Prologue (p.002-003)
The massive terror attack on the maritime city of Terragrigia a year ago
The silent cruise liner Queen Zenobia
What are the implications of these two biohazards?
The year was 2004. The terrorist organization Veltro launched an attack on Terragrigia, an artificial maritime city built on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The city, which had advanced technology such as solar power generation, ironically became a target for advanced terrorism utilizing B.O.W.'s (Bio Organic Weapon). When the people of the world witnessed Terragrigia in ruins, the horror of bioterrorism was etched into their memories.
The year is 2005. Jill receives word that her old partner, Chris, has vanished. Jill and her new partner, Parker, head for the Queen Zenobia, the luxury liner where Chris went missing. What awaits them is the terrorist group Veltro. Veltro are after a virus called "t-Abyss" that can contaminates 1/5 of the oceans, Chris has disappeared, and Jill is chasing after him. The complex story unravels as one truth after another is revealed.
JILL VALENTINE
She was party to the Mansion Incident in the Arklay Mountains, caused by the world's first viral weapons, and is also one of the Original Eleven, BSAA staff since its establishment. She's a tough woman with a powerful sense of justice, having solved countless biohazards in the field. She follows Chris into the Queen Zenobia.
CHRIS REDFIELD
A former S.T.A.R.S. member who, like Jill, was embroiled in the "Mansion Incident," and is one of the BSAA's Original Eleven. He's a tough guy who can accomplish any difficult mission. A professional in firearms, combat, and counter-bioterror. He and Jessica head to snowy mountains to investigate...
PARKER LUCIANI
A former FBC member who was present at the "Terragrigia Panic", a major bioterrorist attack that occurred in the past. Now a member of the BSAA and will be working with Jill on this mission. A cynical but passionate man with a serious, uncompromising personality. He has known Jessica since their FBC days.
JESSICA SHERAWAT
Former FBC staff who, like Parker, faced the Terragrigia Panic. Later transferred to the BSAA and teamed up with Chris for this mission, heading for snowy mountains. She's an expert with rifles and specializes in logistical support. She's fond of Chris and has tried getting closer to him several times, but doesn't appear to have succeeded yet.
QUINT CETCHAM
A member of the BSAA who works with Keith. He does everything from cryptography to programming, explosives disposal, and engineering. He was also deeply involved in developing the Genesis. In private, he's a big movie buff and self-confessed mecha geek.
KEITH LUMLEY
A member of the BSAA. An excellent agent specializing in assault missions. In C.C. (close combat), he's particularly fond of using two blades called "Kukri" knives. Though his body's covered in tattoos and he has a light-hearted attitude, he's very skilled.
CLIVE R. O'BRIAN
Current head of the BSAA. As the BSAA's leader he coordinates Jill and the other unique members. Despite his aloof demeanor and friendly appearance, he's an excellent, decisive commander with a keen intellect.
RAYMOND VESTER
A mysterious man who appears in front of Jill and her partner on the luxury cruise ship Queen Zenobia. He looks calm with sharp eyes and the body language of an agent. He seems to be acquainted with Parker...
MORGAN LANSDALE
Commissioner and supreme authority of the FBC, another anti-bioterror organization. He's often criticized for his heavy-handed and hard-line approaches to solving bioterrorism, but it's hard to argue with his track record and leadership. He's often at odds with O'Brien.
TERRORIST ORGANIZATION VELTRO
A group of jingoists who degenerated into urban guerrillas when they resorted to terrorist methods, making their name known to the world in 2004 with the Teragrigia Panic. Gas masks are their trademark.
HUMAN ORGANIZATIONS COMBATTING B.O.W.'S
BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance)
An organization formed in response to the threat of bioweapons that proliferated throughout the world following the collapse of the giant Umbrella Corporation. In the event of emergencies, they participate as observers in the counter-bioterror ops of various nations' military and police forces. The expansion of bioterror has exceeded expectations, however, and their methods for dealing with it are reaching a limit.
