gained overwhelming power, he was able to escape, saved by the explosions in the facility. ("BIOHAZARD CODE:Veronica")
-JAKE SIDE- (p.031-037)
GETAWAY
A newly documented virus bearing the name of "C", those affected by this virus are said to be transformed into a demonic appearance.
If the C-Virus is used in bioterrorism, a hell engulfed with devils will be created.
That alone had to be prevented.
The answer conceived by the US Government as a countermeasure was to safeguard an individual resistant to the virus.
A presidential advisor entrusts this important mission to a young agent.
THE INHERITOR OF TABOO BLOOD
Eastern Europe, Republic of Edonia, where a civil war between the government and rebels burns on.
Jake Muller, a mercenary employed by the anti-government forces, injects himself with a nutritional drug handed to him by a mysterious woman.
He feels no particular change... the other mercenaries who thought to inject the nutritional drug begin to act berserk.
A woman named Sherry appears in front of Jake after evading the violent mercenaries.
According to Sherry, the "C-Virus" is the cause of the frenzy and Jake is a necessity to save the world from this menace.
It's an unexpected story, but if true, it'd be profitable.
Subject to a significant reward, Jake decides to accompany Sherry.
But he had no idea. The "blood" flowing within him was passed on from Albert Wesker.
THE PERSON LEADING HOPE
In 1998, a biohazard occurred in Raccoon City.
A girl left behind in the city, Sherry Birkin, escaped from the city-turned-hell with Leon's help.
However, her father embedded an embryo in her body... Due to the power of "G", she was placed under US observation.
Some years later, Sherry was released from her house arrest on the condition she become a US agent.
Beginning a path as an agent, she was issued an order to protect Jake Muller, a man with "special blood."
Sherry superimposes her past onto Jake.
She doesn't want others to be like her...
With that thought in mind, she rushes to Eastern Europe, and the Republic of Edonia.
JOURNEY TO SALVATION
Jake and Sherry aim to reach America.
In order to do so, they must escape the Republic of Edonia, but Edonia has now become one of the world's most intense battlefields where the BSAA has been dispatched to neutralize B.O.W.'s.
Jake and Sherry aren't well-armed but together they have powers hidden within their bodies which exceed the limits of ordinary people.
The duo demonstrate their exemplary physical capabilities and open up a means of escape.
But a huge shadow approaches behind them.
THE HUNTER & THE HUNTED
An individual persistently pursues Jake and Sherry.
It was the giant B.O.W. "Ustanak" with a mechanical arm.
It's unknown who released Ustanak.
However, rather than capture, its purpose appears to be to kill.
Unaware of why they're being chased, Jake and Sherry keep fleeing as Ustanak gets up even when defeated and pursues them intently.
Where will the hunter and hunted end up at the end of this getaway drama about the fate of the world...?
JAKE'S FATHER'S PERSONAL HISTORY
The Man Named Albert Wesker
Jake's believed to be related by blood to Albert Wesker, a scientist who specialized in bio-engineering. After being engaged in t-Virus research at the Umbrella Arklay Laboratory, he was inaugurated as Captain of S.T.A.R.S., the special mission unit of the Raccoon Police Department. Wesker received a secret order to make Chris and the other members fight B.O.W.'s and collect data, but in the background, he pushed ahead a plan to switch sides to an opposing organization of Umbrella. Although it seemed he was killed by the Tyrant B.O.W., in reality, he was revived due to the power of a virus he injected just before dying, and he defected to the opposing organization. ("biohazard")
Wesker With Overwhelming Power
Two months after the Mansion Incident, Wesker carried out a plan to retrieve the G-Virus developed by his former colleague William. He had Ada infiltrate Raccoon City and successfully recovered the virus. ("BIOHAZARD 2")
Additionally, he wasn't satisfied with just the G-Virus and attacked Rockfort Island to obtain t-Veronica developed by Umbrella researcher Alexia. There he met Chris again and displayed overwhelming power surpassing mankind. Although he failed to kill Chris, he succeeded in his original objective to acquire the virus. Afterwards, he continued to maneuver covertly in incidents related to the theft of B.O.W.'s or viruses. ("BIOHAZARD CODE:Veronica")
Wesker's Ambition and Final Moments
Wesker schemed to seize the "Plaga" parasite that freely manipulates hosts and dispatched Ada and Krauser to Europe. Despite Ada's betrayal, he succeeded in acquiring a sample. ("biohazard 4")
Afterwards, Wesker murdered Umbrella's leader, Spencer. Taking over Spencer's plan to become a god through evolving humanity by using a virus, he implemented the "Uroboros Project." Since he suffered interference from Chris and the BSAA, he absorbed the "Uroboros Virus" to strengthen himself. He challenged Chris to a final battle and lost, vanishing in lava. ("BIOHAZARD 5")
SHERRY'S PERSONAL HISTORY
1998, Raccoon City. Sherry, the daughter of G-Virus developer Dr. William, was hiding herself from the Zombie hordes in the Raccoon City police station. Sherry was protected by Leon and Chris' younger sister Claire who appeared there, and they escaped from Raccoon City together. But in the midst of their escape, her father William, who had injected himself with the G-Virus and became G, implanted a G-Virus embryo in her body. Claire administered a vaccine and they barely managed to escape Raccoon City, but she harbored the embryo in her body and was placed under house arrest by the United States government in the name of protection.

