A century ago, Mother was unable to save you from the Spanish flu.
Back then, Mother was a mere helpless girl.
But now at last... I can bring you back to life after you were trapped within the "Mycetorrhiza".
I will restore Rose using the Mycetorrhiza's controller, the Grail, in an effort to test your vitality...
And then I shall fuse her with the Mycetorrhiza.
My long-awaited "ceremony" will finally come to pass!
After mourning you...
I discovered the Mycetorrhiza by chance, within a cave I had wandered into while looking for a place to die.
When I touched the "black substance" oozing out of it, a massive amount of "knowledge" cascaded into my head.
It was the residual consciousnesses of all the dead who had been decomposed and consumed by it up to that point.
I thought to myself.
If your consciousness had been stored within the fungus, it should be possible to bring you back in favorable condition.
That turned out to be correct... If only I had a "vessel" that could adapt to the Mycetorrhiza.
When I returned to the village, I inoculated the villagers with the fungus and manipulated their minds so they would worship me, Mother.
It was a convenient method for conducting human experiments.
I used hundreds of people in my experiments, all for the sake of creating the vessel.
To make it more efficient, I also created a parasite as a vector of infection from nematodes, which I call a "Cadou", but...
The research failed to pan out so well.
There were a few semi-compatible cases, such as Alcina, but most devolved into senseless Lycans.
I also provided the fungus and your embryo to an organization who wished to collaborate on research.
The result of that was the defective Eveline.
Even so, it paid off when I learned of information about Rose from them.
I am convinced she is the vessel I have been seeking.
There were a few interferences, but I have "verified" Rose.

わたしは思った。
菌の中にあなたの意識が保存されているなら再び復元することだって、できるはず。
そう…菌根に適合する「器」さえあれば。
村に戻ると、村人どもに菌を植え付けて母さんを崇拝するよう、意識操作した。
そのほうが人体実験を行うのに都合が良いから。
「器」を作るため、何百人も実験に使ったわ。
効率化のために、線虫から「カドゥ」という感染を媒介する寄生体も作ったけど…
研究はうまくいかなかった。
稀にオルチーナみたいな半適合例もあったけどほとんどは、理性のないライカンに成り果てた。
研究協力したいという組織に菌と、あなたの胚を提供したこともある。
結果は出来損ないの「エヴリン」だったけど。
でも奴らからローズの情報を知ったのは収穫。

After I lost you I was so stricken with grief that I wandered into a cave to die... I so wanted to be with you again. And that's when I found it.
The Megamycete! Completely by accident!
When I touched the black substance my mind was overcome with knowledge.
The Megamycete breaks down and absorbs the consciousness of those who have perished.
I knew that if your consciousness was in there too then there would be a way to bring you back.
I just needed the right vessel...
When I returned to the village I implanted the villagers with mold from the Megamycete.
That way I could control them, experiment on them.
I have experimented on hundreds of people just to find you the perfect vessel.
I even tried to increase the efficiency of finding a vessel by creating a parasite I called Cadou...
Yet none of my experiments came to fruition.
There were some, like Alcina, who were close to being perfect, but most turned into lycans.
I was once approached by an organization who said they would assist me. I gave them some of the mold and your DNA.
But all they created was another defect, Eveline.
Then again, not a complete failure. I learned of Rose thanks to them and I knew she would be the perfect vessel.
There was some interference, but I was able to verify her suitability. Now my research is finally complete.
Eva... I have waited for too long to see you again.
