THE FIRST NIGHT - UNDERGROUND HIDEOUT
RACCOON CITY STREETS
(SE) A roar, the streets are covered with fire. Cries and groans of people are heard everywhere.
Woman A: *gasping*...someone, help!
Man A: AAAAH, the wall's fallin' apart!
(SE) Sounds of shuffling and drawing. A mob of Zombies is approaching.
Man B: Don't come near me. Get away from me.
(SE) BANG-BANG! Shotgun shot sounds.
Man B: AAAAAAH!!!
(SE) Zombies knock over Man B, sounds of devouring. The fire on the streets is spreading more and more. One of the buildings is collapsing. In the middle of it, the sounds of approaching footsteps are heard. They belong to George (16 years old) and Sally (15 years old)
Sally: Wait, George! I can't run anymore.
George: Do you want to become Zombie food?
Sally: But... I have no strength left.
George: There's no choice, Sally.
(SE) Sally begins to sob.
Sally: What'll happen to the city now? Because of all that's happened?
George: How do I know? In the city we were constantly teased, they called us rats. Now they're just rats. They're running from Zombies in a burning city. They asked for it themselves. There's another one out there.
Male voice: AAaaaah!!
(SE) Zombies are attacking.
George: (Seriously) Sally, we'll survive no matter what, we'll go to another city and get rich. I'll have a cool car. You'll have a fur coat and rings with big diamonds.
Sally: (enthusiastically) George... There's a Zombie behind you!!
(SE) Zombies are coming, leading with groans. UUUGH...
George: Oh, you freaks. Now my bat'll show ya a home run.
(SE) Beats and hammers the Zombies with a bat, but they keep coming.
George: Sally, run! Let's get to the shelter. We'll figure out how to get out of here!
Sally: George!
(SE) The sound of the fleeing steps of the two. Zombie groans are heard. The noise of the city enveloped in fire.
BUILDING, BASEMENT
(SE) Sharp change of the situation. Silence. A tiny sound of water dripping from the tap. In the twilight sits Nancy (16 years), Ken (15 years), Tom (8 years)
Tom: Nancy, Nancy.
Nancy: Yes. What do you need, Tom.
Tom: You've been quiet a long time. Why?
Nancy: (with tenderness in her voice) No reason. Just a little thoughtful.
(SE) At this time Ken, being near Tom, took his bun.
Tom: Hey, Ken, what're ya doing! Bring back my bun!
Ken: You still haven't eaten it. I wanna eat.
Tom: Come on. I want to eat it now. Give it back!
Ken: Don't shout!
(SE) Ken throws Tom away, Tom hits a locker and cries loudly. Suddenly there is a click of a gun bolt.
Ken: (scared) What're you gonna do Nancy? Don't point that gun at me.
Nancy: You have to give Tom a bun. We've divided buns and cola for three equally. You didn't need to eat everything at once.
Ken: We shared. Of course! I got the one with mold. Here look.
Nancy: Tom, don't cry all the time. You're a man.
Tom: Uh-huh.
(SE) At this moment, a loud knock at the door.
Ken: Hey... Someone's outside!
Tom: Nancy!
(SE) Outside, someone pulls hard at the door handle.
George: Is there anyone here?! It's me. George!
Ken: Bro!
(SE) Runs to the door and opens it. George and Sally rush in.
Ken: And Sally's here!
Sally: (panting) Water. My throat's dry, I'm about to die.
(SE) The sound of the opening of a water tap and water flowing under great pressure. Suddenly.
Nancy: You can't drink! If you drink water from the tap, you turn into a Zombie.
Sally: Woah! (quickly turns the tap)
Nancy: We've got a cola, you can drink that.
Sally: You're my saviour!
(SE) Opens the cola (the sound of opening the lid), drinks.
George: So? Nancy, are you lost. And small, as you are there - Tom. Why are you here? You're from the east.
Nancy: The eastern district burned to the ground, along with our shelter.
George: This is our territory. Ken, get them out of here.
Ken: But she's got a gun.
George: What?
Nancy: Actually, we were waiting for you to get here. The city's teeming with Zombies, we can't escape from here by ourselves. But if we work together I think we'll succeed.
George: Don't preach your nonsense.
Nancy: It's true. If you promise we'll unite and run away from here, I'll give you a gun.
George: Really?
Sally: You can't lie to them, George. They immediately recognize this.
Nancy: Without weapons, you can't get out of town. Our foe isn't just the Zombies. There are many other monsters too.
George: How do you know?
Ken: What's this? A floppy disk or something?
Nancy: Yesterday, running away from the Zombies, we hid near the Raccoon River. And we saw a wounded boy there. His name was Bobby. Do you know him?
George: Oh, yea, an orphan, he's still in Raccoon's hospital.
Nancy: When we approached him, he desperately asked us to take this floppy disk, and in a very weak voice he said, "I got this disk from a doctor called Linda, please send it to a newspaper, I can't ..."
George: To a newspaper?
Nancy: Just after saying these words, he immediately stopped breathing. He was so small, and just like us, a homeless child, and yet he did his best to get there with this disk. The editorial office for the newspaper wasn't touched by the fire. So we climbed into the nearest office and opened it on a computer.
George: And?
Nancy: It says that in this incident, the Umbrella Corporation is to blame.
George: What?!
Nancy: The virus that turned people into Zombies--- Cerberus, Crows, Hunters, all these monsters are created by Umbrella Corp.
Sally: Incredible.
George: Shit, they show off as if they're the city's saviors and they themselves made such things on the sly!
(SE) BAM! The chair flies from a powerful kick. At that moment a strange rustling sounds.
Ken: Eh, what's that sound?
(SE) The rustling gradually approaches.
Sally: It's coming. In the ventilation shaft!
Tom: (scared) Nancy...
(SE) The sound is getting louder and louder, the next moment the ventilation grid rises, falls to the floor, and a huge flock of rats bursts into the room with a loud yelp.
Sally: AAAH! Rats!
Nancy: Be careful, if they bite you, you turn into a Zombie!
