This translation is based on the "final draft" scriptbook written by Noboru Sugimura and Hideki Kamiya in early 1997 after scrapping the original "BIO HAZARD 2" (1.5) when its quality was found unsatisfactory. Before Sugimura joined, the scenario had no formatting, so it was hard to understand or share a standardized image among the development team. FLAGSHIP was formed soon after the script's completion, and Shinji Mikami didn't learn of the four scenarios until the meeting to finalize it.

This script unified the formatting to make it interesting to read and form a definitive image of the plot. It was used for translating and recording the game's dialogue, first upon completion, then a second time for any additions or changes in production, although there are still some holdovers in the final localization. These changes weren't expected by Sugimura, making him alter CODE:Veronica. He was told by Yoshiki Okamoto that this sort of thing was common in game development. Years later, Yasuhiro Seto revisited this script for Darkside Chronicles. Excerpts from a later translated draft were published in the Resident Evil 2 Survival Guide by GameFan in 1998.

The scriptbook's structure is similar to the subject of one of our earlier articles for the Dino Crisis 2 scriptbook. Split into four chapters detailing the four scenarios--two each for Leon and Claire like in the final game. Each chapter's separated into multiple "scenes" detailing each event taking place. It focuses largely on progression and dialogue, addressing gameplay only in surface detail. Compared to the final product, the structure's very similar: it starts out on the city streets with a fateful encounter between Leon and Claire, they take shelter in the police station, move on to the sewers for safer passage, and finally head towards the Umbrella's Pharmaceutical Plant, although they do take an unexpected detour to a familiar place along the way.

Translated by MissSnuggleButt. Below, you can read the complete translation of the entire script by scenario, with some further analysis following. This endeavor wouldn't have been possible without the contributions of many in our community, including jungle_penguins, Alex Veltro, Zenkure, TheSelfishGene and Alzaire. URLs to other language translations by our affiliates will be added in due course.

LEON A
Leon’s story (1st part)

1. Biohazard 1 Recap

Late night – a mansion emerges from a dense forest.

Overlay “A strange incident occurred in the outskirts of Raccoon City located in the rural United States. It involved zombies created by the T-virus which was the result of research secretly conducted by the international corporation, Umbrella.”

S.T.A.R.S. members being attacked by zombies.

Overlay “Raccoon City’s special police unit S.T.A.R.S. immediately carried out their investigation, and the case was apparently closed thanks to the efforts of members Chris and Jill.”

Chris fending off a zombie.

Same for Jill.

Overlay “However, Umbrella does not let up, commencing their research on the G-virus, a virus more dreadful than the T-virus.”

2. Main Title

Biohazard 2

3. Prologue (FMV) (Afternoon)

A vast and dilapidated land as far as the eye can see—straight ahead a highway stretches.

An 18-wheeler rolls into scene and comes to a halt, and Leon S. Kennedy (25) gets off.

Leon “Thanks.”

Directing his appreciation towards the driver seat, he starts to walk, a sleeping bag over his shoulder. He is a masculine young man.

Overlay “Leon S. Kennedy, 25-years-old, policeman”

From behind him, a bike approaches.
Leon turns his head upon hearing the noise of the engine, and sees the rider in a full-face helmet—Claire Redfield (20).

Overlay “Claire Redfield, 20-years-old, college student”

Despite their eyes meeting, Claire rides by.

4. On Top of a Hill

Leon arrives. Below lies Raccoon City. A small town tucked away among mountains.

Leon “So that’s Raccoon City. What a run-down little town.”

5. Raccoon City

A town fallen into silence. Leon arrives.

A board says, “Welcome to Raccoon City.”

Not a soul in sight. A gust of wind blows a handful of dust by, and 7 or 8 crows fly down on the road, picking at something. It’s a dead body.

Leon “!”

At the same time, a creepy hand grabs Leon’s shoulder from the back. Turning back, he sees it’s a zombie.

Leon desperately shakes off the zombie, but more and more show up, chasing after him.

Leon runs. And then, “Aaaah!”, in front of him a girl screams—Claire is under attack by a crowd of zombies. Leon immediately pulls out his gun and fires. Bamm! He hits one zombie in the top of its head, and it falls over. Crashing into the crowd without stopping, Leon grabs Claire’s hand, and they start running.

***

Leon and Clare run in the alleyways between buildings. Leon then looks around, gun in hand with wary eyes, and asks:

Leon “What happened in this town?! It’s full of monsters!”

Claire “I passed by you earlier just outside of town…”

Leon “I’m Leon S. Kennedy. Just started out as a cop. I came here just as I was assigned to this town’s police department. Who are you anyway?”

Claire “Claire Redfield. I was heading to my college, but I want to check something with the local police. I haven’t heard from my brother, Chris who’s a member of S.T.A.R.S.”

Leon “I guess we both have something to do with the police then.”

Leon produces a handgun from the sleeping bag in his hand, and

Leon “Take this. It’s a Beretta, so it’s not very powerful, but it’s better than nothing. Where’s your bike?”

Claire “I stopped it over there.”

Leon “Okay. So how about we treat ourselves to a date to the police station?”

Swiftly the two emerge from the shadows and start running.

***

They both jump on the bike. Leon’s on the back seat. They leave like a bat out of hell, blasting through zombies about to attack.

Weaving among zombies, they speed by.

They finally spot a building that has a sign in front saying “Raccoon City Police Station.”

Leon “Over there!”

However, there is a river in front of the station, and the bridge is collapsed in the middle, with black smoke rising up.

Leon “Floor it!”

At full speed, the bike takes flight.

They clear the bridge, but there are cars turned sideways. Skidding, they crash.

Screaming, they are both flung mid-air. Leon lands on the side of the cars closer to the bridge, and Claire on the other.

Leon (springing to his feet) “Claire!”

With multiple crashed cars blocking the way, they are cut off, and they can no longer rejoin.

In the meantime, zombies also spot Leon, and start chasing him.

Leon “We can’t deal with this right now! Head to the station! We’ll meet up there later!”

This is where the game starts.
The gameplay involves evading the hordes of zombies overrunning the city until you reach the inside of the police station.
Leon spots a fire escape tucked away in an alleyway near the old wing of the police station. So he proceeds there.

As he arrives at the fire escape

(cutscene starts)

Leon runs up the entire length of the fire escape.

6. Police Station (Roof)

Leon reaches the top. And as he does, from the rooftop entrance, Cop A rushes out. Leaps on a helicopter standing by, and it starts to ascend.

Then another, Cop B rushes on scene.

Cop B “Wait! Take me with you!” (jumps at the helicopter)

From the weight of Cop B, the helicopter veers off-path.

As hard as he can, Cop A kicks down Cop B.

Cop B falls back down to the rooftop, and in a frenzied rage, he starts to shoot at the helicopter.

Leon (shouting without second thought) “Stop!”

Surprised, Cop B turns his head, but keeps firing as the helicopter ascends.

He shoots Cop A, who is sitting in the pilot seat, through the shoulder, and the helicopter turns sharply. Bang! It destroys the fire escape and pierces the 3rd floor wall, heavily damaging it.

Leon (stares blankly)

At the same time, zombies show up, and attack Cop B.

Cop B “Guwaah!”

Struggling with them, they push him down from the roof to the ground, and all is heard are his shrieks.

Then the zombies turn their attention towards Leon.

(cutscene ends)

While fighting zombies, Leon looks for a way inside the police station. Because the fire escape was destroyed by the helicopter, there is no way back down.

He descends from the edge of the roof towards the 2nd floor, and enters from a ventilation hole. As he enters the station, the first thing he spots is a room containing a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

Afterwards, Leon goes on to investigate rooms on the 1st floor one by one, having descended from the 2nd floor, but he cannot reach the 3rd floor as the stairs are destroyed by the helicopter crashing through the wall.

7. 2nd Floor – Locker Room

As he enters, he finds the locker room for policemen.

On one side, personal lockers line the wall, in the middle there is a huge table with champagne and snacks—a simple little party was prepared with a memo left there.

Leon takes the memo.

8. Memo

To Leon S. Kennedy,

Congratulations on being assigned to the Raccoon City Police Department.
We’ll go easy on you despite being the new guy. Best wishes with your assignment!

From all members of the RPD

9. Room on the 2nd Floor

After filing the Memo,

(cutscene starts)

A man’s groan is heard.
Leon makes his way behind the lockers, and there is a man, Cop C leaning against the wall. Fresh blood covers his abdomen, and he looks to be on the verge of death.

Leon (running up to him) “Hold on!”

Cop C (gasping) “Wh-who are you…? Oh, you’re Leon, the guy who was just assigned here. Sorry. Unfortunately, your party was cancelled.”

Leon “What the hell happened here?!”

Cop C “This town’s already done for. Got overrun by zombies…”

Leon “Zombies?”

Cop C “Two months ago, there was a zombie outbreak in a mansion located at the outskirts of this city. Risking their own lives, Chris and the other S.T.A.R.S. members discovered that Umbrella was behind everything, but no one believed them. And then, it all turned to… ugh…”

Leon “Just hold on!”

Cop C “I-I’m already done for. Leon, once I die, shoot me in the head with your gun. If you don’t, I’ll turn into a zombie.”

Leon “What?”

Cop C “In that locker, you’ll find your new uniform. Please put it on. I want to at least be killed by a fellow cop wearing the same uniform… pl-please.”

Leon “Hey! Don’t give up!”

But Cop C passes away.

Leon notices the locker bearing a nameplate saying, “Leon S. Kennedy”.

Upon opening it, he finds that a police uniform on a hanger and two radios on a shelf are kept in it.

“Leon took the radios.” and with that, the “radio” section opens inside the status screen.

Next, the question “There is a police uniform, will you put it on?” comes up.

If “Yes” is chosen, then Leon will once again stand in front of the dead Cop C now wearing the uniform.

Leon (intently staring down at Cop C) “…no way. Shooting a dead comrade in the head.”

Leon, turning around on his heels, is about to head to the exit of the room.

But in the very same moment, Cop C turns into a zombie, and attacks Leon.

(cutscene ends)

Leon defeats the zombified Cop C, and

(cutscene starts)

Leon “This can’t be…”

(cutscene ends)

If “No” is chosen, the game continues in the same clothes Leon has already been wearing, but even in this case, with the same game mechanic, Cop C turns into a zombie, attacks Leon and then is killed.

10. Same Location – S.T.A.R.S. office

Leon opens the door marked by a sign saying “S.T.A.R.S.” and enters.

Spots a photo of S.T.A.R.S..

Overlay “A photo of the S.T.A.R.S. members.”

Upon further investigation, he finds Chris’s diary.

11. Chris’s Diary

X month X day

Once again, I tried to reason with the chief today, but he just would not believe me. Without a shadow of doubt, Umbrella was conducting experiments with the T-virus in that mansion. But with the mansion going up in flames, no evidence remains either. On top of that, since the town seems to largely live off the Umbrella Pharmaceutical Plant, the people are afraid to open their mouths about anything. What the hell should I do?

X month X day

Lately, strange incidents have cropped up. Word is never-before-seen monsters pop up all around town during the night. No doubt Umbrella’s at it again.

X month X day

With the help of Jill and Barry, I finally got some news. It says Umbrella is gearing up to research the “G-virus”, a new virus even stronger than T. What could this G-virus even be? Anyway, the three of us discussed and decided to head to the European HQ of Umbrella in order to investigate them in utmost secrecy. I won’t contact my little sister about this. I don’t want to put her in danger. Please forgive me, Claire.

12. Same Location – Hallway

Having obtained the radios plus Chris’s Diary, Leon leaves the room, and then

(cutscene starts)

“Leon!” Claire arrives running.

Leon “So you’re safe, Claire. It seems your brother isn’t here after all, so there’s no reason to stick around. We should both look if there are any survivors left, and then immediately leave as quickly as possible.”

Claire “Got it.”

Leon “Oh, yea. I’ve found these. Take one of them. We should keep in touch if anything comes up.”

Overlay “Leon handed the radio over to Claire.”

Claire “Leon, you’ve changed into your uniform. It suits you.”

Leon “Nah...” (flustered)

Claire takes off, and

(cutscene ends)

If Leon does not wear the uniform during the cutscene, the final two lines are omitted.

13. Same Location – Basement 1st Floor

Having finished examining the 1st floor, Leon heads to the parking lot in the basement, and

(cutscene starts)

Bamm! A gunshot rings, and a car’s window right next to Leon shatters into pieces.

Leon immediately dives, hiding behind cover.

Leon “Who’s there?!”

No answer. Cautiously moving from cover to cover, somebody’s arm holding a weight* [gun] can be seen from behind a car.

Leon springs to action, overpowers and pins his opponent to the ground only to find it’s a woman. Ada Wong (26). A breathtakingly gorgeous woman.

Surprised, Leon loosens his grasp without thinking, and then immediately, bamm! Ada fires her gun.

Leon reels back in shock, but what is actually shot was a zombie inching up close behind him.

Ada (standing up) “Sorry about that. I thought you were a zombie because of the uniform.”

And just like that, she tries to walk away.

Leon “Wait! Who are you?”

Ada “Ada Wong.”

Leon “What are you doing here?

Ada “I’ve come to meet a man named Ben. He’s a freelancer. I heard he was locked up in an underground cell here, but this car’s in the way—it won’t move, and I can’t figure out what to do.”

Upon checking the car blocking the way, a message pops up “There is no key, but you might be able to jumpstart it. Will you connect the jumpstart cable?” upon answering “Yes” Leon takes out the jumpstart cable, connects it, the engine roars up, and he backs up with the car, and with that, the route to Basement 2nd Floor becomes accessible.

(cutscene starts)

Ada heads towards the Basement 2nd Floor.