SPYING
Bioterror's a man-made disaster.
It doesn't occur naturally, it's something that's carefully planned and implemented by someone with will and purpose.
Eastern Europe, China, America...
The bioterror attacks occurring like a chain reaction all over the world must have some will and purpose.
Schemed entirely in the dark, covertly maneuvering...
HIDDEN TRUTH
A woman who used to be a spy in Umbrella's opposing organization.
She's been behind-the-scenes of many biohazards and gathered information useful to the organization.
In 2013, the name of an organization known as "Neo Umbrella" has begun to be whispered around the woman.
She was also involved in the appearance of the J'avo in the Republic of Edonia, Eastern Europe.
Although she's rumored to be connected to Neo Umbrella, what on earth's her goal and is it also part of her espionage?
No one knows the truth yet.
That Ada Wong... she herself doesn't know either.
MYSTERIOUS GROUND
Ada searches for the truth in dusky catacombs and bizarre tunnels.
Horrifying designs are scattered within and various mysteries and traps block her advance.
In addition, Ada's conducting espionage alone and forced to be covert to avoid danger.
Though she's well-experienced handling firearms and a crossbow, she can't afford to defeat all her foes.
She'll have to fulfill her objectives before she's surrounded by countless enemies.
EVIL HOSTILITIES
The creatures awaiting Ada in the mysterious place are grotesque, different from the Zombies and J'avo.
According to a report on Neo Umbrella, Ada appears to be commanding the J'avo and Ustanak, yet the creatures in this place are hostile to Ada?
Ada also reunites with Leon in a certain area.
It's believed they share a common goal for cooperating, but...
In any event, there are many mysteries concerning Ada's actions and purpose.
For who, for what, it all remains shrouded.
ADA'S PERSONAL HISTORY
Espionage
Ada belonged to an organization with hostile relations to Umbrella, and at the organization's order, she gathered information concerning the t-Virus that Umbrella developed. Although Ada came into contact with John, a researcher of the Umbrella Arklay Laboratory, and obtained information on the virus while in a relationship with him, she was unable to accomplish her mission due to the accidental virus outbreak within the facility. Afterwards, Ada was ordered by Wesker, who'd joined the same organization, to search for the G-Virus developed by Dr. William. In order to carry out her mission to seize the doctor's G-Virus, she searched Raccoon City, where hordes of Zombies roamed. ("BIOHAZARD 2")
Critical Condition
In the middle of her mission to retrieve the G-Virus, Ada met Leon while he was searching for a way to escape Raccoon City, and she schemed to use him. She continued her search while pretending to cooperate with him until she finally located a sample of the G-Virus. On the other hand, Leon risked his life to protect her, gradually making it impossible for Ada to suppress her love, and so she was wounded trying to help Leon as he was being attacked by a Tyrant. ("BIOHAZARD 2")
Ada escaped and arrived at a hotel, her meeting point with a contact. She told Wesker she'd obtained the G-Virus and escaped the city due to his guidance. ("BIOHAZARD UMBRELLA CHRONICLES")
Conflict
Six years after the Raccoon Incident, Ada continued espionage at Wesker's command. Her objective was to acquire samples of the Plaga parasite being studied by the cult Los Iluminados. Although she arranged for the cult's researcher Luis to steal a sample as collateral for protection, Leon, now a U.S. agent, appeared there. Wesker issued a cruel order, "eliminate Leon", and the sample also crossed into the cult's hands due to Luis being killed, and Krauser, who'd infiltrated the cult, had begun making moves. In the chaotic situation, Ada's heart shook at the order to kill the man she was once attracted to. ("biohazard 4")
Deception
Ada made up her mind to act in defiance of Wesker's orders for her own objective. Using and sometimes helping Leon, she got closer to acquiring the sample. She then killed Krauser, whom Wesker sent as an assassin, and worked with Leon to eliminate the cult's leader Saddler. After eliminating Saddler, Ada seized the "dominant species Plaga" sample from Leon then escaped the island. Unlike her original objective, she brought the dominant species Plaga sample to the organization's top brass while sending Wesker a "subordinate species Plaga" sample. The deception with Wesker was a cover ordered by the top brass... She was a double agent. ("biohazard 4")
OTHER CHARACTERS
ADAM BENFORD (p.44)
President of the United States of America. After the biohazard occurred in Raccoon City, he contacted Leon, who succeeded in escaping the city, and brought him in as a U.S. agent. At that time he was a high-ranking government official. At the beginning of this story, he's trying to reveal the truth of the Raccoon Incident at Ivy University in Tall Oaks, but on the day of the lecture, he becomes a victim to bioterrorism.