Ken: Oh great!
Nancy: People have been saying that. Those rats bear a bacteria that turns people into Zombies!
Tom: Nancy!
Ken: There's another!
Sally: It's useless! They're not being diminished!
George: Get outta here!
Nancy: Take us with you!
George: Give me the gun! Quickly, get out of here!

THE FIRST NIGHT - ESCAPING THE CITY
SHELTER
OUTSIDE
(SE) The street is on fire. Five people, led by George, run out.
George: There!
(SE) The sound of running steps. The wall of the burning building begins to crack and crumbles with a crash.
Sally: AAH!
George: Sally, are you okay?
(SE) Groans. The Zombies are coming.
Ken: Zombies!
Tom: AAH! Nancy, help!
(SE) Zombies surround Tom.
Nancy: Run, Tom! Run!
Tom: I'm scared! I'm afraid!
(SE) Zombies are getting closer and closer.
George: You idiot! Why're ya frozen like a pillar? Oh, you freaks!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Fire escapes from the barrel of the gun. The sound of a wounded Zombie shot.
Ken: One more, bro!
George: Get out!
(SE) ...but there is a click and the gun doesn't fire.
George: The bullets! Ken, give me the bat!
Ken: Hey, you!
(SE) Sounds of beating a bat and a falling Zombie.
Tom: Nancy!
Nancy: Are you okay, Tom?
George: Nancy, you fooled us! The pistol had enough bullets for only two shots!
Nancy: I just picked up this gun, I didn't know how many bullets there were!
Ken: Did we waste them on saving this little brat?
Sally: Come on, George. Score for those two.
Nancy: Are you going to break the promise?!
Ken: (crookedly grins) We don't know Nancy. Let's go bro.
George: We take them with us.
Sally: Huh?
Ken: They'll get in the way!
George: A promise is a promise. We've got no family, no roof. In addition, everything we do - petty theft, car robberies and pushing drugs. However, even the likes of us don't break promises. If we can't even do that, we're no longer people. We're worse than the Zombies.
Nancy: (admiringly) George.
George: But listen, I'll tell you now, Nancy. If you deceive us or betray us, we'll abandon you.
Nancy: I get it.
George: All right. Now that we've decided, let's look for a car. We'll find a serviceable car and get out of the city.
(SE) On the street, the footsteps of the group of five people are heard between the fire and explosions, the sounds of Zombie steps are mixed with them. Groans are heard.
Ken: It looks like hell.
Nancy: The cars, we are out of luck. They are overturned or burning.
Tom: Nancy, look! There's a patrol car!
(SE) The sound of running steps.
Ken: Two cops are dead.
George: The keys are in the ignition lock. But is it working or not, it is unclear.
Sally: Look at their hands. One of them has a gun.
Ken: Okay, I'll take it. Damn. He has a tight hold on it. Let go!
(SE) Pulls out the gun. The sound of opening the magazine with cartridges.
Ken: Damn such bullshit, not a single bullet.
Sally: AAH! He opened his eyes!
Policeman A: (breathing heavily) *coughing*, Help.
Nancy: Hold on, please.
Policeman A: Water...
Nancy: Tom, give me your cola.
Tom: Uh-huh.
Ken: Hold on. It's a waste. He'll die anyway!
Sally: Exactly. Pull it out quickly, get in the car and dump them.
Nancy: No, I can't do this. Tom, come on. Drink on the side. Yes, that's it. Don't rush.
(SE) Policeman A drinks.
Policeman A: (finished drinking) Thank you. Yyy...
Nancy: Hold on, officer. Officer!
(SE) The policeman groans and at the same time calms down.
Tom: He's dead, Nancy.
Ken: I told you, it was useless to waste our only cola.
George: Stop it, Ken.
Ken: But, bro!
George: People are dying around us and the cops are among them, yet you can remain calm?
Ken: But...
Sally: Did you forget what they were doing to us? They drove us around the city, beat us with truncheons and scoffed at us. In the end, they just don't care about us.
George: It's over, pull out the body and get into the car.

THE SECOND NIGHT - BEEHIVE
(SE) The sound of pulling the body out of the car. At this moment comes the approaching croaking of a small flock of crows.
Tom: (with horror in his voice) Nancy! There, there are crows!
Nancy: Crows! They're also infected!
(SE) The sound of the flapping wings of a pack of crows at once is approaching.
Ken: AAAA!! They're attacking!
George: Quickly, into the car!
(SE) The car engine struggles, the sound of the doors slamming.
George: Close the windows!
(SE) Crows began to beat at the windows; banging their beaks against them.
Sally: George, more on the back window!
(SE) Turns the key in the ignition switch. But the car doesn't start.
George: It won't start!
(SE) Sound of broken glass, flapping of wings.
Nancy: The window!!
(SE) The flapping of the wings. Ravens fly into the car.
Ken: One got in!
Tom: Nancy, I'm scared!
(SE) Suddenly, the sound of a running engine is heard.
George: It's started!
(SE) The machine jerks away from its place. The flapping of the crow's wings is removed.
IN THE PATROL CAR
Ken: Quick! Drive!
Sally: Now you can say goodbye to the city. Yeah!
(SE) Everyone is smiling.
Ken: What's that switch?
(SE) presses the switch, the siren turns on.
Ken: Uh, no, I'm not... It doesn't turn off!
Sally: George, don't forget about the fur coat and diamonds you promised.
George: Yea, you're right.
Tom: Nancy.
Nancy: That's great, Tom. We'll go to another city where we can live together.
Tom: Uh-huh.
(SE) Suddenly, the car abruptly leads to the side with a strange sound.
Sally: What's wrong, George. You're going too fast.
George: The brakes. The brakes don't work!
Nancy: What'd you say?
All Together: AAAAH!!
(SE) A crackling sound. The machine rubs sideways against the wall of the building.
Sally: Hit the brakes, George!
George: I can't. We're going to crash!
All: AAAAAA!!!
(SE) BANG! The car demolishes a garbage can.
Tom: Nancy!