Leon “Ada, wait!” (pulls out his radio) “Claire, respond. The basement 2nd floor became accessible. Follow me that way later.”

Claire’s Voice “Affirmative.”

(cutscene ends)

14. Same Location – Basement 2nd Floor – Lockup

Leon, following after Ada, descends to the Basement 2nd Floor. Examining them one by one, he comes upon holding cells. In one of those is the freelancer Ben (28), lying on a bed.

Leon stands in front of the iron bars, and then

(cutscene starts)

Leon “You must be Ben. Wake up. Wake up!”

Ben (opens his eyes, and lets out a big yawn) “What are you screaming on about?”

Slowly, he walks up to in front of Leon. Ada runs up to the scene.

Leon “Ada, I’ve found Ben.”

Ada “Ben, I’ve heard from the residents of this town that you’ve been spreading info that you know about the incident that’s been going on here. Just what do you know?”

Ben “Who the hell are you?”

Ada “I’m looking for my boyfriend. His name is John. He was at Umbrella’s Chicago branch, but he suddenly disappeared half a year ago. I’ve heard rumours he was in this town.”

Ben “I don’t know anything. Even if I did, that’s my exclusive story. I wouldn’t just tell you all about it.”

Leon “This guy. Anyway, we should leave. Where’s the key to this cell…” (starts looking around)

Ben “Keys are right here.” (pulls them out) “I picked them from that dumb guard. Anyhow, I won’t leave. There’s a monster wandering around that’s much scarier than these zombies.”

In the same moment, a terrible roar echoes within the station.

Leon “What was that?!”

Ben “It’s him. The monster I was talking about!”

15. Same Location – Hallway

In a dim hallway, the feet of a monster coming with resounding steps can be seen, and its uncanny eye.

Its disgusting hand rips apart zombies in its way. It lets out a terrible roar.

It’s G-Boss 1. (we don’t get to see its entire body)

16. Back in the Lockup

Ben, scared, takes shelter in the bed, and pulls the blanket over his head, saying

Ben “Just leave! Leave me alone!”

Leon “Is this really the time for this? I’m the only cop left here, the rest are all dead.”

Ben “What?!” (popping his head from under the blanket)

Leon “If you don’t want to die, you need to leave with us.”

Ben “But do you even know how to get out of this city? There’s an archive room near here. You can get to the surface from there, then you need to somehow reach the sewer entrance. It won’t be easy.”

Ada “Alright, we’ll figure something out.”

Ada runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

After that, no matter how many times you talk to him, Ben will just repeat the bit set in bold.

17. Same Location – Archive Room – Surface

There is a door that says “Archive Room”. To open the door, 3 key items are needed to be obtained: A, B and C.

Once all that is said and done and Leon has collected key items A and B, he gains entrance to the New Wing of the station.

18. New Wing – Room

Leon arrives at a floor under construction. There is a ventilation hole in the corner of the ceiling, Ada is looking up into it. Leon starts talking to Ada.

(cutscene starts)

Ada “I could get above us climbing up there.”

Upon answering “Yes” to “Will you help Ada climb to the floor above?”,

Ada “Give me a boost. I’ll come back once I’ve checked it out.”

Ada stands on Leon's shoulders, and enters the floor above them through the ventilation hole.

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Ada.

19. Same Location – The Floor Above

While defeating some zombies, Ada explores the floor above.

Upon entering a very dark room, she is able to obtain key item C, but that triggers

(cutscene starts)

G-Boss 1 (we don’t get to see its entire body) to appear from the ceiling, and to attack Ada.

She fights back, desperately firing her gun, but that has no effect on the monster as he rapidly approaches her.

Ada “Aaaah!”

20. Same Location – The Floor Below

Leon hears her scream.

Leon “Ada!”

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Leon.

And with that, he starts running up towards the floor above.

21. Same Location – The Floor Above

Leon arrives and is able to enter since Ada has left the area opened up.

Upon entering the room where Ada was attacked by G-Boss 1, she is no longer to be found, but a different kind of monster is, and it attacks Leon. He defeats it, and Leon is at least able to finally gather key items A, B and C now, and can now return to the Old Wing’s Archive Room.

22. Old Wing – Basement – Archive Room – Surface

Leon arrives, uses key items A, B and C, and gains access to the Archive Room.

Shelves line both sides of the narrow passage, and they are filled with evidence from all sorts of cases.

At the room’s innermost part, there is a door, and upon opening it, the sky can be seen right above, and there is an iron ladder leading directly above-ground. Upon trying to climb the iron ladder,

“I have to go back and collect Ada and Ben.” shows up on screen. We can’t climb it yet.

As he tries to go back to the Lockup,

(cutscene starts)

Ben’s voice “Guwaah!”

23. Lockup

G-Boss 1 holds Ben by both of his shoulders, and lifts him in the air. (we don’t get to see its entire body)

He quickly opens his mouth, and a strange, tentacle-like protuberance emerges and thrusts into Ben’s mouth.

Ben makes a pained expression and his feet start thrashing around.

(cutscene ends)

24. Same Location – Archive Room

Leon runs towards the lockup.

25. Same Location – Lockup

Leon springs on scene.

(cutscene starts)

Ben is lying on the ground. Ada also arrives running.

Leon “Ben! Snap out of it, man!”

Ben (regaining consciousness) “Th-that monster…”

Shakily, he stands up, but in the next moment, he starts clutching at his chest in great pain.

Ben “It hurts so much! Guwaah!”

He falls on all fours.

Leon “What’s going, Ben?!”

And then, his chest splits into two with a tearing sound, and from inside some unearthly creature emerges.

It’s the young of G-Boss 1 (of course nobody knows that at this point). It leaps into the air with crazy velocity, and immediately disappears, after bumping into Leon.

Ada “What the hell was that?!”

Leon “Hold on, Ben!”

Ben (panting) “Shit… I hid myself so well, and yet, still got offed.” (turning towards Ada) “You, I’ll tell you what’s going on. This is the scoop I got.”

From his pocket, he produces “William’s Orders”, and hands it to Leon.

Ben “That little baby’s a copy of the orders sent to this station’s police chief by the head of the Umbrella Pharmaceutical Plant, William Birkin.”

Ben “I got my hand on this little baby: a copy of the orders given to this station’s chief by William Birkin.”

[it’s duplicated like that]

26. A Copy of William’s Orders

(Page 1 of Orders)

To RPD’s Mr. Brian Iron Police Chief,

I’ve deposited the usual 10,000 USD to the agreed upon account. Research on the T-virus’s successor the G-virus is close to completion. But until then we need to be careful. Chris and the others are in our backyard already. Snooping around. I want them under constant observation. I’ll leave correspondence to my wife Annette as per usual.

Signed,
William Birkin

(Page 2 of Orders)

To RPD’s Mr. Brian Iron Police Chief,

We have a problem. Umbrella HQ’s board management have sent in spies to steal the G-virus I’m developing. I have yet to find out how many. Do they think I’ll just stand by and let them take away the G-virus I’ve spent long, hard years developing? Have you seen any suspicious individuals enter town? If you notice any, I’d like to see them taken care of. The G-virus is my life. Anyone fucking with it will see no mercy. Even if they belong to Umbrella.

Signed,
William Birkin

27. Back to the Lockup

Ben “It was so strange, I had to get it, what a terrible situation. The chief’s just a pawn of evil. Hahaha… Ugh… A-avange me!

Leon “Hold on, Ben!”

Ben passes on.

Ada stands up and starts walking.

Leon “Where are you going, Ada?!”

Ada “To Umbrella’s Pharmaceutical Plant. John has to be there too!” (runs off)

Leon “Ada, wait! Fuck!” (pulls out the radio) “Claire, come in!”

Claire’s voice “This is Claire.”

Leon “We’re heading to Umbrella’s Pharmaceutical Plant. Follow us later.”

Claire’s voice “Got it.”

(cutscene ends)

Leon heads towards the archive room, using the door inside, he leaves towards the surface.

28. Same Location – Surface – Town (Night)

The Sun has already completely set.
The gameplay involves arriving at the entrance of the sewers while fighting zombies.
This is a different route to what Claire takes, the entrance is also not the same.

29. Sewers – Entrance (Night)

Upon arriving at the entrance, you find Ada standing there.

(cutscene starts)

Leon “You’re not being reasonable, Ada. Rushing out alone like that. There are more than just zombies in this town. The thing that killed Ben should be around too.”

Ada “I get that.”

Leon “Then don’t act so carelessly. I’m a cop. It’s my job to protect your life. We can’t succeed acting all willy-nilly. We should carry on working together from now on.”

Ada “...I’m sorry. I’ll follow your lead from now on.”

(cutscene ends)

There is an iron ladder with a hatch leading into the sewers they can’t enter.

But there you find an item with which you can enter the still unsearched rooms of the New Wing of the police station. You have to go back once more. This time, if you talk to Ada again, she will repeat the final bit set in bold.

30. Police Station – New Wing (Night)

Leon obtains the item that opens the entrance of the sewers upon searching the still unsearched rooms.

That triggers,

The young of the G-Boss to appear.

Fight with the young.

Upon defeating it, you discover a route that directly leads to the sewers entrance without having to cross the town again. So Leon heads towards the sewers entrance.

31. Sewers – Entrance

Leon, having arrived back, opens the sewers entrance.

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Let’s go. This time we shouldn’t split up at all.”

(cutscene ends)

Leon, with Ada in tow, enters the sewers. Upon entering, there is immediately a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

Getting all set there, when the room is left, it’s immediately followed by

(cutscene starts)

The flash of a gunshot lights up in a hidden corner in front.

Leon “Look out!” (holding Ada, he jumps to the side)

At the same time, bamm! A gunshot echoes, hitting his shoulder, Leon flies back.”

Ada “Leon!”

The assailant’s waning footsteps can be heard.

Leon (with a grimace) “Go, Ada! After them!”

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Ada.

32. Sewers  – 2nd Floor Passageway

Ada arrives. It opens up into an atrium where the 1st floor passageway of the sewers can be seen.

Spy A’s partially skeletonized remains can be seen lying, leaning against the wall there.

(cutscene starts)

Overlay “A skeletonized corpse. Who on earth is that guy?”

And then, the click of a shotgun being loaded is heard from behind, turning around, the barrel of a gun is thrust right into her face. It’s Annette Birkin.

Annette “Don’t move. You’re that woman who was with that cop earlier. What’s your name?!”

Her finger tightens against the trigger of the gun.

Ada “!!!...Ada Wong.”

Annette “Ada Wong? I’ve heard that name before… Yes. When we were developing the T-virus in the mansion, it was John’s lover’s name—he was the researcher who came from Chicago to help.”

Ada “How do you…?! Who are you?!”

Annette “I’m Annette, the wife of the man who created the T-virus, William Birkin.”

Ada “What do you mean?!”

Anette “John’s dead. He turned into a zombie. My condolences. But you’ll die here too. I’m not handing the G-virus over to anybody.”

Ada “What even is the G-virus?”

Anette “A virus that creates the ultimate bio-weapon, and it’s much stronger than the T-virus.”

Ada “The monster that's been ravaging the police…”

Anette “Precisely. That’s my husband William.” (hysterically) “It’s all Umbrella’s fault! If they hadn’t tried to steal my husband’s research, then all this wouldn’t…”

33. Annette’s Recollection

The spy opens a safe, and is about to steal documents and samples of the T-virus and G-virus.

Annette’s voice (VO) “They tried to steal the G-virus my husband developed. Umbrella HQ sent a spy. And so my husband was…”

“Enough!” William jumps out, and they start to struggle, and then Spy A stabs a knife into William’s chest.

Clutching his chest, William falls over.

At that chance, Spy A grabs the samples and documents and runs away.

Then Annette rushes into scene.

Annette “Oh my dear, hold on. I’ll call the medical team!”

William (gasping for air) “I–it’s no use. I can’t be helped anymore. Recover the G-virus samples instead.”

Annette “No! I’ll call someone, alright?” (hurries away)

Annette’s voice “But he wanted to recover those samples at any cost. So he…”

William, crawling with all his might, grabs a G-sample from the desk, and injects it into his own chest.

34. Back to the Sewers (Reality)

Ada “You’re telling me he injected the G-virus into his own body?!”

Anette’s voice (nodding) The G-virus has the ability to revitalise cells. And so…”

35. Annette’s Recollection

Spy A is running in the sewers. And then, behind him a terrible roar echoes.

Startled, Spy A turns around and in front of him stands the G-Boss 1 (we don’t get to see its entire body), sharp claws come down swinging.

Without so much as a noise, Spy A falls over. From his pockets, samples of the T-virus fall out, and get smashed—they flow all over. G-Boss 1, taking the remaining G-samples and documents, disappears into the darkness.

What remains from Spy A’s body is taken over by sewer rats. They approach the remaining sample vials with their noses, and walk about in the spilled fluids.

Then in the darkness of the sewers, countless sewer rats appear.

36. Back to the Sewers – 2nd Floor Passageway (Reality)

Ada “So rats were the infection vector of this incident.”

Annette “Having turned into a bioweapon, my husband has lost all of his human memories by now. And that’s not all. These bioweapons have the power to implant embryos into other living beings and propagate themselves.”

Ada “!”

In that instant, Ada’s leg kicks Annette’s arm.

Bang! The shotgun goes off and falls down to the 1st floor. The two struggle. Annette pushes Ada against the wall, but in the next moment, she loses her balance, screams and falls down to the 1st floor.

Ada “Annette!”

(cutscene ends)

37. Sewers – Passageway

Ada arrives at a passageway and then

(cutscene starts)

In a flash

Stage Boss 1 appears.

And attacks from behind.

Ada “Aaaah!”

38. Sewers – Entrance

That scream is heard by Leon who is leaning against the wall.

Leon “That voice?!”

