PLANT 42 NOTES
It's been four days since that accident.
The growth rate of the point 42 plant (named Plant 42) is astonishing. Compared to other plants, Plant 42 was so intensely affected by the "t-Virus" that it's already difficult to imagine what the host plant used to be.
Even if we scoured the earth for an ecology appropriate to its form, none exist.
Plant 42 has two sources of nutrition.
One is nourishment attained from its roots that reach down into the basement.
Since that deranged employee destroyed the large flood tank in the underground area soon after the accident, it's flooded now. It's not hard to imagine certain chemical ingredients that leaked there are promoting Plant 42's rapid growth.
In addition a part of Plant 42 passed along a duct from the basement, extending its influence even on the first floor ceiling, becoming bulb-like and hanging there. The many vines spreading from the bulb also serve as a means of acquiring other nourishment.
If Plant 42 senses prey, it'll precisely manuever its vines like the feelers of a cuttlefish in order to twist around prey and immobilize them, then suck their blood with sucklers attached to the back of its vines. And it seemingly appears to have some intelligence, as when obtaining prey or sleeping, it wraps its vines around the door to prevent outside hostiles from entering.
Several employees have already fallen victim to it.
According to those who've come back alive, when its petals open, a hidden segment is exposed and it becomes more aggressive. One person reported it's as if it's protecting something. Although there seems to be some sort of secret to this, what a plant's thinking isn't something a human can comprehend.

ポイント42のプラント（プラント42と命名）の成長速度には目を見張るものがある。プラント42は、他のプラントに比べ、「t-ウィルス」の強い影響を受けており、もはや宿主の植物が何であったのか想像することすら困難である。
その形状に見合う生態は、地球上のどこを探しても存在しない。
プラント42の栄養源は、二種類ある。
一つは、地下室まで達した根から得ている養分だ。
現在、地下エリアは事故があった直後、発狂した職員が、地下の大水槽を破壊した為、地下エリアは水浸しだ。そこに流出している何らかの薬品成分が、プラント42の急速な成育を促している事は想像に難くない。
また、プラント42の一部は、地下室からダクトを通り、一階の天井にまでその勢力を広げ、そこに球根状となってぶら下がっている。その球根から伸びている何本ものツルが、もう一つの養分の入手手段となっている。
プラント42は獲物を感知すると、丁度イカの触手の様に獲物にツルを巻きつけ動けなくしてから、ツルの裏についている吸入器官で血を吸うのだ。しかも、それなりに知能があるらしく、獲物を得た時や睡眠中は、ツタを扉にからませ、外敵の侵入を防いでいる。
既に数人の職員がその犠牲となった。
生きて戻ってきた者の話を総合すると、花弁が開く際に、隠されていた部分が露出し、一段と攻撃性が増すらしい。ある者の報告によると、まるで何かを守っている様だと言う。そこに、何かの秘密があるように思えるのだが、なにぶん植物の考えることは、人間には理解できるものではない。

Four days have passed since the accident.
The plant at Point 42 is growing at an amazing rate. Although there are many unknown aspects about this plant, we know that in comparison with the other group of plants, the T-Virus has had a substantially stronger affect on this one. The T-Virus has drastically morphed its host's anatomy as well as its size.
Looking at its current state, it's difficult to imagine its original appearance. Nowhere on Earth will you find anything like it.
We've also found that PLANT 42 has two main source of acquiring its necessary nutrients.
One source is through its root. Somehow it has rooted itself down into the basement.
Immediately after the accident, a scientist went mad and destroyed the Aqua Ring. Ever since, the basement has been like a pool. There is a high possibility that it's one of the chemicals in the water that's promoting the PLANT 42's rapid growth. However, we have yet to determine the specific chemical.
A bulb-like body of the PLANT 42 has been sighted hanging from the ceiling of the first floor. We are sure that it used the air ducts to reach the first floor. Numerous long tentacle-like vines are protruding from the bulb. We believe the vines are the second means of acquiring its nutrients.
When the PLANT 42 senses prey, it uses the tentacle-like vines to capture its prey. After doing so, suckers on the vine drain the prey of its blood. We've also noticed that it has some intelligence. When it captures its prey or when it's inactive, the vines twine around the door to stop possible intruders.
Unfortunately, a several of our scientists have already fallen victim to this PLANT 42.
When we heard the stories from the survivors, they all observed one thing in common: When the uniform petal-like flaps open and reveal its vital internals, it has a tendency to become more aggressive. One witness reported that it was as if it was trying to protect itself. Why it behaves the way it does is still unknown.