George: Damn, if so, we're gonna have to jump out.
Sally: What?
Ken: We'll be torn to shreds at this speed.
George: Don't worry, come on!
(SE) The car scrapes and bangs along the walls!
Tom: I'm scared, Nancy.
Nancy: Come on, Tom.
George: Come on, one, two, three! We jump!
(SE) Doors open and all jump together. The next moment the patrol car crashes into the wall of a burning building, ignites and explodes.
George: (breathing heavily) The others... are you all right, where are you?
Ken: I'm here.
Nancy: Tom and I are fine.
George: Where's Sally?
Sally: I'm here.
George: Everyone's safe. Good.
Ken: But the car... We were so hoping we could finally get out of here. Shit!
George: Don't complain. We'll walk from here.
IN THE STREETS (NIGHT)
(SE) In the distance, a dog howl is heard. The crackling of a flame is heard.
Man A: Zombie bastards! Go to hell, to hell, to hell! Ah-ha-ha!
(SE) Squealing of wheels on a vehicle.
Ken: It's already dark, little bro.
Sally: No matter how many people are with us, we still can't get out. We're gonna die here.
George: Don't give up hope.
(SE) At this point. Shuffling... The sounds of footsteps and Zombie groans approach.
Ken: Bro, Zombies!
Sally: There's too many of them, everyone's coming here.
George: Yea, if we're quiet! Stay low, they won't notice us. Let's hide in the shadows and they'll pass by.
(SE) A large crowd of Zombies passes by.
Nancy: (whispering) Well, that was scary. Both men and women. All the residents turned into Zombies and roaming the city.
George: Their skin's falling off and trailing behind, the flesh rotting...
Nancy: (with a bitter voice) Raccoon City really turned into a city of Zombies. There's nobody left alive in it besides us. Lord...
(SE) The sound of Zombie steps, their number gradually increases. Groans. The roar and sounds of the city in flames.
ON THE STREETS OF RACCOON CITY (NIGHT)
(SE) Howling dogs in the distance. Cracking fire. Groans of Zombies. Shuffling. In the midst of all this, George, Nancy, Sally, Ken and Tom are running.
Sally: There are Zombies here too. AAH!
(SE) The flapping of wings. Crow's squawking.
Ken: Crows, AH, they're infected!
George: There's a house in there, we'll hide in it!
SOME SORT OF HOUSE, LIVING ROOM
(SE) The door to the entrance hall opens, five people enter. Behind them outside, the flapping of wings and groans of Zombies are heard.
George: Quickly close the door!
(SE) Door being closed. For a while, crows and Zombies are heard. Soon there is silence.
George: Ken. Look out the window.
Ken: No crows, no Zombies. The place seems safe.
George: It seems that everything has calmed down.
Sally: I'm hungry. Haven't eaten all day.
Tom: Nancy, what a beautiful house.
Nancy: It's true.
Tom: It looks like its residents have fled from here. It'd be good to live here.
Ken: Then let's settle here. In such a house, even being eaten by a Zombie wouldn't be so bad.
George: Don't curse us. Search the house. Me and Sally are checking the first floor, Ken, Nancy and Tom are the second. Check if there are any Zombies. If there's any food. Don't forget to look for weapons.
Ken: All right.
Nancy: I got it.
SAME HOUSE, SECOND FLOOR, ONE OF THE ROOMS
(SE) The door opens with a creak. Come in Nancy, Ken and Tom.
Ken: Upholstered furniture, TV, table, curtains lace, it''s so nice.
(SE) Pushes the curtains.
Ken: And the yard's big.
(SE) At this moment, an approaching muffled buzzing is heard.
Nancy: What's the sound?
Tom: It's a beehive, Nancy! On the tree in the yard, there's a huge hive!
Nancy: Then it's possible that they too are infected with the virus created by Umbrella.
Ken: Infected?! Then I'll kill them now!
(SE) With a rumble opens the window.
Nancy: Stop, Ken! It's too dangerous!
Ken: Shut up! Hey ya stupid creatures!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Suddenly, with a whirring from the hive, a bee swarm flies out.
Ken: AAH! There's so many.
Nancy: Shut the window! Fast!
(SE) The sound of closing the window. A huge number of bees fly in through the window.
Ken: Hahahaha, try to get in. Idiots.
(SE) Buzzing bees. The sound of strokes on the glass.
SAME HOUSE, FIRST FLOOR, LIVING ROOM (NIGHT)
(SE) Nancy and the others go down to the first floor.
George: Did you find anything?
Ken: There was nothing.
Sally: (with a clogged mouth) And we found a bunch of food in the fridge.
Ken: Is that, cheese? And meat. Hooray!
(SE) Eating greedily.
George: Slow down, you're like a pig. By the way, we need to figure out a way out of here.
Nancy: Definitely, without weapons, everything's useless.
George: We must go looking.
Sally: Go out again. I don't want to.
Nancy: In that case, we'll stay here until the Zombies attack us.
Sally: Hmm? Thr police or military will get here and we'll be escorted out.
George: Don't count on it. Phone and radio communications don't work.
Ken: I'll go. Without weapons, we've got nothing to hope for.
George: Then we've decided. We'll spend this night here. Keep watch in turns, one watches over the rest while they sleep.
(SE) Humming insects. The clock is ticking.
Nancy: It's so quiet. And it seems that everything happening in the city is unreal.
George: Tom, did you fall asleep?
Nancy: Yes.
George: You're so close with Tom. He's not even your brother.
Nancy: I met Tom roughly six months ago. He was hungry, wandering the streets. Seeing him, I remembered my own brother, who at that time was already dead.
George: He died?
Nancy: Yes, his name was Mike. Four years ago, after my mom and dad died in an accident, we were sent from one relative to another... When it became completely unbearable, we escaped.
George: Ah.
Nancy: We ran out of money and had nowhere to go. Mike wanted to eat and cried all the time, out of despair we both made our way to the farm to steal food. But we were found. We ran at full speed. But Mike fell behind and was shot with a gun.
George: That's awful. Despite the fact that he was just a child.