Clutching his shoulder, he rises up with all his might.

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Leon.

Leon starts running towards the direction where he heard Ada’s voice from.

(This time, if Leon does not go and help Ada, and is slow to reach the area of the fight, Ada will die, and this will result in a Game Over.)

39. Sewers – 2nd Floor Passageway

Leon arrives.

(cutscene starts)

Ada is being attacked by Stage Boss 1.

Leon “Ada!”

(cutscene ends)

The fight with Stage Boss 1 starts.

As Leon begins to attack, Stage Boss 1 turns its attention from Ada to Leon and attacks him. Once defeated, once again

(cutscene starts)

Leon’s face turns into a grimace from his shoulder gunshot wound, and he leans against the wall.

Ada “Leon!” (she comes rushing)

Leon “Shit… this bullet wound from before…”

Ada “Calm down. I’ll take care of you.”

While she treats his wound

Ada “That’s twice now. That you helped me…”

Leon “Don’t mention it.”

Ada “John’s dead.”

Leon “What?”

Ada tries to say something more but stops.

Ada “There, you’re good to go. Let’s just get out of here as soon as possible.”

Both of them stand up.

(cutscene ends)

Leon advances further into the sewers, with Ada by his side.

40. Cable Car – Depot

Exiting the Sewers leads into a cavern where there is a cable car depot.

Leon presses a switch, and the two of them step into a car, and it departs.

41. Inside the Moving Cable Car

As soon as the car reaches halfway,

(cutscene starts)

Suddenly, something shakes the car as it lands on its roof, and with sharp claws pierces through the roof, stabbing into it. It seems to be the G-Boss. It lets out a terrible roar.

(cutscene ends)

Turning towards the roof, Leon fires his gun. After a good few shots, G-Boss lets off and everything falls silent. If you don’t start shooting, ignoring the boss, the two die some way or another, and it results in a Game Over. In the end, the car arrives at a mountainside depot.

42. Caves – Inside

From the depot, the two arrive at the underground cave system from BIO1 that connects to the labs. But after the explosion, only one part of the caves is accessible.

You see the flamethrower used in BIO1 that’s on the hooks. Leon takes it.

Continuing on, they climb an iron ladder leading to ground level.

43. Mansion – Front (Night)

The place they arrive at is the front of the mansion.

Unfortunately, only part of the 1st floor hall of the destroyed mansion remains.

Stepping inside, two giant spiders appear.

(cutscene starts)

Ada “I’ll defeat that one!”

She starts going up the stairs to the 2nd floor facing one of the spiders that appeared.

(cutscene ends)

Leon fights the other giant spider. Upon defeating it, as he climbs the stairs, Ada also ends up defeating the other giant spider, and they start talking.

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Are you okay, Ada?!”

Ada “Somehow we did it.” (smiles) “Like you said, if we work together, there’s nothing to be afraid of.

(cutscene ends)

Once again Ada tags along. Upon examining the passageway at the back of the hall, they find a simple elevator that couldn’t be discovered during BIO1.

Riding it, they descend the hill behind the mansion diagonally.

In front of them is the full view of the night visage of the Umbrella Pharmaceutical Plant.

Overlay “You see Umbrella’s Pharmaceutical Plant.”

Finally, the elevator stops at a marshalling yard and a giant warehouse extending from it, which are in front of the Pharmaceutical Plant.

44. Warehouse and Marshalling Yard (Night)

At the marshalling yard, there are countless rails, freight cars and diesel trains, and in the middle of the marshalling yard, there is a turntable that can turn railroad cars around, and right at its midpoint a diesel train is parked. Leon, upon examining the cockpit, realises there is no lever.

Continuing on, the two head towards the warehouse.

45. Warehouse – 1st Floor

As they enter, they spot the lever, and take it.

(cutscene starts)

Suddenly, they hear a terrible roar inside, and a woman’s scream shrieks.

Leon “What was that?!”

46. Same Location – 2nd Floor Room

With a roar, G-Boss 2 (G-Boss 1 was defeated by Claire in scenario B) grabs both of Annette’s hands, and lifts her up.

Annette “H-help me!”

G-Boss 2 swiftly opens his mouth, and thrusts his tentacle into Annette’s mouth.

47. Same Location – 1st Floor

Ada “Leon!”

The two are about to head towards the 2nd floor, but then breaking the ceiling, G-Boss 2 jumps down.

And starts chasing the two.

Leon “Run, Ada!”

The two run, and end up out front.

48. Same Location – Marshaling Yard

Leon and Ada run up to the turn table. But G-Boss 2 is right on their back.

G-Boss 2 attacks Ada. Swings down with his sharp claws.

Ada “Aaaah!”

With her shoulder split open, she falls on top of the rails.

Leon “Ada!”

(cutscene ends)

Fight against the G-Boss 2. Upon defeating it,

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Ada!” (runs up to her) “Hold on, Ada!”

Ada (panting) “Le-Leon…”

***

The whole situation was observed by Annette from the warehouse’s window.

Annette “M-my dear…”

She leaves shakily.

(cutscene ends)

***

After that, no matter how many times you try to talk to Ada, she just repeats the line set in bold.

Letting Ada rest at the place she fell, Leon sits on the driver seat of the diesel train, and inserts the lever.

The turntable starts to descend underground.

After finally arriving, what lies ahead is the giant lobby of Umbrella’s near-futuristic secret underground lab.

(cutscene starts)

Leon (approaching Ada) “Stay with me, Ada.”

But Ada has completely lost her consciousness.

Leon “Ada… Ada!” (fade out)

49. Same Location – Room A

(Fade in) It’s a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

Ada is regaining her consciousness. Lying on the bed, she looks at Leon.

Leon “You’ve come to, Ada.”

Ada, in trying to sit up, scrunches her face annoyed.

Leon “Not so fast. This is Umbrella’s secret lab. I’ll be back soon with some medicine, just stay here till then.” (about to leave)

Ada “Wait. With this wound, I’ll just slow you down. Just escape on your own.”

Leon “Don’t be silly. I’ve told you it’s my job to protect your life, haven’t I?”

Ada “But at this rate, you too will be…”

Leon (talking over) “Anyhow, we’re leaving together. Just wait patiently. Okay?”

Ada “Leon…”

(cutscene ends)

From this point on, everything leads to the final climax.
At the same time, the giant underground lab is supposed to have zombies and yet-unseen monsters, and heaps of traps set by Umbrella.

Leon searches the laboratory, and in his track, he comes back to this room, and

(cutscene starts)

Ada is nowhere to be found.

Leon “Ada?! Where did you go, Ada?!”

(cutscene ends)

50. Underground Lab – Room A

And so, Leon approaches the final stage closer and closer.
As he heads up from basement 4th floor to basement 3rd floor (opposite to how it normally would be) the first thing he spots is a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box. And then, as he sufficiently geared up…

51. Underground Lab – Basement 3rd Floor – Room

Claire* [Leon] enters the room. This is WIlliam’s personal room.

There is a photo frame on his desk with William, Annette and Sherry captured smiling. Overlay “A photo of William’s family.”

52. Same Location – William’s Lab

Entering the next room, it’s William’s lab.

(cutscene starts)

It’s Annette, mixing chemicals at a lab bench, but startled, turns to face Leon, and

Annette “You!”

She grabs the shotgun nearby and fires at Leon. Bamm!

Dodging, Leon leaps behind cover.

Annette “How dare you kill my husband! Show yourself!” (slowly moves around) “Oh, I know it all too well. I know you’ve come here for one thing only: the G-virus! You think I’d give it to you? It’s the most important thing my husband has left behind!”

In that moment, Leon tries to move out of cover. Facing his direction, Annette fires off. The shot hits a shelf, and it falls over, pinning down Leon. He can’t move.

Annette approaches him laughing.

Annette “Where’s that woman? Ada Wong.”

Leon “?”

Annette “I can’t believe this. You don’t know a thing. Hahahaha, you fucking idiot. That woman’s a spy employed by some organization, and she came to steal the G-virus.”

Leon “No way!”

Annette “It’s the truth. I found out when I looked into her after I came back. She seduced John, became his girlfriend, just to steal Umbrella’s secrets!”

Leon “That’s a lie! Ada isn’t like that!”

Annette “I don’t care if you believe it or not. You’ll die here anyway.”

She lifts the shotgun with a click, about to fire, but then a huge explosion rings, shaking the entire laboratory.

Annette “Wh-what’s going on?!”

At the same time, an announcement fills the entire place.

Announcer “The destruction system has been activated. It cannot be aborted. Anybody inside take shelter immediately.” (repeating)

53. Montage

Fire engulfs everything. Pipes burst open, gases escape all over.

Zombies covered in flames walk about.

Even the turntable is engulfed in flames. In flames, the defeated G-Boss 3 (G-Boss 3 was defeated by Claire) starts shedding its skin. The skin on its abdomen starts shredding, two arms come out.

54. William’s Lab

Annette “It’s that woman. Ada turned on the self-destruction system!”

She is about to rush outside, but suddenly her chest starts bursting, and she starts writhing on the floor.

Annette (with her face contorted) “It hurts!”

Leon “Annette!”

With all his might, Leon pushes the shelf off himself.

In the next moment, Annette’s stomach tears open violently, and young of G-Boss 2 comes out.

It attacks Leon.

(cutscene ends)

Leon defeats the young, and once again

(cutscene starts)

He approaches Annette lying on the ground, and picks up the G-sample that rolled next to her.

Leon “G-virus…”

(cutscene ends)

55. Same Location – The Hallway Outside

As Leon exits, and starts walking away,

(cutscene starts)

Voice “Hold up, Leon!”

A figure appears from the sea of flames. It’s Ada holding a gun.

Leon “Ada?!”

Ada “Leon… don’t be stupid, and hand over the G-virus.”

Leon “So it was true.”

Ada (talking over) “That’s why I told you to escape alone. No matter… hand it over! If you don’t, I’ll shoot you!”

Leon “Ada…”

Ada’s finger tightens on the trigger.

And in that moment, bamm! A gunshot rings from elsewhere, and Ada’s body bends back with a pained cry.

Leon “Ada!”

Ada falls on the ground.

The assailant was Annette on the verge of death crawling on the ground.

Annette “G-G-virus…” (she stops breathing completely)

Leon runs up to Ada lying on the ground.

Leon “Hold on, Ada!”

Ada (gasping) “Le-Leon…”

Lifting Ada’s gun, Leon pulls out the magazine. There are not bullets in it.

Leon “Your gun’s empty. What on Earth was the point of this, Ada? Did you want to be killed by me or what?”

Ada “I was so stupid. Even though I’m a cold-blooded woman, I didn’t want to kill you, and that’s why…” (gasp)

Leon “Ada… who are you really?”

Annette* [Ada] “I’m a nobody, Le-Leon…”

She lets out a weak smile, and passes away.

Leon “Ada!”

After a bit, Leon stands up, grabs the G-virus vial, glares at it, and with all his strength, chucks it into the flames.

The flying vial hits the wall, and gets smashed into pieces.

That triggers a new announcement filling the room.

Announcer “5 minutes remain until detonation. Anybody inside seek shelter with utmost immediacy.”

The countdown has started.

Leon (looking down at Ada) “Good-bye, Ada…”

(cutscene ends)

Leon runs towards the turntable.

But on the way there, Leon runs into G-Boss 4 (G-Boss 2 was defeated in Claire B’s story, what appears here is G-Boss 4 after it shed its skin).

This is the final, all-deciding battle!

If you are unable to defeat it within the time limit, it results in a Game Over.

If it is done within the time limit, Leon instantly heads to the turntable with the clock ticking down.

56. Same Location – Turntable

Leon arrives running, and jumps on the diesel train, and the game is completed.

(cutscene starts)

Upon starting the engine, Claire and Sherry arrive running from ahead.

Claire “Leon!”

Leon (with his head out of the window) “Hurry up, Claire!”

Claire and Sherry jump on the train.

57. Diesel Train

The diesel train starts rushing by.

The remaining time reaches zero, a huge explosion occurs. Flames fill the entire screen in a second, and a violent shake hits the train.

Leon “Claire!”

Leon jumps over and covers Claire and Sherry with his own body.

***

The explosion envelops the entire laboratory.

Walls and pillars crumble into pieces. Among the debris zombies and monsters are covered in flames.

Then the marshaling yard and warehouse above explode in a blink too, a pillar of flame paints the sky.

***

Leon holds the two with all his might.

Finally the shaking abates, and

Claire “We are finally safe, Leon.”

Leon (nodding) “Who is that?”

Claire “Sherry. William and Annette’s little girl. I saved her.”

Sherry “Claire…”

Claire gently holds her shoulders.

Both smile.

Leon just stares.

Leon “Ada…”

The diesel train rushes on.

Finally, the car exits to the surface through a tunnel.

The Sun starts rising over a green field ahead.

An indescribable loneliness wells up in Leon while he intently stares at the rising Sun.

Eventually, the train car turns into a speck as it leaves towards the horizon ahead.

The End

CLAIRE B
Claire’s story (2nd part)

1. Leon’s Side (A – 1st) Important Events Recap

Raccoon City overrun by zombies.

Leon and Ada fight zombies with all their might side by side.

Overlay “Leon S. Kennedy – caught up in a zombie incident in Raccoon City. He ran into Ada Wong looking for her boyfriend John, fighting with all his might, and finally succeeded in escaping the city….”

Leon lets out a pained cry holding the dead Ada.

Overlay “But on the other end, Claire Redfield’s unseen story played out.”

2. Main Title

Biohazard 2

3. Prologue (FMV) (Afternoon)

A vast and dilapidated land as far as the eye can see—straight ahead a highway stretches.

A lone bike appears ahead, it rapidly arrives on scene.

The rider is Claire Redfield (20).