INGRID HUNNIGAN
A member of FOS (Field Operations Support), a government agency that supports U.S. agents like Leon. It essentially uses communication devices to provide agents with instructions from the government and to conduct missions, with a role of providing navigation to a destination. She has an almost 10 year relationship with Leon and the connection of trust between them runs deep.
DEREK C. SIMMONS (p.45)
An advisor to the U.S. President. Known as a sworn friend of 30 years to incumbent President Adam Benford, he's recognized by himself and others as the President's right hand. Since he was operating separately from the President, he wasn't caught up in the bioterror attack in Tall Oaks, and took command of the situation at the FOS offices where Hunnigan works. He suspects Leon who survived Tall Oaks, accusing him of the bioterror attack and assassinating the President.
MAIN ORGANIZATIONS
DSO (p.048)
The DSO's an organization of new agents possessing the readiness and flexibility the United States requires to protect the nation from new threats of "bioterrorism." The DSO was established in 2011 by directive of President Adam Benford.
The DSO consists of agents selected from various organizations and its most distinctive feature is that each is positioned as an agent "under the President's direct command." Their objectives are all direct orders from the president, hence their actions are considered absolute justice.
In accordance with the justice the president believes in, in just two years since its formation, the DSO has eliminated all crises threatening the U.S. and has become an organization referred to as "The President's Sword."
A model agent of this DSO is Leon S. Kennedy, who was also a member at the time of its establishment. Sherry Birkin also belongs to the DSO, but was initially an agent in another organization. Leon learns she belongs to the DSO soon after the incident occurred, as she was tasked by Simmons with protecting Jake Muller immediately after being transferred to the DSO. Additionally, within the U.S. there was an anti-bioterror unit called the "FBC", but it's not directly related to the DSO and the character of the organizations are quite different.
BSAA
Umbrella collapsed in 2003.
On that occasion, B.O.W.'s began to leak onto the black market all over the world.
Since they fell into the hands of some nations, guerillas, and terrorists, the threat of B.O.W.'s fell upon the general public.
Therefore, in 2004, the Pharmaceutical Industry Association formed the anti-bioterror unit "BSAA" as a countermeasure.
Initially the BSAA's situation was as a private NGO, but the organization was reorganized, triggered by the 2005 "Queen Zenobia Incident."
It became an actual special operations unit under the direct control of the United Nations.
After becoming an organization under the UN's direct control, seven branch offices were set up around the world in addition to headquarters, prepared to rapidly respond to bioterrorism.
Chris and Piers belong to the North America Branch.
In Edonia, Eastern Europe, reports of a "new breed" of B.O.W. have emerged and one of the "Original Eleven" founding members, namely Chris, has been called in to join the op along with the North America Alpha Team that Chris leads.
In addition, in the Lanshiang, China operation, the forces of every branch have been deployed to support the Far East Branch responsible for the area against the damage of the bioterror attack, which is exceedingly extensive.
Chris' unit will also take part in this mission.
Edonian Liberation Army (p.049)
Like other Eastern European nations, Edonia was democratized in the late 1980s, but twenty years have now passed since democratization and chaos gradually began to arise in its domestic politics.
Due to this confusion, some officers enacted a coup d'etat.
Edonia's city hall was occupied, but ironically, the chaos became a factor that brought the government together.
Losing public support, the then-Prime Minister dissolved the Parliament.
Instead, a political party appealing to strengthen relations with EU nations became the top party, and Edonia's domestic affairs began to recover stability.
The forces that caused the coup were gradually hunted and decimated, but some extremists continued a stubborn resistance as anti-government forces.
Furthermore, the anti-government forces were revived by piggybacking on the unstable political conditions in neighboring countries.
In 2010, Edonia finally fell into civil war as some of the poor populace responded by becoming insurgents.
During the civil war, viral weapons were utilized as a new source of chaos.
The BSAA intervened because someone distributed the C-Virus to the soldiers in the anti-government forces under the guise of a nutritional drug, causing a B.O.W. called J'avo to appear.
The Edonia Civil War has become even more chaotic.
Neo Umbrella
Umbrella was a giant pharmaceutical company that developed the t-Virus which turns humans into Zombies.
Neo Umbrella's a mysterious organization with little known information.
Although it doesn't exist in the form of a corporation like the original Umbrella, it's suspected to be involved in bioterrorism in some fashion.
A female spy previously in Umbrella's opposing organization, Ada Wong, has been reported to belong to Neo Umbrella.
The creatures born under the influence of the C-Virus and infesting every corner of the world are rumored to be brought by her.