Nancy: I could hear his screams behind me "Sister, help..." But I was so frightened and couldn't go back for him.
(SE) Nancy sobs.
Nancy: Then I heard that he was buried in a cemetery for the unidentified. But I don't know where exactly... So seeing Tom, I immediately remembered my brother...
George: I'm like you. Maybe not as bad, but I lived a harsh life. My dad was an angry man who used to beat me. Now he's gone. He died as a result of poisoning with bug.
Nancy: I see...
(SE) Humming insects. In the distance, howling dogs.

THE SECOND NIGHT - JEALOUSY
Ken: Hey, Sally, don't you care?
Sally: What're you talking about?
Ken: I'm talking about Nancy. She's been on the ground floor for a long time and won't leave George.
Sally: What're you talking about?
Ken: Hehehe, the little bro's popular.
Sally: (abruptly) Yes, she can have him! Let her try to take my George, I'll make sure that never happens.
Ken: Oh, scary, scary. Hahaha...
(SE) The flaming flame. Crowds of wandering Zombies. The sound of the group's approaching steps, led by George.
George: So, we'll split up in search of weapons. Me and Nancy will look there, you and Sally look in the opposite direction.
Sally: Why's Nancy going with you?! I'll go.
George: Don't talk nonsense. If not, I'll go alone. And you three. We meet here. Clear?
Sally: George!
(SE) The sounds of George's steps heading away.
Sally: (with hatred) What're you up to, Nancy? Do you want to take George away from me?!
Nancy: Enough of the jealousy.
Sally: What'd you say?!
Ken: As good as a fight sounds, now's not the time for a showdown. Let's go!
(SE) Sound of the steps of three people.
SAME HOUSE, LIVING ROOM
(SE) The wind rises, hums and knocks on the window.
Tom: (hopelessly) They've been gone a long time... Maybe they won't come back. Wow, there's a music box on the fireplace.
(SE) The lid opens with a click and pleasant music begins to sound.
ON THE STREETS
(SE) Three people from George's group approach.
Ken: Shit, there's nothing like a weapon anywhere, couldn't someone have dropped one.
(SE) As he said this, unpleasant chomping sound can be heard.
Sally: Eww... three Zombies are eating a man.
Nancy: (whispering) Hey, look, a van next to the Zombies. A Colt's lying on the seat. And on the ground around it are scattered bullets. Ken?
Ken: What do ya want? You being serious, you want me to go get it?
Sally: You're a boy.
Nancy: I'll go too. Since the Zombies are busy eating people at the moment and don't see anything around them, we can get up close. Ken, you're going to collect ammo and I'll take the Colt.
Ken: All right, I gotcha.
(SE) The two carefully approach. The chomping sounds get closer.
Ken: Phew. What a stink. Please, be careful.
Nancy: (whispering) Get the ammo. I'll take...
(SE) Suddenly, the sound of a falling and shattering bottle is heard.
Ken: Where'd the sound come from?!
(SE) Zombies turn around... Uhhh... shuffle. They approach.
Ken: The Zombies spotted us and have their attention on us. Nancy, run!
Nancy: But I haven't taken the Colt yet!
(SE) Zombies are approaching, groaning.
Ken: Nancy!
Sally: Ken! Come on Nancy, we have to run!
Ken: Shit, I don't know where Nancy is.
(SE) The movements of Ken and Sally are heard.
Nancy: Wait for me! A little more and I got the gun!
(SE) The Zombies are approaching, groaning.
Nancy: Stay away! AAH! Don't come near me! AAAA!
ON THE STREETS
(SE) Crackle of fire. The sound of Sally and Ken's steps.
Ken: We messed up. We left Nancy.
Sally: Yeah, I don't really care about her.
(SE) Suddenly a thought comes to Ken.
Ken: (suddenly freezes) The sound of the bottle smashing... Was that you?
Sally: It's George! Hey!
(SE) Sounds of approaching steps.
George: Why're you two here? What happened to Nancy?!
Sally: Zombies attacked her.
George: Really?! Is this true, Ken?!
Ken: No, well, it's like...
Sally: Yes it is. Let's get out of this terrible place.
(SE) At that moment, steps are heard from the opposite street.
Nancy: George! Everyone!
George: Nancy! How could you survive! What happened to you?
Nancy: It's okay, I just fell behind.
George: Well, fine then. I just got worried.
Ken: Don't worry! Three Berettas and a shotgun!
Nancy: We found A Colt.

Tom: (scared) Who is it?
Nancy: Open up, Tom. This is Nancy.
Tom: Nancy.
(SE) Tom turns the music off, runs into the hallway and pulls out the key. The group rushes in, dropping the weapons.
Tom: Wow! Cool weapons!
George: Fill up on bullets. Here, take a pistol. I'm taking the shotgun.
Ken: With such a set, we can definitely get out of here. Ahahaha.
(SE) At that moment, there was an approaching buzzing.
George: What the fuck is this?!
Nancy: The bees from yesterday! We left the door open and they flew in. Close it, Ken!
(SE) Slams the door. At the same time, the buzz ceases.
Sally: OW, it hurts!

Ken: Where!?
(SE) The sound of the buzzing has disappeared.
Ken: I grabbed it. In a container! The creature's buzzing.
George: Sally, how are you?
Sally: (groans) My... it hurts... It hurts!
George: Hold on. It's just one bee.
Sally: But... but it hurts!
Nancy: George, can I talk to you for a minute?
George: What?
Nancy: (whispering) Maybe Sally wasn't stung by a simple bee. They too can be infected with the virus Umbrella developed.
George: What?!
Nancy: If so, then Sally will turn...
George: Calm yourself!
Sally: It hurts... It hurts... George, help!
George: Sally!
(SE) The sound of a wall clock ticking. Sally moans on the couch.
Sally: (groans) It hurts!
Ken: Hold on, Sally.
Sally: I'm burning... I'm hot...
Ken: Sally, sis.
Sally: I'm hot... hot...
George: Now what to do, Nancy? Will Sally really turn into... can't anything be done?!