Overlay “Claire Redfield, 20-years-old, college student”

Her hair billowing from a full-face helmet. She wears a simple T-shirt. It’s immediately obvious at a glance that she is an energetic woman.

Then at the side of the road in front Leon S. Kennedy walks with a sleeping bag over his shoulder.

Despite their eyes meeting, Claire rides by without a care.

4. Raccoon City (Afternoon)

A main street fallen into silence. Claire arrives on her bike; she stops.

A board says, “Welcome to Raccoon City.”

Not a soul in sight. A shop’s board makes a sound in the wind, rats crawl by on top of garbage.

There is a car in the middle of the road stopped sideways. Getting off her bike, Claire approaches, puzzled, and opens its door. Then, a body covered in fresh blood with their head bashed in falls out of the car.

Shocked, Claire turns around, but now there is a zombie right in front of her facing her.

Shaking off its attack, Claire runs, and upon turning the corner, before she can realize, the entire street is filled with countless zombies.

Claire has nowhere to run now.

Claire “Aaaah!”

Then instantly, “Bamm!” A gunshot rings, and one zombie is hit in the top of its head, and it falls over.

It’s Leon. He crashes into the crowd without stopping, grabs Claire’s arm, and they start to run like hell.

***

Leon and Clare run in the alleyways between buildings. Leon then asks* [looks] around gun in hand with wary eyes, and asks:

Leon “What happened in this town?! It’s full of monsters!”

Claire “I passed by you earlier just outside of town…”

Leon “I’m Leon S. Kennedy. Just started out as a cop. I came here just as I was assigned to this town’s police department. Who are you anyway?”

Claire “Claire Redfield. I was heading to my college, but I want to check something with the local police. I haven’t heard from my brother, Chris who’s a member of S.T.A.R.S.”

Leon “I guess you could say we both have something to do with the police then.”

Leon pulls out a handgun from the sleeping bag in his hand, hands it to her, and

Claire sits in front.

Claire lands on the side of the cars closer to the bridge, and Leon on the other.

Claire (springing to her feet) “Leon!”

With multiple crashed cars blocking the way, they are cut off, and they can no longer rejoin.

In the meantime, a group of zombies also spot Claire, and start chasing her.

Leon “We can’t deal with this right now! Head to the station! We’ll meet up there later!”

This is where the game starts.
Claire gets on top of a cardboard box, and climbs over the police station’s chain-link fence, and from the 1st floor ventilation system, reaches the inside of the station.

When Claire gets inside the perimeter climbing the chain-link fence,

(cutscene starts)

She hears the noise of rotorblades from above: a helicopter ascends from the roof but Cop B fires off his gun on the roof, and the vehicle takes a sudden plunge and pierces the 3rd floor.

Claire (looks up in astonishment) “What was that?!”

(cutscene ends)

5. Police Station – 1st Floor – Room

Claire arrives on scene. It’s a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

6. Same Location – S.T.A.R.S. office

Continuing on, Claire opens the door marked by a sign saying “S.T.A.R.S.” and enters.

There is a desk for each member, and she spots a photo of S.T.A.R.S..

Overlay “A photo of the S.T.A.R.S. members.”

(cutscene starts)

It’s the happily smiling faces of Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca.

It closes up on Chris’s face.

Claire’s voice (VO) “Big brother…”

(cutscene ends)

Upon investigating inside, she finds Chris’s diary.

7. Chris’s Diary

Same file as in Leon’s 1st story scenario.

8. Same Location – Locker Room

Upon entering, she finds the locker room for policemen.

On one side, personal lockers line the wall, in the middle there is a huge table with champagne and snacks—a simple little party was prepared with a memo left there.

Claire takes the memo.

9. Memo

Same file as in Leon’s 1st story scenario.

10. Police Station – Hallway A

Having obtained Chris’s Diary and the Memo, Claire arrives at a hallway, and

(cutscene starts)

Leon is there.

Claire “Leon!” (runs up to him)

Leon “So you’re safe, Claire. It seems your brother isn’t here after all, so there’s no reason to stick around. We should both look if there are any survivors left, and then immediately leave as quickly as possible.”

Claire “Got it.”

Leon “Oh, yea. I’ve found these. Take one of them. We should keep in touch if anything comes up.”

Overlay “Leon handed the radio over to Claire.”

Claire “Leon, you’ve changed into your uniform. It suits you.”

Leon “Nah...” (flustered)

The two separate, and

(cutscene ends)

If Leon does not wear the uniform during the cutscene, the final two lines are omitted.

Claire investigates room after room.
In one of the rooms, she obtains a shotgun, and as she exits the room, it sets a flag.

11. Police Station – Hallway B

Claire arrives on scene.

(cutscene starts)

A girl’s scream can be heard.

Girl’s voice “Aaaah! Help me!”

Running towards the girl's voice, she finds Sherry (10) fending off zombies standing on top of a pile of cardboard boxes, waving around an iron pipe desperately.

Sherry “Stop! Go away!”

Finding a way between zombies, she runs off.

Claire “Who was that girl?!”

(cutscene ends)

Claire defeats all the zombies, but Sherry is nowhere to be found.

12. Same Location – Staircase Leading to the 3rd Floor

Having investigated all of the 1st and 2nd Floors, Claire heads to the 3rd Floor, but the 3rd Floor staircase is blocked off by the helicopter that pierced it, and so she can’t head up yet.

But by now, Claire has already obtained plastic explosives, and using that gets rid of the helicopter by blowing it up, so the way opens up.

13. Same Location – 3rd Floor – Room

As Claire enters,

(cutscene starts)

The sound of a fax machine is heard, a document is printed. Once it finishes,

(cutscene ends)

Claire picks it up, it’s a report from the Internal Affairs Department of Federal Police.

14. Federal Police – Internal Affairs Report

Mr. Chris Redfield of the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S.,

Please find the following results of the internal inquest regarding your request about Raccoon City Police Chief Brian Iron.

(1) We suspect that throughout the past five years, Police Chief Brian Iron received large amounts of bribes from the Umbrella Corporation. We concluded that all signs point to him taking the role of constructing cover-ups for the mansion incident and other numerous questionable incidents which we think was in order to help out the Umbrella Corporation.

(2) We suspect that during his university years, Police Chief Brian Iron assaulted female students on two occasions, and he underwent a psychological examination but the cases were dismissed upon favorable results.

From now on we will pay plenty of attention to him.

Signed,
Chief of US Federal Police Internal Affairs,
Jack Hamilton

15. Same Location – 3rd Floor – Chief’s Room

Upon further examining the 3rd floor, she finds a room with the sign “Chief’s Room”, and she enters.

It’s a huge, L-shaped room; compared to the other rooms, it has a more solemn air to it, and the walls and shelves are adorned by taxidermied remains of wild game and avians.

(cutscene starts)

Bang! A gunshot rings, and a vase by Claire’s side gets smashed into pieces with a loud noise.

Surprised, she turns around, and from the corner Police Chief Brian emerges with a gun in hand.

Brian “Oh, my bad, my bad. I confused you with a zombie.”

Claire “You’re Police Chief Brian, right?”

Brian “Yes. And who might you be? Actually, nevermind, I’m not interested. For some reason everyone I know the name of, ends up turning into a zombie anyway.”

There is a sofa in the room, the corpse of a young girl is lying across it.

Brian “The mayor’s daughter. She was left in my care to be protected, but she ended up like this.”

Giving the mayor’s daughter a pitiful look,

Brian “Look at her: such a beauty. Fair skin. And in an hour or so, all this will rot and turn into a zombie.”

Claire “There must be some way to stop it.”

Brian “There is. I could blast a hole in her brain with a gun, or I could cut her head off.”

Brian then plunks down on a chair, and looks around at the taxidermied animals surrounding the room, then

Brian “You know, taxidermy is my hobby. But that too is all gone now. Now, leave. I’d like to be alone.”

(cutscene ends)

After that, no matter how many times you talk to him, he will just repeat the bit set in bold.

16. Same Location – Neighbouring Room

There you find the second room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

Upon Claire entering it,

(cutscene starts)

Making some noise, Sherry jumps out from under a bed, trying to run away.

Claire “Wait!” (grabbing onto Sherry)

Sherry (thrashing around) “Let me go!”

Claire “I’m not a zombie. Calm down!”

Releasing all the tension built up in her, Sherry hugs Claire tight, and breaks into tears.

Claire “What’s your name?”

Sherry “Sherry.”

Claire “Where are you parents?”

Sherry “They both work at the Umbrella chemical plant near the city limits.”

Claire “Umbrella? Then why are you here?”

Sherry “My Mom called me, and told me to go to the police station because it’s too dangerous to stay at home.”

Claire “Alright, Sherry. But it’s dangerous here as well. Come with me.”

Sherry (taking a step back) “No. There’s a monster waiting outside if we leave! A monster more terrifying than these zombies!”

And then, a terrible roar echoes within the station.

17. Same Location – Hallway

In a dim hallway, the feet of a monster coming with resounding steps can be seen.

It rips zombies apart in its way. It lets out a terrible roar.

It’s G-Boss 1.

18. Same Location – Neighbouring Room

Sherry “It’s the monster! The monster’s come!”

In the next moment, the wall connecting to the hallway is struck with incredible strength, and the room starts to shake.

Finally, a giant hole is pierced into the wall, and an arm covered in thick hair reaches through, and G-Boss 1’s glinting eyes shine through the darkness. He is about to come through.

Sherry flees in panic, and runs out of the room.

Claire “Sherry!” (runs after her)

19. Chief’s Room

Claire arrives on scene. Sherry is nowhere to be found.

The roar of the monster. Pounding the door violently. She presses her body firmly against the door. Finally everything subsides. G-Boss 1 seems to have left. Relieved, Claire turns back to the room, and

Claire “Chief?!”

Brian, who should be sitting in his chair, is gone.

Overlay “Chief Brian is gone.”

The head of the mayor’s daughter’s corpse, which is still lying on the sofa, is also cut off, and the head is gone, fresh blood is flowing from the neckhole.

Claire’s thoughts “Her head’s gone!”

(cutscene ends)

When Claire returns to the neighboring room, G-Boss 1 is nowhere to be found, in its place a zombie is standing in front of her, and attacks. It came from the hole G-Boss 1 entered through. Upon defeating it, that’s not enough yet to secure the place. Moving a wooden box there, the hole is blocked.

Going back once again to the Chief’s Room and examining the inside of the room, Claire spots a hidden button on the desk Chief Brian was sitting at. As she presses it, the picture fixed on the wall starts to move and on the wall behind it, reveals a place to put four key items into.

Claire at this point should only have at most one of these items.

Afterwards, Claire also becomes able to enter the new wing of the police station, and as a result, she gets to obtain the second key item for the chief’s room, but…

20. New Wing – 2nd Floor – Room

As Claire enters, Sherry is already there.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “There you are, Sherry. I was just thinking about where you could’ve gone.”

Sherry “I’m sorry. I was scared.”

(cutscene ends)

There is a plumbing hole about 30 cm2 in one of the corners of the room.

Overlay “The hole is too small, you can’t fit through. Maybe a child could…”

Once Claire starts talking to Sherry,

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Sherry, I need your help. Please climb down to the floor below.”

Sherry “Okay.”

The game switches to Sherry.

Sherry descends down the hole.

(cutscene ends)

21. New Wing – 1st Floor – Room

Once Sherry arrives down, she examines the 1st floor. She collects the third key item. That triggers G-Boss 1 to jump down from the ceiling.

(cutscene starts)

Sherry “Aaaah!”

22. Same Location – 2nd Floor

Claire “Sherry!”

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Claire.

With that, Claire runs to the 1st Floor.

23. Same Location – 1st Floor

Claire arrives and is able to enter since Sherry has opened up the area.

Upon entering the room where Sherry was attacked by G-Boss 1, she is no longer to be found, but a different kind of monster, and it attacks Claire.

Upon defeating it,

(cutscene starts)

A call is coming from Leon via the radio.

Leon’s voice  “Claire, come in! I’ve opened up the basement 2nd floor. Come over here later.”

Claire “Roger.”

(cutscene ends)

Inferring from Leon’s radio call that the final key item is in the basement, Claire heads to the basement 2nd floor.

24. Same Location – Basement 2nd Floor

Claire examines the basement 2nd floor. Evidence of Leon clearing the basement 2nd floor, including the corpse of Ben, is left all over.

25. Same Location – Room

Claire arrives. Sherry is there. Upon talking to her,

(cutscene starts)

Claire ”Sherry!”

Sherry “I was attacked by that monster, so I ran here.”

(cutscene ends)

Examining the inside of the room, she grabs the final item. That triggers,

(cutscene starts)

The noise of a helicopter can be heard from outside.

26. Same Location – Outside

A helicopter appears over the backdrop of a sunset sky. On its pitch-black chassis “Umbrella” is written.

The helicopter flies towards the roof of the police station, and for a moment hovers above it, but then a black figure jumps down at the roof from the helicopter, soaring like a bird.

He wears black sunglasses and short sleeved army fatigues. He is tall and muscle-bound, and in one of his hands holds a machine gun. It’s Mysterious Man X. He walks to the edge of the roof, and climbs down.

27. Same Location – Inside

Crash! The glass of the window shatters, and Mysterious Man X jumps in. With his machine gun, he makes mince-meat out of zombies, and he starts swiftly walking down the hallway.

28. Same Location – Basement 2nd Floor – Archive Room

Bamm! Mysterious Man X enters, opening the door, and stands in front of Claire and Sherry.

Claire “Who are you?!”

In place of an answer, Mysterious Man X just immediately fires off his machine gun.

Shocked, Claire and Sherry immediately jump, and take cover.

