STRELATS
A C-Virus carrier reborn after mutation. Strelats means "archer" in an Eastern European language.
It intensely threatens anyone who invades its territory and attacks by spraying gas or ejecting deformed needle-like parts of its body. It often runs away when approached at point-blank range. Their crawling around on walls and ceilings makes them look like a lizard.
There's a note from a BSAA member who actually fought a Strelats.

While we were struggling to capture it, one of my squadmates got skewered in the leg by one of its needles. I'm glad he wasn't in serious danger, but...
Though we somehow managed to kill it with a barrage of gunfire once we saw an opening, we'll have to watch out for that speed and needle attack in the future."

Ｃ-ウィルスの感染者が、変異の果てに生まれ変わった姿。ストゥレラツとは、東欧の言葉で「射手」を意味する。
テリトリーに侵入してきた者を激しく威嚇し、ガスを噴射したり、針のように変形した身体の一部を飛ばして攻撃してくる。至近距離まで接近すると、逃げ出すことが多い。壁や天井を這いずり回る姿は、トカゲそのものである。
実際にストゥレラツと交戦したBSAA隊員の手記が残っている。

STRELATS
The Strelats is a creature that results from high-level mutation brought on by exposure to the C-Virus. Strelats is derived from the Serbian word for "archer."
This creature's primary function is to frighten off invaders, either by expelling a gas or dagger-like pieces of its own body. When an enemy gets in close range to these creatures, they tend to turn tail and run away.
Like many lizard species, they can climb up walls and crawl on ceilings.
Below is a note written by a BSAA member who came into contact with the creature.

We ran into that lizard thing the other day. Finn was right, it's a fast son of a bitch. It runs all around shooting fucking spikes from its body and it got one of our guys in the leg with one. He'll live though.
We were able to kill it, but I sure don't wanna see another one of those any time soon.