Ken: If she turns into a Zombie, she'll stop recognizing us, want flesh and attack us, and that's pretty bad. Bro, we should put her out soon.
George: You moron! When Sally turns into a Zombie, then we decide!
Sally: (groans) George... George
George: What do you need, Sally. I'm here.
SAME HOUSE, SOMETIME LATER
Sally: My whole body itches... itches... itches...
(SE) Sally moans.

THE THIRD NIGHT - FUNERAL
A HOUSE, LIVING ROOM (NOON)
(SE) The wind knocks on the window. The room is returned to peace and George's suppressed crying voice can be heard.
George: Sally... Sally...
Tom: No... Sally didn't die... no...
Ken: (angry) Bro, she died and there's nothing we can do. We gotta get outta here as soon as possible.
George: So you're saying to throw Sally out and move on?
Nancy: Yes, if you have to bury her then you should.
Ken: But damnit, you wanna wait for her to come back as a Zombie?
George: What?!
Nancy: There should be a cemetery nearby. Let's bury her.
George: It doesn't matter that we don't have a roof, but that doesn't mean that after death we remain homeless. So don't worry, Sally, we'll bury you in the cemetery as is expected. (Shouts) Ken, bring the shovels!
Ken: (reluctantly) I understand.
George: Ah, now, Nancy, go to the garage and see if there's petrol or kerosene, and bring it if you find it.
Nancy: For?
George: We'll burn the body. Sally will never turn into a Zombie.
CEMETARY
(SE) The sounds of digging earth are heard. George and the others dig a grave for Sally.
Ken: That's enough, bro. It's deep enough.
George: More. We have to dig even deeper.
Ken: This is shit.
(SE) Continues to dig with a serious face.
The wind rises, tree branches swing.
Tom: Nancy, I'm scared somehow. There are graves around us.
(SE) At that moment, cawing sounds. Crows rustle with rustling wings.
Nancy: George, the crows!
George: Ken, that's enough. We lower Sally into the pit. Faster!

Ken: AAAH! The cross on the grave fell! And there, too, and one more!
George: What the fuck!
(SE) The next moment, the ground breaks with a crash, coffins rise to the surface, their lids open with creaks and one after the other Zombies begin to crawl out.
Ken: The dead got up from the coffins!
George: It's a Zombie! These are people who were buried after the virus broke out, they turned into Zombies.
(SE) Groans are heard, one by one Zombies approach.
Ken: AAH! Don't come near me, don't come near me!
(SE) BANG! BANG! BANG! Sounds of random shooting.
George: Don't panic, Ken. There's only five of them. Don't waste your ammo in vain!
(SE) But Ken doesn't listen to him.
Ken: Shit, shit!
(SE) BANG! BANG! BANG!
George: Ken!
(SE) Click! Ken runs out of ammo.
Ken: No bullets. Tom, give me your gun!
Tom: Nooo, get away!
Ken: Shut up!

George: Moron! You don't think you need to calm down?
(SE) Cawing of crows. Flapping wings approach.
Nancy: George! Crows are flying here!
Tom: Help, Nancy!
Nancy: Tom!
(SE) For some time, shots, Zombie voices and flapping of wings are heard. Finally, silence returns. George and the others are breathing heavily.
Ken: I did it. I took them all down. Ah, ahahaha...
Tom: Nancy, look! Sally's body in the sheet...
Nancy: It's moving!
Ken: Damn! She turned into a Zombie!
(SE) BANG! Ken shot at the same time...
George: STOP!
(SE) SMACK! Ken falls down.
Ken: AAH! (hits his fist on the ground) What're you doing, bro?
George: How dare you do this to Sally?
Nancy: George, Sally was already starting to turn.
George: Get the gas, Nancy!
Nancy: All right!
(SE) The sound of pouring gasoline from a canister.
George: (bitterly in his voice) Sally... Forgive me.
(SE) He sets the body on fire, Sally's body quickly spreads on fire. The sound of a flaming fire.
Tom: (screams) She's on fire! Sally's body is on fire! AAH! (crying)
Nancy: Don't look, Tom!
(SE) Tom is crying. Sally's body is on fire.
George: (tired voice) Sally... go to Heaven. I couldn't do anything for you. I couldn't buy you a fur coat or a ring. At least go to Heaven now and have a good time with your mom and dad.
(SE) George bursts into tears.
The flames flare up.
SAME HOUSE
(SE) Sounds of steps of four people.
George: We return to the house quickly, take food and water and leave.
(SE) but, the steps stopped.
Tom: Look! The door to the hallway is open!
George: Ken, you moron, you forget to lock the door!
(SE) The groaning voices of Zombies. Shuffling steps are heard.
Nancy: The Zombies are in the house! How many of them!
Tom: They're coming here, Nancy.
George: That's shit! Run!
(SE) The sound of running steps.
BY THE RIVER
(SE) The rippling of water. Four people approach.
Tom: Nancy, wait! I can't continue anymore!
Nancy: Tom, don't leave me alone!
George: The Zombie's gone. Let's take a rest here.
Ken: Damn. I wanna eat. It's a shame that there's so much food left in that house.
George: It's because you screwed up.
Ken: Oh, shit. That's not right bro, it was you!
George: What?
Ken: If we hadn't gone to bury Sally, nothing would've happened.
George: Stop it, Ken. Do you think I didn't know? The reason Sally died is because you threw a beehive, it's on you.
Tom: (confused) I don't think it's anyone's fault, especially.
George: It's all of us, Tom. And not only this. The gun. You panicked. He shot the whole clip, so he took Tom's gun.
Ken: Even if a small kid has a gun, it's of zero benefit.
George: Shut up! Give the gun back to Tom!
Ken: Yes, very funny. If I return it, then I'll be unarmed.
George: What? You're a man... Always just thinking about yourself. Sucker.
Tom: (timidly) I'm going to go end this. I can't shoot. And it's heavy. It'd be better if Ken held onto it.
Ken: You see, Tom says the same thing. Nobody's complaining.