But Mysterious Man X does not let up. He follows the two while firing off his machine gun (in his attack, the door Leon and Ada used to get to the surface is destroyed, it cannot be operated anymore).

When the bullets are depleted, he throws away the machine gun, and comes at Claire. Sherry immediately runs away, and

(cutscene ends)

Claire fights back, but even when she hits him in the chest, and Mysterious Man X is blown back to the floor, but the bullet holes immediately disappear, and the man rises up.

(cutscene starts)

Mysterious Man X (with a blank stare) “It’s no use. Weapons don’t work on me.”

Claire “This cannot be real!”

(cutscene ends)

No matter how many times Mysterious Man X is hit, weapons don’t work on him. If caught up in his grasp, Claire is killed and it results in a Game Over. The only thing to do is run away.

From this point on, Mysterious Man X will show up on randomized occasions, and attack Claire. The game has to be progressed while avoiding him.

29. Old Wing – Chief’s Room

With all four items collected, Claire returns. Upon placing them, part of the floor slides, and a one-person elevator appears.

Overlay “It’s an elevator. It seems to connect to the 1st floor. Will you ride it down?”

Choosing “Yes”, Claire descends with the elevator.

30. Old Wing – 1st Floor – Chief’s Secret Room (3 Rooms)

These appear to be gloomy and eerie rooms never imagined to be found in a police station.

In the first room countless taxidermied avians and wild game are put on display.

In the next room are all sorts of tools, blood-splattered knives and saws used for taxidermy.

Finally, upon entering the last secret room,

(cutscene starts)

There stands Chief Brian with his back turned to Claire, but he turns around.

His face is twisted beyond reason, and he is clutching a formalin jar with the mayor’s daughter’s head inside.

Brian “You bitch… you’ve come to take her head away from me. There’s no way I’ll give it to you. It’ll serve as a fine addition to my collection.”

Claire “Chief?!”

Brian “Damn… I’ve followed what you all told me to do until now. And yet this town all went to shit!”

Claire “So you did work with Umbrella. Just what is the G-virus? Tell me!”

Brian “The G-virus, huh, it’s a virus that turns people into the ultimate bio-weapon, surpassing the T-virus by miles! It was developed by Doctor William.”

Claire “Doctor William?”

Brian “You’ve met Sherry, the girl who’s been crawling all over the place. It’s her daddy.”

At that moment, Brian lunges at Claire. Squeezing her neck.

Brian “Ahahaha, and on top of that, the same monster who’s been thrashing around the station, is that ultimate biological weapon, caused by the G-virus.”

The strength of the insane Brian is too great.

Brian “Die! Die! I’m going to cut off your fucking head too! It’ll be a part of my collection!

But in the next second, bang! A terrible impact shakes the room, and a hole opens on the floor, and both of G-Boss 1’s hands pierce through it, clutching both of the Chief’s legs.

Brian “Guwaah!”

He is slowly pulled into the hole .

Claire “Chief!”

She grabs Brian’s hands, and tries to pull him back with all her might, but it’s no use.

In the next moment, the Chief lets out a cry, and a huge amount of blood gushes out of the hole. Claire lets go of his hand, and Brian crawls out of the hole, his lower body is missing.

Brian “He-help me…” (he slumps on the floor dead)

In that second, a call comes in on the radio.

Leon’s voice “Claire, come in!”

Claire “This is Claire.”

Leon’s voice “We’re heading to Umbrella’s Pharmaceutical Plant. Follow us later.”

Claire “Got it.”

(cutscene ends)

As Claire approaches Brian, Overlay “Brian died horribly”

Upon examining the room, orders from Doctor William addressed to Brian are found.

31. William’s Orders

Same file as in Leon’s 1st story scenario.

32. Secret Room inside Chief’s Room

Continuing on, as Claire peers into the hole G-Boss 1 left, Overlay “It seems you can climb down. Will you climb down?” appears, and upon jumping down, you can exit to the surface.

But if you try to go on right now, a message pops up “you need to have Sherry come with you”, so the only way to go is back (when you want to go back, you stand on some crates, and you’re back to the room).

33. Chief’s Room

Claire arrives back. Sherry is there.

Sherry “You’re okay, Claire!” (hugs her)

Claire “Sherry.”

Claire’s thoughts “Her father is the man behind the development of the G-virus, William Birkin.”

Sherry “What is it, Claire?”

Claire “No, nothing. Sherry, I’ve found a way to leave. We need to get out of this city. Somewhere with no zombies.”

Sherry (scared) “But…”

Claire “It’ll be alright. Cause I’ll protect you.”

(cutscene ends)

With that, Claire and Sherry make their way outside of the police station.
The player first needs to gear up, then leave with Sherry in tow.

34. Town (Night)

Upon arriving at street level, the Sun has already completely set.
Claire, taking Sherry with her, runs through the town.
The gameplay involves defeating and dodging zombies that attack them, and arriving at the entrance of the sewers.

35. Sewers – Entrance (Night)

Claire and Sherry spot the entrance to the sewers, but there is an iron ladder with a locked hatch they can’t enter. But there you find an item with which you can enter the still unsearched rooms of the New Wing of the police station. Upon obtaining it,

(cutscene starts)

Overlay “You have to go back to the Police Station once again”

Claire “Sherry, please wait here. Don’t move from here. Understood?”

Sherry “Yes.”

(cutscene ends)

36. Police Station – New Wing

Claire ultimately obtains the item that opens the entrance of the sewers upon searching the still unsearched rooms.

That triggers,

G-Boss 1 to appear!

Upon defeating it, you discover a route that directly leads to the sewers entrance.

Upon taking that route,

(cutscene starts)

The body of the defeated G-Boss 1 starts to spasm, and it lets out a pained roar, and it’s chest starts shredding to pieces, two inhuman arms come out of its inside. It starts shedding its skin.

(cutscene ends)

At that point, if Claire were to return to the New Wing, G-Boss 1 would be nowhere to be found.

37. Sewers – Entrance

Claire arrives back. Sherry is awaiting.

Claire opens the sewers entrance with the item.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Okay, let’s go.”

But then, from an embankment above, Mysterious Man X jumps down. He starts chasing the two.

Claire “Run, Sherry!”

38. Sewers – Inside

Claire and Sherry jump in.

There is a button on the wall. Claire runs up to it and presses the button (can be operated from the inside).

An iron shutter comes crushing down, cutting off the sewers. They’ve evaded Mysterious Man X.

Relieved, Claire turns around: Sherry is gone.

Claire “Sherry! Where are you?! Sherry!”

(cutscene ends)

39. Sewers – Room

Entering the sewers the first thing Claire discovers is a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

40. Sewers – Inside

Continuing on, there is Leon sitting on the ground leaning against the wall with his shoulder wounded.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Leon!” (runs up to him) “What happened? Are you hurt?”

Leon “I got this far with the help of a woman named Ada. But somebody shot at us. I’m worried about Ada going after her. Please look for her.”

Claire “But you need to be treated.”

Leon “I’ll be okay, just hurry.”

(cutscene ends)

Claire, leaving behind Leon, goes on for a while, when

Stage Boss 1 appears.

Upon defeating it, she advances further into the sewers, when

(cutscene starts)

Bang! A gunshot rings.

41. Same Location – 2nd Floor – Room

At the passageway across, Ada and Annette are scuffling.

Annette pushes Ada, but loses her balance and falls down to the 1st floor.

Ada “Annette!”

42. Same Location – 1st Floor – Passageway

Claire arrives running to the location of the gunfire, in front of her a door opens, and Anette exits dragging her leg. Seeing Claire, she stops in surprise.

Claire “Are you Sherry’s Mom Annette?!”

Annette “Who the hell are you?!”

Claire “Sherry’s somewhere here in the Sewers. Look for her with me!”

Annette “That’s nonsense. I told her to hole up at the Police Station, what the hell is she doing here?!”

But then, Sherry arrives running screaming “Mom!”.

Annette “Sherry!”

In her happiness, Sherry is about to run up to Annette, but just before that the door next to her opens, and Mysterious Man X exits through it.”

Annette (surprised) “You! Run, Sherry! Get away!”

Sherry runs away from the Mysterious Man X readying to attack. He follows after.

Annette “Help her! That man’s after the G-virus Sherry’s carrying!”

Claire “What?!”

Annette runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

Claire advances to where she lost sight of Sherry, and upon entering a room,

(cutscene starts)

43. Same Location – Room

Sherry is being attacked by Mysterious Man X.

Claire “Sherry!”

(cutscene ends)

Claire fights back against Mysterious Man X with Sherry by her side. They escape from the room.

44. Same Location – Sewers

Claire and Sherry burst out of the room.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “There’s something you got from your Mom. The G-virus.”

Sherry “G-virus? She never gave me anything like that.”

Claire “That can’t be. He’s after us because you have it. Give it to me, I’ll take care of it.”

Sherry “But I’m telling you, she didn’t give anything like that. It’s the truth.”

Claire “Then what did she mean…”

(cutscene ends)

From this point on, Claire advances through the sewers with Sherry in tow.

45. Cable Car – Depot

Exiting the Sewers leads into a cavern where there is a cable car depot.

After Leon and Ada have used the cable car, it’s stopped at the other side. Claire presses a switch, and they wait for it to arrive back to them.

(cutscene starts)

Then, from inside the caves* [sewers] they’ve just come from, a strange roar echoes.

Sewers—G-Boss 2 (we don’t get to see its entire body) is coming with terrible intensity.

Claire “?!”

The cable car arrives and the two get on, just as G-Boss 2 appears.

G-Boss 2 jumps on the moving car.

It pierces the roof, stabbing into it with sharp claws.

(cutscene ends)

Turning towards the roof, Claire fires with her gun. After a good few shots, G-Boss 2 lets off. If you don’t start shooting, ignoring the boss, sharp claws come down and you die some way or another, and it results in a Game Over.

In the end, the car reaches a mountainside depot.

46. Caves – Inside

From the depot they reached, the two arrive at the underground cave system from BIO1 that connects to the labs. But after the explosion, only one part of the caves is accessible.

Claire sees the flamethrower used in BIO1 that’s on the hooks. She takes it. Continuing on, they climb an iron ladder leading to ground level.

47. Mansion – Front (Night)

The place they arrive at is the front of the mansion—unfortunately it’s destroyed, and only part of the 1st floor hall remains. However, in the main hall giant spiders nest.

A giant spider arrives

You need to fight it while protecting Sherry. Claire defeats it.

The elevator stops at the Pharmaceutical Plant’s marshalling yard and a giant warehouse extending from it.

48. Warehouse and Marshalling Yard (Night)

At the marshalling yard, there are countless rails, freight cars and diesel trains, and in the middle of the marshalling yard, there is a giant circular hole open, and upon peering into it, “Because Leon has already used it in scenario A, the turntable has descended.”

Claire calls it back up with a press of a switch, and she enters the cockpit of the diesel train.

The turntable starts to descend.

(cutscene starts)

Then in that moment, a loud roar rings, and G-Boss 3 jumps down from above (G-Boss 2 has already been killed by Leon in the A story).

Claire “Hide in here, Sherry!” (she gets out of the cockpit)

(cutscene ends)

Fight against G-Boss 3.

Upon defeating it, the turntable arrives at the lowest floor (one floor lower than in Leon’s story).

49. Underground Lab – Underground Lobby (Night)

It is the giant lobby of a near-futuristic underground lab.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Let’s go, Sherry!” (fade out)

50. Underground Lab – Room

(Fade in) the two enter. It’s a room with an item box and a digital typewriter for saving.

Claire “Just wait here, okay? I’ll look for you Mom.”

Sherry “Claire… Thank you. Because I’m an only child, I always felt alone because my Dad and Mum always had to be at work. But now, you’re here, Claire. I love you, Claire.”

Claire “Sherry…”

Claire hugs Sherry tight, and

(cutscene ends)

From this point on, everything leads to the final climax.
At the same time, the giant underground lab has heaps of traps set by Umbrella.
You need to find all sorts of useful items to progress further into the lab, and you are supposed to face enemies much stronger than all the zombies and monsters that came before.
You also find a power room and a security room which are basically the heart of the underground lab.
After that, you approach the final stage closer and closer.

52. Underground Lab – Basement 3rd Floor – Room

Claire enters the room. This is WIlliam’s personal room.

There is a photo frame on his desk with William, Annette and Sherry captured smiling.

(cutscene starts)

Overlay “Sherry, Annette and William are captured smiling.”

Claire “Even this family had a period of serenity…”

In that second, behind her a shotgun clicks.

Turning around, Annette is standing there.

Annette “Where is Sherry?!”

Claire “She’s waiting in another room. But the G-virus isn’t with her.”

Annette “Where?! Which room?!”

She goes up to a monitor, and presses switch after switch until the image of Sherry in Room A is displayed.

Annette “Sherry!”

In the very same moment, the door of Room A opens, and Mysterious Man X bursts in.

Claire “Sherry!”

Annette “The G-virus is inside the necklace Sherry wears around her neck!”

Annette rushes out of the room.

(cutscene ends)

52. Same Location – Room A

Claire enters, Sherry is nowhere to be found.

53. Same Location – Hallway

While looking for Sherry, Claire explores room after room.

Upon entering one of the rooms,

(cutscene starts)

It opens into a square-shaped overpass, and there is Mysterious Man X chasing Sherry.

Sherry “Help me, Claire!”

Claire “Sherry, throw away your necklace! The G-virus is inside it.”

Mysterious Man X extends its claw and attacks, he lifts Sherry in the air with both hands. Sherry’s struggling, but finally unfastens the necklace around her neck, opening the lid, inside is a small vial, with “G” written on it.

Sherry tosses the vial to the floor below.

Below is a giant vat containing acid, and the vial falls into that. White smoke rises up, and it melts instantly.

Shocked, Mysterious Man X peers below, but then

“Uaaaah!”

