We have unearthed it at last... this new virus!
We have named this new discovery "Progenitor."
I hope to take it back with me and commence a detailed examination as swiftly as possible.

My partner Spencer brought up that he is "establishing a company."
Well, as long as I can study Progenitor, I cannot say I really care.
...He can do as he pleases.

Spencer says he is setting up a training school and proposed that I be its director.
I am not sure if it is due to the business, but the man is becoming pushy.
However I may be able to use this to my advantage.
I will require a special place in order to study this virus with so many unknowns.
A special place where no one can disturb me...

Spencer's men... they complained to me again today.
They think of Progenitor as nothing more than a tool for yielding more profit, the height of foolishness.
But it will not be good for my research if that lot's voice of influence continues to grow stronger. I must do whatever it takes to attain Progenitor's commercial viability, and ensure my research is concrete...

At last, I have finally struck upon it...
I am on the cusp of developing a new virus strain based on Progenitor.
After many experiments, the deciding factor was combining it with leech DNA.
This will prove to be the first "t" success case.
It will be the first improved Progenitor strain.

It's hopeless! I cannot expect any further progress experimenting on guinea pigs.
Unless I use humans as the mammalian host, my research will remain at a standstill and never proceed to the next stage...

It appears someone in the facility has taken notice of my experiments.
...But I have nothing to be concerned about.
If they get in my way I will simply ask that they "assist" my experiments.

I will have William and Albert smoke out the dogs for the time being...
Those two are the only people I can trust, other than my adorable little leeches.

Spencer keeps asking me to be the director of his new training facility.
Maybe it's because of the business, but he's becoming intolerably pushy.
But, maybe i can turn this to my advantage.
I need a special facility to properly explore all this Virus' secrets.
A place where no one will get in the way...

Damn that Spencer... He came to complain to me again today.
He thinks of "Progenitor" as nothing more than a money-spinning tool. Fool!
But if his influence continues to grow, it can only be bad for my research.
If I'm to properly develop "Progenitor", I must strengthen my own position too.

At last...I've discovered a way to build a new virus type with "Progenitor" as a base.
Mixing it with leech DNA was the breakthrough I needed...
I call this new virus t, for "tyrant".

It's no good!
I can't hope for real progress by experimenting on mere rodents.
Only humans are a proper mammalian subject for these experiments.
Otherwise, I'll never make any real progress...

Someone seems to suspect something about my experiments...
