CARLA RADAMES
Carla Radames is the discoverer of the C-Virus and a confidant of Derek C. Simmons.
After completing a university doctoral course at 15-years-old, she was scouted by a laboratory owned directly by Simmons' foundation, where she devoted her time to B.O.W. and virus research. Simmons was fond of Carla's gifted intelligence and the results of her research, and she in turn devoted herself to Simmons due to him giving her the acclaim she deserved.
Carla became infatuated with Simmons and committed herself to developing the C-Virus out of a single-minded desire to be of service to him, but for Simmons, she was merely another pawn in his games to the very end. Before long, Simmons chose her to be a test subject for "replicating Ada", bringing her life as "Carla Radames" to an end.
Carla didn't begin developing the C-Virus until about 2001. A note Carla left behind in the Quad Tower confirms the surprising roots of the C-Virus.

"I was able to procure t-Veronica, a virus since rendered innocuous and due to be disposed of. Simmons entrusted me with the task of researching new types of bioweapons, and for the time being I have decided to commence by improving this one.
Initially I had succeeded in selecting for only the "DNA mutating property", the ultimate trait of the Progenitor Virus which was strengthened when the t-Virus came into the world.
Through improving upon this many times over combined with t-Veronica, I was able to develop "t-02" which canceled out its biggest defect of intense brain cell rejection.
Originally, in order for t-Veronica to adapt to the human body without rejection, it was essential to undergo a long cryogenic sleep following injection in order to sustain symbiosis and immunity. My creation t-02 has overcome that problem however. Now if I can successfully synthesize it with the G-Virus extracted from Sherry Birkin, I will have completed a supreme virus.
Although I can't tell how many more years it will take, I'll make it happen at any cost so that I can live up to Simmons' expectations."

カーラは心酔するシモンズの役に立ちたい一心でＣ-ウィルスの発展に尽くしたが、シモンズにとっては所詮コマのひとつに過ぎなかった。やがて彼女はシモンズによって「エイダの再現」のための実験体に選ばれてしまい、「カーラ・ラダメス」としての人生に幕を下ろしたのである。

Carla Radames was responsible for the discovery of the C-Virus, and a close confidant of Derek C. Simmons. A prodigy in her youth, Carla completed a doctorate course in genetics when she was only fifteen, after which she was recruited by Derek to work for him manufacturing viruses and B.O.W.s. Derek praised her for her intelligence and successful research, and his praise increased her devotion to him. One way she tried to earn his praise was by developing the C-Virus. As it would turn out, she was nothing more than a tool for him to accomplish his goals. The person Carla Radames ceased to exist when she was used against her will in Derek's experiment to recreate Ada Wong.
Carla began work on the C-Virus in 2001. Below is a note written by Carla, found in the Quad Tower, detailing the origins of the C-Virus.

I was able to get a hold of the now-harmless T-Veronica virus, and I've decided to use it as a base for my research into new viral weaponry.
First, I succeeded in extracting only that which causes sudden DNA mutations, a characteristic that has become stronger ever since the original Progenitor Virus. Combining this with the T-Veronica, I've eliminated any chance of brain cell damage, which was a major flaw of the virus. I call this combination "T-02."
Before, if the T-Veronica virus was injected into a subject, that subject had to undergo a long sleep at ultra-low temperatures in order to slowly adapt to the virus and avoid brain damage due to sudden mutation. However, with T-02, this is no longer necessary.
Now, if I can just combine it with a sample of the G-Virus taken from Sherry Birkin's body, I'll have the perfect virus. I don't know how many years it will take, but I'll do all I can to make Simmons proud.