He loses his footing, and tumbles down head first. He falls into the giant vat, and a giant puff of white smoke rises, and he sinks melting while screaming.

Sherry “Claire!”

Having been saved, Sherry runs up to Claire. But the surface of the vat breaks open with another “Uaaaah!”, and a huge splash shoots up, and a strange monster jumps out, and lands on the overpass where the two are. Sharp claws. Mysterious Man X was actually a Tyrant.

At the same time, a huge explosion rings, shaking the entire laboratory. An announcement fills the entire place.

Announcer “The destruction system has been activated. It cannot be aborted. Anybody inside take shelter immediately.” (repeating)

54. Montage

Fire engulfs everything. Steam escapes everywhere..

Zombies covered in flames attack.

Even the turntable is engulfed in flames. In flames, the body of the defeated G-Boss 3 there starts to twitch and spasm and shed its skin. Its abdomen shreds and two inhuman arms burst out from it.

55. Same Location – Passageway

The Tyrant pursues Claire.

Claire “Sherry, run!”

(cutscene ends)

Sherry manages to get away, but Claire still has to keep running.

56. Same Location – Room with the Self-Destruct System

Claire holes up there, and grabs a rocket launcher.

Upon exiting to the hallway again, and arriving running, she comes upon the area where Ada and Annette lie.

(cutscene starts)

Sherry’s there crying, clinging into Annette’s body.

Sherry “Mom! Mom!”

Claire “Sherry!”

Running up to her, Annette just barely comes to, and

Annette (gasping) “Sherry… get out of here, hurry! Even though I was a bad mother, I’ve always loved you. Please forgive me…” (passes away)

Sherry “Mom!” (breaks down crying)

Claire “Sherry, we have to get out of here. Come!”

That triggers Sherry to join, and the announcement also changes:

Announcer “5 minutes remain until detonation. Anybody inside seek shelter with utmost immediacy.”

(cutscene ends)

The countdown starts, and so the turntable needs to be reached within the time limit.

On the way there,

The Tyrant shows up.

Fight against the Tyrant.

He is defeated with the rocket launcher, and our characters once again run towards the turntable.

57. Same Location – Turntable

Claire and Leon* [Sherry] arrive running, and getting on the turntable, no more countdown.

The diesel train starts, and Leon leans outside the cockpit.

Leon “Hurry, Claire!

Claire and Sherry jump on the train.

58. Rushing Diesel Train

The remaining time reaches zero,

(cutscene starts)

a huge explosion occurs. Flames fill the entire screen in a second, and a violent shake hits the train.

Claire “Sherry!”

Claire holds Sherry, protecting her from the shaking.

***

The explosion envelops the entire laboratory.

Walls and pillars crumble into pieces. Among the debris zombies and monsters are covered in flames.

Then the marshaling yard and warehouse above explode in a blink too, a pillar of flame paints the sky.

***

Claire holds Sherry with all her might.

Finally, the shaking abates.

Sherry “C-Claire…” (hugs her)

Finally, the car exits to the surface through a tunnel.

But then suddenly, bang! A strange shaking jolts the train, and a high-pitched roar sounds.

Claire “What was that?!’

Leon “It’s the monster! It’s inside the train!”

Claire “No way!”

Sherry “Claire!” (clings to her)

Leon “We’ll attack him from two sides. I get behind him through the roof. When the time comes, we have to use these rounds!

Leon gives depleted uranium rounds to Claire.

Leon “We only get one shot together, we’re going to use these to put an end to all this.”

Claire “Got it.”

Leon leaves, and

(cutscene ends)

Claire heads to the connecting wagon.

There awaits G-Boss 5 (G-Boss 4 got defeated in Leon A).

The final, all-deciding battle against G-Boss 5.

To win this battle, you need to deal a specific amount of damage to G-Boss 5.

Once that’s reached, it triggers

(cutscene starts)

To attack G-Boss from both sides, Leon jumps in from the coupler door from the other end of the wagon.

Leon “It’s time, Claire! We’re going to finish him off! One, two, three!”

(cutscene ends)

Leon and Claire fire the depleted uranium rounds together.

(cutscene starts)

G-Boss 5 goes up in flames, but he still tries to go for an attack.

Leon “Release the coupler!”

The two run to the coupler, and cut off the wagon.

The wagon with G-Boss 5 rides steadily on its own, but then goes up in a huge explosion.

It fades away in the distance, and peace and quiet returns in its place, and

Leon “Claire…”

Claire “That monster was Sherry’s father, William…”

Leon “It’s best we don’t tell her.”

The diesel train rushes on. The Sun is coming up over the field.

Holding Sherry close, Claire intently watches the sunrise.

Leon watches them from the cockpit.

Eventually, the train car turns into a speck as it leaves towards the horizon ahead.

The End

1. Biohazard 1 Recap

Late night – a mansion emerges from a dense forest.

Biohazard 2

Then at the side of the road in front a young man (Leon S. Kennedy) walks with a sleeping bag over his shoulder. He turns his head upon hearing the noise of the engine. He appears to be a fiercely strong young man.

The frame freezes.

Overlay “Leon S. Kennedy, 25-years-old, policeman”

Despite their eyes meeting, Claire rides by without a care.

4. On Top of a Hill

Claire arrives on her bike.

Below lies Raccoon City. A small town tucked away among mountains.

5. Raccoon City (Afternoon)

A main street fallen into silence. Claire’s arrives on her bike; she stops.

And that’s not all. Almost as if a storm passed by, the windows of buildings are broken, electric poles and cars are toppled over, and black smoke is rising.

Finally, zombies corner Claire and are about to take a bite from her.

Leon then asks* [looks] around, gun in hand with wary eyes, and asks:

Claire sits in front.

Gun in hand, he runs off to the other end.

Claire “Leon!”

This is where the game starts.
The gameplay involves evading the hordes of zombies overrunning the city until you reach the inside of the police station.
Claire spots a fire escape tucked away in an alleyway near the old wing of the police station. So she proceeds there.

As she arrives at the fire escape,

(cutscene starts)

Claire runs up the entire length of the fire escape.

6. Police Station (Roof)

Claire reaches the top. And as she does, from the rooftop entrance, Cop A rushes out. Leaps on a helicopter standing by, and it starts to ascend.

Then another, Cop B rushes on scene.

Cop B “Wait! Take me with you!” (jumps at the helicopter)

From his weight, the helicopter veers off-path.

As hard as he can, Cop A kicks down Cop B.

Cop B falls back down to the rooftop, and in a frenzied rage, he starts to shoot at the helicopter.

Claire (shouting without second thought) “Please stop!”

Surprised, Cop B turns his head, but keeps firing as the helicopter climbs.

He shoots Cop A, who is sitting in the pilot seat, through the shoulder, and the helicopter turns sharply. Bang! It destroys the fire escape and pierces the 3rd floor wall, heavily damaging it.

Claire (stares blankly)

At the same time, zombies show up, and attack Cop B.

Cop B “Guwaah!”

Struggling with them, they push him down from the roof to down below, and all is heard are his shrieks.

Then the zombies turn their attention towards Claire.

(cutscene ends)

While fighting zombies, Claire looks for a way inside the police station. Because the the helicopter destroyed the fire escape, there is no way back down.

She descends from the end of the roof towards the 2nd floor, and enters from a ventilation hole.

7. Police station – Inside – Room A

Claire arrives inside.

There is an item box and digital typewriter for saving.

8. Same Location – Locker Room

As she continues on, she finds the locker room for policemen.

On one side, personal lockers line the wall, in the middle there is a huge table with champagne and snacks—a simple little party was prepared with a memo left there.

Claire takes the memo.

9. Memo

To Leon S. Kennedy,

Congratulations on being assigned to the Raccoon City Police Department.
We’ll go easy on you despite being the new guy. Best wishes with your assignment!

All members of the RPD

10. Locker Room

After filing the Memo,

(cutscene starts)

A man’s groan is heard.

Claire makes her way behind the lockers, and there is a man, Cop C leaning against the wall. Fresh blood covers his abdomen, and he looks to be on the verge of death.

Claire (running up to him) “Hold on! Are you one of the officers here?”

Heavily Wounded Cop “Ugh… Wh-who are you?”

Claire “I’m Claire. I’m looking for my brother, Chris, he’s a member of S.T.A.R.S..”

Heavily Wounded Cop “If you want Chris, we haven’t heard from him for about the last 10 days. And not just him. Same goes for Jill and Barry, every last S.T.A.R.S. member. W-we were so dumb.”

Claire “Huh?”

Heavily Wounded Cop “Two months ago, there was a monster outbreak in a mansion located at the outskirts of this city. Risking their own lives, Chris and the others discovered that Umbrella was behind everything, but no one believed them.”

Claire “Umbrella?”

Heavily Wounded Cop “If we believed them then… it all wouldn’t have… this town’s already done for. Got overrun by zombies…get away while you can. Go! Ugh…”

Claire “Hold on! Please hold on!”

But the Heavily Wounded Cop passes away.

(cutscene ends)

After that, the Heavily Wounded Cop turns into a zombie, and attacks Claire.

Afterwards, Claire goes on to investigate room after room.

11. Same Location – S.T.A.R.S. office

Claire opens the door marked by a sign saying “S.T.A.R.S.” and enters.

Claire investigates room after room.
In one of the rooms, she obtains a shotgun, and as she exits the room, it sets a flag.

13. Police Station – Hallway

Upon Claire exiting a room,

(cutscene starts)

A girl’s scream can be heard.

Girl’s voice “Aaaah! Help me!”

Running towards the direction of girl’s voice, she finds Sherry (10) fending off zombies standing on top of a pile of cardboard boxes, waving around an iron pipe desperately.

Sherry “Stop! Go away!”

Finding a way between zombies, she runs off.

Claire “Wait!”

Then Leon runs up shouting “Claire!”. Leon is already in his uniform.

Claire “Leon. Have you seen that girl? She’s about 10 years old.”

Leon “Yeah. Just over there. Who is she?”

Claire “I don’t know, but it’s too dangerous to let her stick around a place like this. You should keep an eye out for her too.”

Leon “Sure.” (he almost leaves) “Oh, yea. I’ve found these. Take one of them. We should keep in touch with these if anything comes up.”

Leon, handing the radio over to Claire, is about to leave running.

Claire “Leon!” (calling out to him) “You’ve changed into your uniform. It suits you.”

Leon (flustered) “Nah...”

Leon runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

15. Same Location – 3rd Floor – Room

As Claire enters,

(cutscene starts)

The sound of a fax machine is heard, a document is printed. Once it finishes,

(cutscene ends)

Claire picks it up, it’s a report from the Internal Affairs Department of Federal Police.

Upon Claire arriving at the room,

I could blast a hole in her brain with this gun, or I could cut her head off.”

18. Same Location – Neighbouring Room

There you find the second room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

Upon Claire entering it,

(cutscene starts)

Making some noise, Sherry jumps out from under a bed, trying to run away.

Claire “Wait!” (grabbing onto Sherry)

Sherry (thrashing around) “Let me go!”

Claire “I’m not a zombie. Calm down!”

Releasing all the tension built up in her, Sherry hugs Claire tight, and breaks into tears.

Claire pulls out her radio, and

Claire “Come in, Leon! I’ve found the girl. I also blew up the helicopter blocking the 3rd floor, so you can enter it now.”

Leon’s voice “Roger.”

Claire then puts away the radio, and

Claire “What’s your name?”

Sherry “Sherry.”

Claire “Where are you parents?”

Sherry “They both work at the Umbrella chemical plant near the city limits.”

Claire “Umbrella? Then why are you here?”

Sherry “My Mom called me, and told me to go to the police station because it’s too dangerous to stay at home.”

Claire “Alright, Sherry. But it’s dangerous here as well. Come with me.”

Sherry (taking a step back) “No. There’s a monster waiting outside if we leave! A monster more terrifying than these zombies, and it’s after me!”

And then, a terrible roar echoes within the station.

***

Shifting to a POV shot; somebody is rushing down the hallway to the Chief’s Room with incredible speed all the while letting out a terrible roar.

***

Claire “What’s that roar?”

In the next moment, the wall connecting to the hallway is struck with incredible strength, and the room starts to shake.

Sherry “It’s the monster! The monster’s come!”

Finally, a giant hole is pierced into the wall, and an arm covered in thick hair reaches through, and the creature’s (G-Boss 1) glinting eyes shine through the darkness.

Claire at this point should only have at most two of these items.

Afterwards, Claire also becomes able to enter the new wing of the police station, and as a result, obtains the third key item for the chief’s room. She is also able to find the final, fourth missing piece, but…

20. New Wing – 2nd Floor – Room

As Claire enters, Sherry is already there.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “There you are, Sherry. I was just thinking about where you could’ve gone.”

Sherry “I’m sorry. I was scared.”

(cutscene ends)

There is a plumbing hole about 30 cm2 in one of the corners of the room. Peeking through it, the fourth part of the key item can be seen lying on a table in the middle of 1st floor’s room C.

There is a door leading to room C but it’s closed from the inside, it cannot be entered.

Overlay “The hole is too small, you can’t fit through. Maybe a child could…”

Once Claire starts talking to Sherry,

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Sherry, I need your help. Please climb down to the floor below.”

Sherry “Okay.”

The game switches to Sherry.

Sherry descends down the hole.

(cutscene ends)

21. New Wing – 1st Floor – Room C

Once Sherry arrives down, she collects the item from the table. That triggers a giant spider (or another kind of monster) stuck to the ceiling to jump down.

(cutscene starts)

Sherry “Aaaah! Help me!”

Claire “I’m coming to help you, Sherry. Just please open that door!”

(cutscene ends)

Sherry opens the door while running around the room.

And that triggers,

The game switches back to Claire.