George: (with growing anger) Ken...
Nancy: Stop already. Don't quarrel. We need to get out of the city as soon as possible.
George: (settles down) Okay. Ken, you're sure to pay for what you've done.
Ken: Bro.
George: This is a river called the Marble. If you go downstream, there should be a bridge.
Nancy: Yeah. If we cross it, we can leave the city.
Tom: (cheerfully) Hooray! Come quickly, Nancy!
NOT FAR FROM THE BRIDGE
(SE) An uneven sound of water ripples over an uneven surface. Four people approach.
Tom: What? The bridge! There was a bridge!
Nancy: Aah, it's useless. It collapsed.
Ken: Shit. I'd also collapse if my support beam crashed.
George: Tom, can you swim?
Tom: I can't.
Nancy: That's impossible. Even if he could swim, it's deep and the current is too fast. If you don't swim well, you'll drown.
George: We've already gone so far. And what the fuck!
Tom: Look, George! There's a boat!
Nancy: Exactly, a boat. There's a boat on the dock.
George: Yes! Everyone get on it!
(SE) The four quickly run to the pier.
Faster!
(SE) The sound of a body falling into a pit. The next moment the surface of the earth begins to tremble.
Nancy: What's this?!
(SE) The trembling gradually increases.
Tom: It's like the earth is shaking.
Nancy: Woah, the graves are moving!
(SE) A sound is heard from the grave to the right, the ground on it begins to fail.
(SE) Sounds of random shooting.

(SE) The four quickly run to the pier.
THE THIRD NIGHT - BETRAYAL
(SE) Four of them arrive at the pier.
George: (disappointed) Well, damn. This is a single kayak.
Nancy: It was most likely brought in by the current from campers in the Arklay Mountains.
George: Four won't fit in here.
(SE) Suddenly the click of a pistol.
Nancy: Ken, what're you up to? Why're you aiming the gun at us?
Ken: Because I'm taking this kayak.
Nancy: What? Ken, you decided to run away, or what?
Ken: Shut up! Throw your guns, both! Not into the river, but here.
Nancy: Ken.
Ken: Quickly. Or I'll shoot! I'm deadly serious!
George: You monster...
(SE) The sound of a falling and abandoned shotgun and pistol on the ground.
Ken: Ahahahaha, are ya disappointed? Oh, George, didn't you say not long ago that I'm only thinking of myself? You were right. What's bad about that?
Nancy: Ken.
Ken: We've got no family, no roof. You said it yourself, didn't ya? That we're outcasts of society, that we survive but don't cease to be human.
George: So you decided to doom us to this city?
Ken: Exactly. In a furnace of people. If you're not sure that it's right, then that's your problem. Hahaha, what, you think I didn't understand, that I'd wait for the moment of reckoning? But that's not gonna happen to me, here we say goodbye.
George: (threateningly) That all you wanted to say, Ken?
Ken: What?
George: You're getting the hell out, monster!
(SE) The next moment, George attacks Ken. Ken and George struggle.
Ken: Shit!
George: You moron!
(SE) They fight hard.
Nancy: Stop it, both of you!
Tom: George!
Nancy: George! Ken!
(SE) At the same moment there is a shot - BANG!
Ken: AAAHH, Nancy...
George: Nancy!
Tom: Nancy!
George: Ken, how dare you do this to Nancy!
Ken: (scared) Shut up!
(SE) The sound of Ken's rapidly escaping steps.
George: Nancy, are you okay?!
Nancy: (groans)
Tom: Ken got in a kayak and got away!
George: That freak.
Nancy: I wonder if he can get across the river. The current's very fast.
George: Even with the fact this moron did this to you, you're still worried about him?
Tom: Look, look, there's something coming out of the water!
George: What is it?! It's approaching the kayak.
Tom: A fin. Some big fish!
George: (in horror) A shark. That's a shark fin!
Tom: Wow! But this is a river. Sharks in a river...
(SE) Just as he utters this phrase a splash of water explodes.
George: Look, it jumped out. The shark is huge. It's a Great White.
Nancy: Neptune.
George: Neptune?
Nancy: This is another monster bred by Umbrella.
(SE) The next moment Ken shouted "AAAAA!"
George: It attacked the kayak!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Shots are heard.
Tom: Ken shoot it! (shouts) Ken, go! Go!
(SE) Noise in the water. SPLASH! Shots sound. BANG! BANG! A rattle. A broken tree cracks.
George: It bit the kayak twice! It's sinking. Ken!
(SE) The next moment "AAAAH!!!" there is a terrible scream from Ken.
George: The shark devoured Ken!
Tom: Ken!
(SE) Finally, silence reigns.
Tom: (crying) Nancy... Ken... the shark ate Ken.
Nancy: (panting) Tom...
(SE) The sound of a falling body. Nancy fainted.
Tom: What's wrong, Nancy?! George, Nancy fell!
George: Nancy! (surprised) Her stomach's covered in blood. Look, Ken shot her.
Tom: Nancy! No. Don't die, Nancy!
George: Nancy!

THE FOURTH NIGHT - DECIDING BELL
IN THE STREETS
(SE) The remaining trio are on the move: Tom and Nancy, breathing heavily, leans on George's shoulder.
George: Hold on, Nancy. Damnit, Ken, that freak, behaved like a complete moron.
Nancy: (panting) I'm fine.
Tom: George, this is the church of the eastern district. It hasn't burned down yet. Father!
(SE) But there is only the sound of wind in the window.
George: Quickly, we should drag Nancy there.
CHURCH, CHAPEL
(SE) The door opens with a creak and three people enter the room.
Tom: There's no one... Father!
(SE) Suddenly, there is a crash.
Tom: AAAAH!
George: Don't panic! It's just a candlestick blown over by the draft.
(SE) Nancy moans.
George: Hold on, Nancy... Tom, let's put her here.
(SE) Putting Nancy down.
Nancy: Thank you...
Tom: Where'd the Father go?
George: He probably left because of the commotion with the Zombies.
