ALEX'S NOTES / SPENCER
With the plan’s success close at hand, I’ll make note of that miserable old man who died incapable of fulfilling his life-long ambition.
That's right. I'm talking about Lord Spencer, the man who utterly ruined my life.
He had amassed vast wealth and power in this world.
Then as his next ambition, he considered forcing this world to evolve into another of his own design.
He believed feckless humans were expendable and that the ideal new world order he sought should be populated only by chosen, gifted humans.
He was likely trying to become a "god" in that sort of new world.
Next, he gathered gifted children from all over the world and forced them to undergo grueling training in order to improve their mental and physical health.
In order to ascertain whether they were qualified to inhabit his new world, he even tested their resistance to a virus.
The children were screened out until only Albert and I… Alex, were the last ones standing.
Spencer had issued commands to myself and Albert.
“Toil as my hands and feet to help me become a god.”
We obeyed his orders.
But we were aware of something.
There was no reason for either of us to obey a foolish, disease-ridden fossil.
All we had to do was respond with feigned loyalty, and we'd be the ones to take advantage of the old man’s wealth and power.
Spencer died at Albert’s hand.
A farcical end befitting an old man bewitched by insatiable greed.
And now that I have what I need, I understand.
Now I know how the old man and my brother felt.
I'm a chosen one, just like them.
I'm the last one left to change the world.

計画の成功を目前に、志半ばで死んだ惨めな老人のことを記しておく。
そう。私の人生を大きく狂わせた存在、スペンサー卿についてだ。
彼は、この世界で莫大な富と権力を手に入れた。
そして、次なる野望として、この世界を自分の望む存在へと進化させることを考えていた。
彼の求める理想的な新たな世界の秩序とは、選ばれた優秀な人間のみで構成される社会であり、そこには無能な人間など必要ない、と考えていた。
そんな新世界で《神》になろうとしていたのだろう。
次に彼は、世界中から才能あふれる子供たちを集め、精神と肉体を高めるための過酷な訓練を強要した。
さらに新しい世界の住人としての資格があるかを試すため、ウィルスを使った耐性試験まで行った。
子供たちはふるい落とされ、最終的に残ったのは二人、アルバートと、私…アレックスだけだった。
スペンサーは、アルバートと私に命じた。
「私が神になるために手足となって働け」と。
私たちは、彼の命令に従った。
しかし、私たちは気づいていた。
我ら二人が、病魔に侵された愚かな老人に従う理由などひとつもない。
全ては、偽りの忠誠で応え、私たちこそ老人の富と力を利用させてもらおう、と。
そんなスペンサーは、アルバートの手で殺された。
果てなき欲に魅入られた老人に相応しい滑稽な最期だった。
そして、今、必要なものを手に入れた私は理解した。
今なら、あの老人や兄の気持ちが理解出来る。
私こそ、彼らと同じ選ばれた人間なのだ。
世界は、最後に残された私が変えるのだ。

On the verge of my plans coming to fruition, I can't help but reminiscence about my past. In particular, the foolish old man who made me who I am.
I speak of course, of Lord Oswell E. Spencer. He had it all. He commanded wealth and power at his fingertips. But it wasn't enough for him. No, he wanted more. He felt this world was in ruin, and that mankind was on a path of ultimate destruction. He wanted to create a new world filled with order. This world would have no use for the weak, foolish masses. He wanted to make a race of advanced humans in a perfect utopia, and he would rule over this new world as its god.
To those ends, he collected gifted children from all over the world. To train their minds and bodies to be the chosen ones for his new world, they were subjected to hellish tests of endurance. And they were injected with a virus, to see if they were truly fit to rise above humanity.
Sadly, most of them weren't. And so they died, one by one, until only two remained. Albert and myself. The last of the Wesker Children.
Spencer placed all his hopes on us. He tasked us with the burden of making him a god. And foolishly, compulsively, we scrambled to follow his orders.
Eventually we both realized that we had zero obligation to obey a stupid, decrepit old man. Our loyalty was a ruse, and we continued our duplicitous use of his vast resources. Eventually, with Albert on the verge of completing his own plans, he snuffed out the old skinflint's life with his bare hands. A fitting end. So now, on the verge of my own triumph, I've come to better understand how Albert must have felt. And maybe even the old man as well.
After all, I am one of the chosen. I am the last one.
The right to become a god is now mine.