Claire heads down the stairs, and bursts into Room C.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Run, Sherry! Wait for me in the Chief’s Room!”

(cutscene ends)

You need to protect Sherry as she gets away. If Sherry were to die, it results in a Game Over. Upon defeating the giant spider, you return to the Chief’s Room.

22. OId Wing – Chief’s Room

Claire returns. Sherry is already there waiting.

Upon talking to her,

(cutscene starts)

Claire “I’m okay, Claire.”

(cutscene ends)

Upon placing all four key items in the wall behind the picture, part of the floor slides, and a one-person elevator leading below is revealed.

Overlay “It’s an elevator. It seems to connect to the 1st floor. Will you ride it down?”

Upon choosing “Yes”,

(cutscene starts)

Suddenly, the roar of G-Boss 1 echoes from below.

Sherry “It’s that monster. It’s below!”

23. Chief’s Secret 1st Floor Room F

G-Boss 1 holds Brian by both of his arms, and lifts him in the air, letting out a roar. (we don’t get to see its entire body)

Brian “He-help me! Guwaah!”

G-Boss 1 quickly opens his mouth. A strange, tentacle-like protuberance emerges from its mouth and enters Brian’s mouth.

It lets out a gushing sound and G-Boss 1’s protuberance contracts back and forth.

Chief Brian makes a pained expression and his feet start thrashing around.

24. Chief’s Room

Sherry (scared) “Claire!”

Claire “I’ll check it out. You stay here, Sherry.”

(cutscene ends)

Claire descends with the elevator.

25. Old Wing – 1st Floor – Chief’s Secret Room (3 Rooms)

These appear to be gloomy and eerie rooms never imagined to be found in a police station.

The first is Room D where countless taxidermied avians and wild game are put on display.

In the next, Room E, are all sorts of tools, blood-splattered knives and saws used for taxidermy.

Finally, upon entering the last secret room, Room F,

(cutscene starts)

There stands Chief Brian with his back turned to Claire, but he turns around. His face is twisted beyond reason, and he is clutching a formalin jar with the mayor’s daughter’s head inside. G-Boss 1 is nowhere to be found.

Brian “Hahahaha… So we meet again, Umbrella bitch. There’s no way I’ll give her head to you. It’ll serve as a fine addition to my collection.”

Claire “Calm down, Chief! Just what the hell happened here?!”

Brian “Shut up! I’ve followed what you all told me to do until now.

He pushes Claire to the floor, saddling her.

Brian “Die! Die! I’m going to cut off your fucking head too! It’ll be a part of my collection!

But in the next second, Brian suddenly breaks out in great pain and clutches at his chest.

He starts jumping around like a puppet pulled on strings, and then he starts foaming at the mouth.

Brian “Aaaah!”

From his head down to his chest, he splits right in two, and from inside some unearthly creature emerges.

It’s the young of G-Boss 1 (of course nobody knows such a thing at this stage). It immediately disappears, after bumping into Claire.

Claire (shocked) What the fuck was that?!”

(cutscene ends)

As Claire approaches the fallen Brian,

Overlay “Brian died horribly”

Upon examining the room, orders from Doctor William addressed to Brian are found.

26. William’s Orders

(Page 1 of Orders)

To RPD’s Mr. Brian Iron Police Chief,

I’ve deposited the usual 10,000 USD to the agreed upon account. Research on the T-virus’s successor the G-virus is close to completion. But until then we need to be careful. Chris and the others are snooping around in my backyard already.

27. Secret Room F inside Chief’s Room

Continuing on, from the Chief’s desk, Claire produces a remote key. Searching the room all over, a secret door is found. Using the remote key, the door slides open, and it leads outside the surface from the station. (if you want to go back from the outside, the key needs to be used)

But if you try to go on right now, a message pops up “you need to have Sherry come with you”, so the only way to go is back.

28. Chief’s Room

Claire arrives back. Sherry is awaiting.

(cutscene starts)

Sherry “You’re okay, Claire! I’m so glad!” (hugs her)

Claire’s face is shown.

Cause I’ll protect you. Okay? Once we leave, you mustn’t leave my side.” (pulls out the radio) “Leon, come in. We’re leaving.”

Leon’s voice “What?! The streets are full of zombies. You’re making a mistake!”

Claire “It’ll be fine. Follow us later.”

Leon’s voice “Claire! Claire!”

Claire puts away the radio, and

(cutscene ends)

With that, Claire and Sherry make their way outside of the police station.
The player first needs to gear up, then leave with Sherry in tow.

29. Town (Night)

Upon arriving at street level from Chief’s Secret Room F, the Sun has already completely set.
Claire, taking Sherry with her, runs through the town.
The gameplay involves defeating and dodging zombies that attack them, and arriving at the entrance of the sewers.

Claire once again goes back to the police station all by herself.

31. Police Station – New Wing

Claire ultimately obtains the item that opens the entrance of the sewers upon searching the still unsearched rooms.

That triggers,

The young of the G-Boss to appear!

Upon defeating the young, you discover a route that directly leads to the sewers entrance.

32. Sewers – Entrance

Claire arrives back. Sherry is awaiting.

Claire opens the sewers entrance with the item.

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Okay, let’s go.”

The two set out to enter.

But then, from an embankment above, G-Boss 1 jumps down (we don’t get to see its entire body). He lets out a roar, and starts chasing the two.

Sherry “Aaaah!”

Claire “Run, Sherry!”

The two run inside the sewers. G-Boss 1 follows after.

33. Sewers – Inside A

Claire and Sherry are running.

There is a button on the wall. Claire runs up to it and presses the button (can be operated from the inside).

An iron shutter comes crushing down with a sound, cutting off the sewers. They’ve successfully evaded G-Boss 1.

Relieved, Claire turns around, but it’s replaced by shock.

Sherry is gone.

Claire “Sherry! Where are you?! Sherry!”

Looking for Sherry, she runs off into the darkness.

Instead of entering, Sherry descends from a small hole above the sewers.

Sherry “Claire…! Claire!” (looking around)

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Sherry.

At this point Sherry has no weapons or items.

Going further in the Sewers, she enters the first room she sees.

34. Sewers – Room A

There is a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

There Sherry can gear up. She can carry items, but as for weapons she can’t equip them because they are too heavy for her since she is just a child.

Sherry explores the inside of the Sewers, and she finds a number of items one after another. She can carry them in her own inventory, and store them in the item box, but throughout she can’t get items placed too high, and there are also rooms that are locked.
She explores each room in this manner, and the she heads to the final room.

35. Sewers – Room B

Sherry enters, and gets a key item from a shelf. And then,

(cutscene starts)

A trapdoor triggers, and Sherry slides down on a steep slope.

Sherry “Aaaah!”

***

The room she falls into has only one door, and is dimly lit. Sherry stands up shakily, and heads towards the door, but because it’s closed from the outside, she can’t open it.

Sherry “C-Claire…”

And then she falls down there, passing out.

36. Sewers – Room A

Claire’s in the room with the digital typewriter for saving and the item box.

Claire “Where could you have gone, Sherry…”

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Claire.

37. Sewers

Claire collects all the items Sherry couldn’t, and then the first thing she does is head to a new route in the Sewers.

Spy B’s partially skeletonized remains can be seen lying, leaning against the wall.

(cutscene starts)

Overlay “A lot of time seems to have passed since he died. Who on earth is this guy?”

And then, the click of a shotgun being loaded is heard from behind.

Surprised, Claire turns around, and sees Annette Birkin standing there, holding a gun.

Annette “Who the hell are you?! …I get it. You’re a spy, sent by Umbrella, aren’t you? I see you’re still hellbent on stealing my husband’s G-virus, aren’t you?!”

Claire (shocked) “Then, you must be Sherry’s mother, Annette?!”

Annette  “What?!”

Claire “Sherry’s somewhere here inside the Sewers. Look for her with me!”

Annette “That’s nonsense. I told her to hole up at the Police Station, what the hell is she doing here?! William is after her!”

Claire “?!”

Annette “The ultimate bio-weapon on the loose is William!”

Clutching his chest, William falls down on the floor.

At that chance, Spy A steals the G-virus and T-virus samples and runs away.

Then Annette rushes into scene.

Annette “Oh my dear, hold on. I’ll call the medical team!”

William (gasping for air) “I-it’s no use. I can’t be helped anymore. Recover the G-virus and T-virus samples instead.”

Annette “No! I’ll call someone, alright?” (hurries away)

Annette’s voice “But he wanted to recover those samples at any cost. So he…”

William, grabs a G-sample from the lab bench, and injects it into his own chest.

39. Back to the Sewers (Reality)

Claire “You’re telling me he injected the G-virus into his own body?!”

Anette (nodding) The G-virus has the ability to revitalise cells. And so…”

40. Annette’s Recollection

Spy A is running in the sewers. And then, behind him a terrible roar echoes.

Startled, Spy A turns around and in front of him stands the G-Boss 1 (we don’t get to see its entire body), it attacks him.

Without so much as a noise, Spy A falls over. From his pockets, samples of the T-virus fall out, and get smashed—they flow all over. G-Boss 1, taking the remaining G-samples and documents, disappears into the darkness

What remains from Spy A’s body is taken over by sewer rats. They approach the remaining sample vials with their noses, and walk about in the spilled fluids.

Then in the darkness of the sewers, countless sewer rats appear.

41. Back to the Sewers (Reality)

Claire “So the source of the infection turning the people of this town into zombies was rats?!”

Annette “And at the same time, William also became the ultimate bio-weapon. No matter what I do, I can’t help him anymore. My husband must’ve lost all of his human memories by now.”

Claire “!”

Annette “And that’s not all. The ultimate bio-weapon William has turned into has the power to propagate itself by implanting embryos into other living beings. That’s why he’s after Sherry.”

Claire “What do you mean by that?!”

Annette “Other people’s bodies reject it. But because Sherry is related to him by blood, that issue is nonexistent. He knows that instinctually.”

At that moment, Sherry’s “Aaaah!” scream rings out.

Claire “That’s Sherry’s voice!”

42. The Room Sherry’s Locked In

G-Boss 1 (we don’t get to see its entire body) is lifting Sherry in the air.

Sherry “Help me!” (faints)

G-Boss 1 opens its mouth, the tentacle comes out, and approaches Sherry’s face.

43. Sewers

Claire “You search that way, Annette!”

Annette runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

44. The Room Sherry’s Locked In

Claire arrives on scene, and finds Sherry fallen over.

She runs up to her, and

(cutscene starts)

Stage Boss 1 appears.

And attacks.

(cutscene ends)

Upon defeating Stage Boss 1, Claire approaches Sherry, and starts talking to her,

(cutscene starts)

Claire “Wake up, Sherry!”

Sherry regains consciousness.

Sherry “Claire” (goes for a hug, but) “…my stomach, my stomach hurts…”

Claire “What’s wrong?!”

Overlay “The ultimate bio-weapon has implanted an embryo inside Sherry. If it isn’t dealt with, the embryo will hatch, and Sherry will die.”

Claire, standing up,

Claire “Let’s go now, Sherry.”

(cutscene ends)

After that, Claire leaves with Sherry in tow.

45. Cable Car – Depot

Exiting the Sewers leads into a cavern where there is a cable car depot.

The two of them press a switch, step into a car, and it departs.

46. Inside the Cable Car

As soon as the car reaches halfway,

(cutscene starts)

Suddenly, something shakes the car as it lands on its roof, and with sharp claws destroys the roof, stabbing into it. It seems to be the G-Boss.

Sherry “Aaaah!”

(cutscene ends)

Turning towards the roof, Claire fires with her gun. After a good few shots, the enemy lets off. If you don’t start shooting, ignoring the boss, sharp claws come down and you die some way or another, and it results in a Game Over.

In the end, the car reaches a mountainside depot.

48. Mansion – Front (Night)

The place they arrive at is the front of the mansion.

Unfortunately, only part of the 1st floor hall of the destroyed mansion remains. However, in the main hall giant spiders nest.

A giant spider arrives

You need to fight it while protecting Sherry. Claire defeats it.

The elevator stops at the Pharmaceutical Plant’s marshalling yard and a giant warehouse extending from it.

49. Warehouse and Marshalling Yard (Night)

At the marshalling yard, there are countless rails, freight cars and diesel trains, and in the middle of the marshalling yard, there is a turntable that can turn railroad cars around, and right at its midpoint a diesel train is parked, and as Claire steps into the cockpit,

(cutscene starts)

Sherry (holding her stomach) “Claire, my stomach… my stomach hurts…”

Shaking, she falls on the ground.

Claire (running up to her) “Hold on, Sherry. She has a terrible fever. If I don’t hurry, the embryo will… Just stay right here.”

(cutscene ends)

Claire, upon examining the cockpit, realises the lever to operate the train isn’t there, and so she examines the warehouse, and there she spots the lever. That triggers G-Boss 2 to appear (G-Boss 1 was killed by Leon in scenario B).

Fight with G-Boss 2

Upon defeating it,

(cutscene starts)

The whole situation was observed by Annette from the shadows.

Annette “M-my dear…” (she disappears)

(cutscene ends)

With that, Claire returns to the diesel train with lever in hand, and upon plugging in the lever

(cutscene starts)

The turntable starts to slide down underground.

At the same time in the warehouse, the defeated G-Boss 2 starts shedding its skin. The skin on its abdomen starts shredding to pieces, two inhuman arms burst out from it.

50. Underground Lab – Underground Lobby (Night)

As the descending turntable stops, the scenery changes completely and what lies ahead is the giant lobby of a near-futuristic underground lab.

On the floor of the diesel train is Sherry, who is panting feverishly.

Claire “Hold on, Sherry.”