Tom: No, the Father isn't that kind of person. He's very good. He always fed us when we came here.
Nancy: Yes, he was a very good person. AAH... (moans)
George: Hold on (quietly), Nancy. Oh hell, the blood won't stop.
Tom: I'm going to look for some medicine.
George: Tom, do you know where they are?
Tom: I was hurt once and brought here. The Father took me to a distant room and treated the wounds with medicine.
(SE) The sound of the steps of the fleeing Tom.
CHURCH, FAR CORRIDOR
(SE) Tom's approaching steps.
Tom: Is there someone in this room...
(SE) At this time, there is an approaching quiet buzzing.
Tom: What's that sound... it's coming from this room.
(SE) Grabs the handle, turns, the handle and opens with a creak. Suddenly the buzz grows louder.
Tom: AH, bees!
(SE) Slams the door. In the corridor footsteps are heard, George approaches.
George: What's wrong, Tom?
Tom: In the Father's room, bees!
George: What?
Tom: The ones that stung Sally. They have a hive in the room! What do we do? I can't get to the drugs.
George: Tom.
Tom: Huh?
George: We don't need medicine anymore.
Tom: Why?
George: We can't do anything for Nancy.
Tom: No!
George: I've already seen this. One day a patrolman shot a robber and he died.
Tom: George.
George: Nancy has the same wound in her stomach. The artery's damaged, red, sticky blood flowing out which can't be stopped. And the face and lips are completely white, now Nancy is in exactly the same condition.
Tom: No, I won't accept it! George save Nancy! Help her!
George: Tom...
Tom: If Nancy dies, what shall I do? I'll be all alone! I beg you, George! (burst into tears)
George: You idiot! (trembling voice) I don't want her to die. But... but...
Tom: Lord, I beg of you, make Nancy better. If you help, I'll be good and obey. I'll stop stealing in stores. I won't cry, even if I starve for three or four days. I beg... I plead of you, my God. Nancy is mine, my real sister.
(SE) Tom is crying.
CHAPEL
(SE) Nancy moans. George goes to her.
George: Nancy.
Nancy: (groans) Tom. Where?
George: Praying for you.
Nancy: I'm sorry, Tom. I was to blame, now I get what I deserve for it.
George: What are you talking about, Nancy.
Nancy: I have a postcard in my pocket... Pull it out.
George: A postcard? ...In your right trouser pocket?
Nancy: Yes. Read it.
George: (reading) To my dear Tom. From your mom, Kathleen. (surprised) From Tom's mother? She turned out to be alive?
Nancy: Yes... Read the text before that too.
George: (reads) Tom, you must have been surprised at this unexpected postcard. I ask you to forgive your mother for everything that happened before. What do I apologize for? For leaving you. In fact, I've been wanting to see you for two years, but where I've been, it was impossible to meet. What's she talking about?
Nancy: (groans) I think it's probably a prison.
George: There's more... (continues reading) But finally, I can see you. I want to see you. I want to see you so badly. And when we meet, I want us to live together. But I still do not know where you are. So I've given this card to the Father from the church in Raccoon City. I sincerely hope that God will help us and bring us together. Your mother now lives in Kent City. (coming off the postcard) Kent City, that's the next city over. (continues reading) When you read this card, ask the Father to take you to me. I will wait forever. From your loving mother. (End of Postcard) What were you gonna to do with this postcard?
Nancy: The Father gave it to me five days ago.
George: Five days ago? Did you show it to Tom?
Nancy: Nope.
George: Why?
Nancy: At first I was going to show it right away. And I myself was delighted with this. But, as a result, she couldn't… (groan)
George: Nancy, hold on.
Nancy: I thought that if he left, I'd be alone.
George: I understand you, Nancy. I understand perfectly (sobs)
Nancy: I'm a fool too. If I'd shown the card five days ago, Tom would've already... It's all my fault, I left him in this hell. Forgive me, I'm sorry.
George: Say nothing more. Nothing.
Nancy: George, please. Take Tom to Kent City. And help him meet his mom. I beg you.
George: What're ya talking about. We'll take him away together. And then Tom, his mom, you and I will live together, the four of us. That's how it'll be.
Nancy: (groans) George... my eyes are getting foggy, I can't see anything. You promise me. Take Tom, please.
(SE) Nancy goes limp and suddenly stops breathing.
George: Nancy... hold on. Nancy!
(SE) Tom's approaching steps.
Tom: George, Nancy, how? ...She died?! Is she dead?! AHHHH
Tom starts to cry loudly.
George: Don't cry, Tom! Don't cry! (sobbing)
BELL TOWER
(SE) BONG! BONG! The bells ring out. George and Tom arranged to toll the bells.
George: Tom, ring them more, and loudly! So Nancy can hear in Heaven, louder!
Tom: (in tears) Nancy! ...Nancy!
(SE) The bells continue to ring.
George: Nancy, I'll fulfil your request no matter what. I'll take Tom to Kent City.

THE FOURTH NIGHT - LET'S CROSS THIS BRIDGE!
BRIDGE CROSSING, OUTSIDE
(SE) A draft blows. With a creak the door opens, George and Tom exit.
George: It's all right. There are no Zombies. Come on, Tom.
Tom: George.
George: Our friends are dead. Sally, Ken and Nancy. It seems there's nobody left alive in the city. Raccoon City has plunged into a nightmare. But, we're still alive. We've survived everything that's been thrown at us.
(SE) At this time, a roar is heard from the church and flames burst, the church begins to burn.
Tom: George, the church is on fire!
George: I set it on fire.
Tom: You?
George: Nancy died from Ken's shot. She shouldn't become a Zombie. But if we leave her that way, Zombies can eat her. I can't allow that. So I set it on fire. I arranged for her a luxurious funeral. Nancy deserves that.
Tom: Ah, George, look! By the burning church, what's that?
George: A balloon!
Tom: A hot air balloon?!
George: Something's written on it. This balloon is property of the Umbrella Corporation.
Tom: A man is looking at us, he's in the window! Wait a minute! Take us with you!
