Mother of Sherry and wife of the leading man in G-Virus research, William Birkin.
Annette delivered their daughter Sherry two years before William discovered "G." Even after becoming a mother, she threw herself back into research out of love for her husband, however, a biohazard spread across the entire city and Annette contacted her daughter just before and instructed her to evacuate to the police station.
On her way to meet Sherry, Annette encountered Ada who was after G, the result of the couple's research, and attacked her.
Although she suspected Leon of also being a spy on that occasion since he protected Ada, when she learned that William was pursuing Sherry, she gave Leon information to help her daughter and hardened her determination to kill her husband.

Ｇ-ウィルス研究の第一人者であるウィリアム・バーキンの妻で、シェリーの母親。
ウィリアムが「Ｇ」を発見する2年前に娘のシェリーを出産。母親となった後も、夫を愛するあまり研究に没頭したが、生物災害が街全体に広がる直前、アネットはシェリーに連絡をとり、警察署に避難するように指示した。
シェリーに合流する途中、アネットは夫婦の研究成果であるＧを追うエイダに遭遇し、彼女を襲撃した。
その際、エイダを庇ったレオンにもスパイの疑いを抱くが、シェリーがウィリアムに追われている事を知ると、娘を助ける為の情報をレオンに伝え、夫を倒す決意を固める。