FBC (Federal Bioterrorism Commission)
A federal anti-bioterror committee formed by the United States. Although the unit's appearance and philosophy are identical to the BSAA, some media outlets have pointed out problems with it, such as its ideological bias due to the fact it's based in a single country, and the fact that its deployments to other nations harbor hidden political agendas.

Creature
Ooze (p.043)
The end result of a person infected with t-Abyss. It's white and bloated like a drowned corpse with a half-liquefied body.
Ooze - Pincer (p.044)
A subspecies of Ooze whose arms have mutated into crab scissors.
Ooze - Tricorn (p.045)
A subspecies of Ooze. It's called a tricorn because its head's shaped like a triangular hat used by the Navy.
Ooze - Chunk (p.046)
Although it's a subspecies of Ooze, its upper body has expanded to such an abnormal degree it no longer retains its original form.
Ooze Rachel (p.047)
This is the mutated form of Rachel, a woman who was attacked on-board the ship and infected. Perhaps due to it being a short period of time since she was infected, she still retains some semblance of humanity, but she's not conscious as a person.
Globster (p.048)
Globster is an abbreviation for "Grotesque Blob Monster," and refers to unidentified drifting objects that've been found around the world. Most of them are already dead, but there are some that suddenly start moving, so don't approach them carelessly.
Fenrir (p.049)
A wolf-type B.O.W. developed with deployment among mountains in mind. It retains many of the wolf's original characteristics, hunting in packs and calling out to its companions with a howl. Although they aren't very strong, they use their powerful legs to pounce on you, so you must watch their movements carefully.
Ghiozzo (p.050)
A t-Abyss infected fish that mutated into a ferocious carnivorous fish. Due to the virus' effects it has an extreme appetite with sharp fangs and powerful jaw muscles, capable of chewing through anything and everything. Though they often appear in groups their individual strength and aggressiveness are low, making them easy to deal with.
Sea Creeper (p.051)
A special t-Abyss infected human mutant that lives in the water. They creep silently through the water making good use of the shell covering their entire body which resembles long hair. It's very difficult to avoid a surprise attack from the water's surface.
Hunter (p.052)
This combat-type B.O.W. was developed based on reptiles. Its entire body's covered with scaly skin and it uses its long, sharp claws as weapons. It possesses astounding agility and will utterly hunt down its foes to the brink of death. It's very important to get ahead of them and make them flinch.
Farfarello (p.053)
A B.O.W. developed by adding t-Abyss to the Hunter, it has the ability to mimic and can approach while invisible. Its name comes from one of the twelve demons in Dante's "Divine Comedy." If you don't learn how to determine its whereabouts, you'll inevitably have a hard time.
Scagdead (p.054)
The Scagdead is an Ooze mutation. Originally humans resistant to a rare virus, the carriers can barely speak while lacking awareness, reminiscent of sleepwalkers.
Scarmiglione (p.055)
A B.O.W. developed using shark DNA. The strength of its spear-like protruding arms is close to that of an armored car's frontal armor, and when used as piercing weapons or shields, it boasts invincible defense. It's a special creature with differing levels of durability for its upper and lower body.
Draghighnazzo (p.056)
This strange creature's an amalgamation of countless individuals. Like ascidians, it reproduces asexually, with individual ascites separating to produce more clones. They secrete a unique calcium content and are covered with a hard epidermis, allowing them to easily block attacks.
Malacoda (p.058)
They have a long body like that of an eel. In addition to living in groups in the water, they can also parasitize other organisms and function inside them. It can be quickly defeated by targeting the head instead of the body.
Norman (p.060)
The mutated form of Norman, the leader of the internationally designated terrorist organization Veltro, who injected a virus into his own body. He has the ability to put pressure on people with his eye flash and deprive them of normal senses. If you don't see through the illusions, you won't stand a chance.
Ooze (p.043)