George: Hey! There's a child here. Take us with you! HEEEYYYY!
(SE) The two run after the balloon.
Tom: It's useless! He's going higher and higher!
George: Shit! He looked right at us and acted like it's not his problem. It's because of them that the city's turned into such a hellhole, but they're not in a hurry to save us.
(SE) A shot from the shotgun was heard.
George: I won't forgive you! I'll fucking kill you!
Tom: George, stop it. They're living people. Stop it!
George: Tom...
(SE) At that moment, the sound of a crashing window rings out.
Tom: Ah, on the balloon the window broke!
George: Zombies! This moron took a zombie on board, and it attacked them.
Tom: Aww, careful! The balloon's coming down!
George: Those who have become Zombies inside, they are going to come out of there!
Tom: Hey, he's falling! The balloon falls over there!
George: Let's go, Tom! Move!
(SE) The sound of the steps of two people. At this moment, a loud squeak is heard. With a terrible screech, the balloon falls to the ground, a big explosion is heard. George and Tom are thrown by the blast wave.
Both: AAAA!
(SE) The balloon falls with a huge crash.
George: Tom, you OK?
Tom: George, look! Zombies have caught fire, they're coming here!
(SE) UUUUH... There are moaning voices and zombie steps.
George: You undead freaks!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Shots from a shotgun.
George: Tom, run! There ahead for the Heaven Bridge, as soon as we cross it, we'll get out of Raccoon. Run!
(SE) BANG! BANG!
(SE) Tom and George are running.
George: Look, the bridge is still intact.
Tom: But the overturned burning cars have blocked the road, we can't move them.
George: We'll think of something.
(SE) At this time shuffling and moaning is heard, a crowd of Zombies is approaching.
Tom: The Zombies are coming, George.
George: I count 30, I only have 25 rounds. Okay, we can do this. Let's get across the bridge, Tom!
(SE) At that moment a Cerberus appears, growling and rushing at George.
Tom: It's a Cerberus, look out!
George: AAH!
(SE) Shotgun shots are heard. BANG! BANG! But the Cerberus doesn't even slow down, it leaps at George and knocks him to the ground.
George: AAH! Let go! Let go!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Sounds of shots. The dog falls down.
George: (out of breath) Shit. It bit me.
Tom: Are you alright? Your hand is covered in blood.
(SE) Shuffling and groaning, the crowd of Zombies is approaching.
George: T... Tom... Quickly, get out of here.
Tom: What??
George: I was bitten by the Cerberus. So I'm gonna become a Zombie.
Tom: No!
George: That's why I can't go with you. You have to go alone.
Tom: I don't wanna. I don't wanna go!
George: Don't argue. You must survive. You get across the bridge, I'll hold off the Zombies for the time being.
Tom: But...
George: Don't stall. Now get out of here, run like crazy to Kent City. Your mom lives there.
Tom: What??
George: I read it on a postcard. It was from your mom. Your mom wants to live with you. And you want that too, right? This is what Nancy wanted. No, not just Nancy, but all of us who have no family.
Tom: George...
George: Quick.
Tom: George!
George: Move now! Do I need to kick you to get moving?
(SE) Shuffling and groaning, Zombies are surrounded.
George: Run faster, I said!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Shots from a shotgun.
Tom: George…
(SE) In tears, Tom starts crossing the bridge.
George: (trembling voice) Tom... Live happily with your mom. Nancy, did I do well? Nancy!
(SE) Zombies have surrounded George.
George: Fuck off you rotten freaks! Go to hell!
(SE) Shotgun shots are heard. Zombies fall one after another. But they don't end and continue encircling.
George: Shit! Shit!
(SE) George continues to shoot.
ON THE OPPOSITE SHORE
(SE) Tom is running, gasping.
Tom: George! I ran across the bridge. I'm out!
(SE) BANG! BANG! Shots continue to ring on the opposite side.
George: (On the other side of the bridge) Run, Tom! Don't look back! AAAAH!
Tom: George!
(SE) After that everything is quiet. The only noise is the flowing river.
Tom: George... George...
(SE) Tom leaves the bridge with tears in his eyes and goes onward.
DESERT ROAD
(SE) A strong wind is rising. Tom is walking.
Tom: The dust is making it difficult, can't see anything. I'm scared... I'm afraid...
(SE) Tom cries and goes onward.
IN THE FOREST (NIGHT)
(SE) The singing of insects. Dogs howl in the distance. Tom is now staggering.
Tom: Where I... I'm tired, everything, I cannot go any further... Nancy...
(SE) The sound of a falling body.
(SE) The buzzing of insects. On the opposite side a large truck drives up. Suddenly a sharp creak of brakes is heard. The driver's door opens from it a middle-aged man jumps out, and runs over.
Truck Driver: Hey boy, what's wrong with you? Why you lying here? Hold on, boy!
(SE) Tom groans.
Driver: Thank God, you're alive. I almost knocked you down, it's dangerous.
Tom: (unconscious) Mom...
Driver: We'll find her. So you're lost. Where's your family?
Tom: In Kent... Kent City
Driver: Kent City? Then they're on the way. I'll take you there. Wow, you're lucky. Here we go.
(SE) The Driver sits Tom in the truck on the passenger seat; he gets in and starts the engine.
INSIDE THE TRUCK
Driver: Tell me boy, how'd ya get lost in this place? You're thirty kilometres from Kent City.
(SE) But Tom doesn't answer. Only his quiet breathing can be heard.
Driver: Don't worry; I'm not going to scold you. You rest easy and sleep.
(SE) The driver turns on the radio. Country style music plays quietly.
Driver: Sky's bright in the west, is there something burning there? Seems like it's in the Raccoon area. It looks like a massive fire. Definitely something big's burning. The citizens are probably very worried.
Tom: Mom...
Driver: Huh? Guess you talk in your sleep too? Don't you worry. We'll be at your mom's soon.
(SE) The truck leaves. Silence reigns with the singing of insects.
END
(After ten minutes of silence, the sound of the truck hitting something, swerving and crashing blares out.)