Claire departs the diesel train embracing Sherry close to her chest. (fade out)

51. Underground Lab – Room

(Fade in) the two enter. It’s a room with an item box and a digital typewriter for saving.

Claire sets Sherry down a bed.

Claire “Just rest here, okay? Don’t worry, I’ll be back with some medicine.”

Sherry “Claire… Thank you. Because I’m an only child, I always felt alone because my Dad and Mum always had to be at work. But now, you’re here, Claire. I love you, Claire.”

With that, big droplets of tears start running down Sherry’s cheeks.

Claire “Sherry…”

Claire hugs Sherry tight, and then stands up.

(cutscene ends)

From this point on, everything leads to the final climax.

Then a huge explosion rings, shaking the entire laboratory.

Claire “Wh-what’s going on?!”

At the same time, an announcement fills the entire place.

Announcer “The destruction system has been activated. It cannot be aborted. Anybody inside take shelter immediately.” (repeating)

(cutscene ends)

Claire rushes out of the room.

53. Same Location – The Hallway Outside

Fire engulfs everything. Steam escapes everywhere..

Zombies covered in flames attack.

54. Same Location – William’s Lab

Claire arrives and enters when

(cutscene starts)

Annette is mixing chemicals at a lab bench.

Overlay “Annette is mixing chemicals.”

Claire “Annette!”

Annette is startled, and suddenly she grabs the shotgun nearby and fires at Claire. Bamm!

Dodging, Claire leaps behind cover.

Annette “How dare you kill my husband! That’s unacceptable! Show yourself!”

Claire “Annette!”

Annette then shows off the G-virus, and

Annette “If you want the G-virus, it’s right here. I’ve just cultured it. You think I’d give it to anyone?  It’s the most important thing my husband has left behind!”

Bamm! She fires off.

Claire “Stop this nonsense right now! Sherry is in danger. William has implanted his embryos in her. They could hatch any minute. And if that happens, then Sherry will be gone.”

Annette “!” (trembling)

In that instant, Claire jumps out of cover and throws herself at Annette.

The G-virus sample is knocked from Annette’s hand, and smashes into pieces on the ground.

Annette “The G-virus!”

With the force of her entire body, Annette shakes Claire off, and runs outside the room.

55. Same Location – The Hallway Outside

Rushing outside, Annette runs, turns a corner, and then stops dead in her tracks.

G-Boss 4 stands in front of her (G-Boss 3 was defeated in Leon B’s story, what appears here is G-Boss 4 having shed its skin).

Annette “Wi-William… my dearest, you’re alive.”

In the next second, G-Boss 4 raises his arm extending his sharp claws high.

Annette “Aaaah!”

Claire rushes on scene, hearing her scream.

As she turns the corner, Annette is lying on the ground. G-Boss 4 is nowhere to be seen.

Claire “Annette!” (runs up to her)

Annette”s gasping with blood pooling from her stomach.

Annette “William’s alive. He becomes stronger, shedding his skin after each defeat…” (gasps) “Sherry…”

Claire “Tell me! How can I help Sherry?!”

Anette “The way to create an antidote is all detailed here..”

Claire obtains the file on how to create the chemical.

Annette “Please, save Sherry. A-and please forgive me for being a bad mother. Tell her I’ve always loved her… Sherry…”

A single tear streaks down her face, and then she passes on going limp.

Claire “Annette!”

And then Leon runs up to the scene shouting “Claire!”.

Claire “Leon!”

Leon (looking at Annette) “This woman… how did she die?”

Claire “A monster killed her. But that doesn’t matter now. You need to help Sherry, she’s waiting in the train.”

Leon “What are you planning to do?!”

Claire “Don’t worry. I’ll be quick.”

Leon runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

Claire returns to William’s lab, and mixes the antidote following the file. Once she’s done, she leaves the lab once again, and that triggers

(cutscene starts)

A new announcement filling the room.

Announcer “5 minutes remain until detonation. Anybody inside seek shelter with utmost immediacy.”

The countdown has started, and

(cutscene ends)

G-Boss 4 arrives. The final, all-deciding battle!

If you are unable to defeat it within the time limit, it results in a Game Over.

If it is done within the time limit, Claire instantly runs to the turntable with the clock ticking down.

56. Same Location – Turntable

Claire arrives running.

(cutscene starts) (no more countdown)

The diesel train starts, and Leon leans outside the cockpit.

Leon “Hurry, Claire!

(cutscene ends)

Claire jumps on the train.

57. Rushing Diesel Train

The remaining time reaches zero,

(cutscene starts)

a huge explosion occurs. Flames fill the entire screen in a second, and a violent shake hits the train.

Claire “Sherry!”

Claire holds Sherry’s passed out body lying on the bed, protecting her from the shaking.

Finally, the shaking abates, and Claire administers the antidote to Sherry.

After what feels like ages, Sherry opens her eyes.

Sherry “C-Claire…”

Overlay “The antidote worked, the embryo is eradicated!”

Claire “Everything’s alright. You’re back to normal now, Sherry!”

Sherry “Claire!”

The two hug happily.

Leon watches the whole thing play out from the cockpit delightfully.

Finally, the car exits to the surface through a tunnel.

The Sun starts rising over a green field ahead.

Claire and Sherry watch the sunrise delighted with their cheeks pressed together.

Eventually, the train car turns into a speck as it leaves towards the horizon ahead.

The End

LEON B
Leon’s story (2nd part)

1. Claire’s Story (A – 1st) Important Events Recap

Raccoon City overrun by zombies.

A terrible battle unfolds as Claire protects Sherry.

Overlay “Claire Redfield – caught up in a zombie incident in Raccoon City. She is protecting Sherry, fighting with all her might, and finally succeeds in escaping the city. But on the other end, Leon S. Kennedy’s unseen story played out.”

In a Lab going up in flames…

2. Main Title

Biohazard 2

Leon turns his head and sees the rider in a full-face helmet—it’s Claire.

Despite their eyes meeting, Claire rides by.

5. Raccoon City

A town fallen into silence. Leon arrives.

A board says, “Welcome to Raccoon City.”

Not a soul in sight. A gust of wind blows a handful of dust by, and 7 or 8 crows have flown down on the road, picking at something.

Leon produces a handgun from the sleeping bag in his hand, hands it over, and

However, in front of the station is a river, and the bridge is collapsed in the middle, with black smoke rising up.

Leon gets on top of a cardboard box, and climbs over the police station’s chain-link fence, and from the 1st floor ventilation system, reaches the inside of the station.

When Leon gets inside the perimeter climbing the chain-link fence,

(cutscene starts)

He hears the noise of rotorblades from above: a helicopter ascends from the roof but Cop B fires off his gun on the roof, and the vehicle takes a sudden plunge and pierces the 3rd floor.

Leon (looks up in astonishment) “What was that?!”

(cutscene ends)

5. Police Station – 1st Floor – Room

Leon arrives on scene. It’s a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box.

Then Leon goes on to investigate all the rooms from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor, but because the helicopter destroyed the staircase with its crash, he cannot enter the 3rd floor.

7. Chris’s Diary

Same file as in Claire’s 1st story scenario.

8. Same Location – Locker Room

Upon entering, he finds the locker room for policemen.

On one side, personal lockers line the wall, in the middle there is a huge table with champagne and snacks—a simple little party was prepared with a memo left there.

Leon takes the memo.

9. Memo

Same file as in Claire’s 1st story scenario.

10. Same Location – Locker Room

Continuing on, he notices the locker bearing a nameplate saying, “Leon S. Kennedy”.

He finds that a police uniform on a hanger and two radios on a shelf are kept in it.

“Leon took the radios.” and with that, the “radio” section opens inside the status screen.

Next, is the question “There is a police uniform, will you put it on?”.

If “Yes” is chosen, Leon will wear the uniform.

11. Same Location – Hallway

Having obtained Chris’s Diary and the radios, a flag is set.

Upon arriving at the hallway,

(cutscene starts)

Sherry runs past in front, only seeing her for a second.

Leon “Who was that?!”

Running, he sees Claire ahead.

Leon “Claire!” (runs up to her)

Claire runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

If Leon does not wear the uniform during the cutscene, the final two lines are omitted.

12. Same Location – Basement 1st Floor

Having finished examining the 1st floor, Leon heads to the underground parking lot in the basement, and

(cutscene starts)

Suddenly, a zombie appears from the shadows and attacks Leon. Leon shouts in surprise. And then bamm! A gunshot rings, and the zombie falls over.

A woman steps out from the cover of a car. Ada Wong (26). A confident but breathtakingly gorgeous woman.

Ada “That was careless. Just a second, and you’d have become zombie food.”

Leon “I appreciate the help.

(cutscene ends)

Upon checking the car blocking the way, a message pops up “There is no key, but you might be able to jumpstart the engine. Will you connect the jumpstart cable?”.
Upon answering “Yes” Leon takes out the jumpstart cable, connects it, the engine roars up, and he backs up with the car, and with that, the route to Basement 2nd Floor becomes accessible.

(cutscene starts)

Ada heads towards the Basement 2nd Floor.

Leon “Ada, wait!” (follows after)

(cutscene ends)

14. Same Location – Hallway

G-Boss 1 rips zombies apart in its way, and proceeds down the hallway. A terrible roar echoes.

It won’t be easy”

Ada “Alright, we’ll figure something out.”

Ada runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

After that, no matter how many times you talk to him, Ben will just repeat the bit set in bold.

16. Same Location – Archive Room – Surface

There is a door that says “Archive Room”. To open the door, 3 key items are needed to be obtained: A, B and C.

Once all that is said and done and Leon has collected key item A, he gains entrance to the New Wing of the station.

17. New Wing – Hallway

Leon arrives at a floor under construction.

(cutscene starts)

Suddenly, “Aaaah!” a scream rings, and in front Sherry is being attacked by a zombie.

It rips off the pendant from Sherry’s neck, and it falls on the floor.

Leon’s about to run up to her, but Ada springs on scene even faster and fires off her gun to help out Sherry.

The zombie is defeated, and Sherry runs off.

Leon “Wait!”

He is about to chase after, but she is gone in a blink of an eye. Giving up the chase, he walks up to Ada.

Leon “Brutal skills, Ada. Where did you learn these things?”

But Ada doesn’t answer, instead picks up the pendant fallen on the floor.

A cute pendant in the shape of a heart.

Ada “Cute pendant. The girl dropped it. I’ll hold onto it for her.”

She fastens it around her neck, and looks up to see a ventilation hole open in the corner of the ceiling.

Ada “I could get above us climbing up there.”

Upon answering “Yes” to “Will you help Ada climb to the floor above?”,

Ada “Give me a boost. I’ll come back once I’ve checked it out.”

Leon lifts Ada on his shoulders, and Claire* [Ada] enters the floor above them through the hole.

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Ada.

18. Same Location – The Floor Above

While defeating some zombies, Ada explores the floor above. In one of the rooms, she obtains key item B. That triggers,

G-Boss 1 to swoop down from the ceiling, and to attack Ada.

Ada “Aaaah!”

She fights back, desperately firing her gun, but that has no effect on the monster as he rapidly approaches her.

19. Same Location – The Floor Below

Leon “Ada!”

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Leon.

And with that, he starts running up towards the floor above.

20. Same Location – The Floor Above

Leon arrives and is able to enter since Ada has left the area opened up.

Upon entering the room where Ada was attacked by G-Boss 1, Leon no longer finds Ada there, but a different kind of monster is, and it attacks Leon.

Upon defeating it,

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Ada! Where are you?!”

Then the radio beeps.

Claire’s voice “Come in, Leon! I’ve found the girl. I also blew up the helicopter blocking the 3rd floor, so you can enter it now.”

Leon “Roger.”

(cutscene ends)

With that, inferring from Claire’s call that the remaining key item C is in the Old Wing’s 3rd Floor, Leon heads back to the Old Wing.

21. Police Station – Old Wing – 3rd Floor

Leon examines the 3rd floor. Evidence of Claire clearing the 3rd floor, including the corpse of Chief Brian, is left all over.

22. Same Location – Third Floor – Room

Leon arrives. Ada is there.

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Where were you, Ada? I was worried.”

Ada “I was attacked by that monster, so I had to leave quick.”

(cutscene ends)

Leon examines the room, and obtains the final key item C. With everything gathered, in order to return to the Archive Room underground, the two exit to the hallway. That triggers,

(cutscene starts)

The noise of a helicopter can be heard from outside.

Ada “Is that a…?”

Leon “The sound of a helicopter!” (runs up to the window, and looks outside)

23. Same Location – Outside (Sunset)

A helicopter appears over the backdrop of a sunset sky. On its pitch-black chassis “Umbrella” is written.

***

Ada “It’s Umbrella’s helicopter!”

***

The helicopter flies towards the roof, and for a moment hovers above it, but then a black figure jumps down at the roof from the helicopter, soaring like a bird.

He wears black sunglasses and short sleeved army fatigues. He is tall and muscle-bound, and in one of his hands holds a machine gun. It’s Mysterious Man X. He walks to the edge of the roof, and climbs down.

24. Same Location – Old Wing – 3rd Floor

Crash! The glass of the window shatters, and Mysterious Man X jumps in. With his machine gun, he makes mince-meat out of the zombies that attack him, and he starts swiftly walking down the hallway. Turning the corner, he appears in front of Leon and Ada.

Leon “Who are you?!”

In place of an answer, Mysterious Man X just immediately fires off his machine gun.

Shocked, Leon and Ada immediately jump, and take cover.

But Mysterious Man X does not let up. He follows the two while firing off his machine gun, and when the bullets are depleted, he throws away the machine gun, and comes at Leon.

Leon “Ada, get away!”

Ada runs away, and

(cutscene ends)

The only thing Leon can do is fight back. He fires his gun.

He hits him in the chest, Mysterious Man X is blown back to the floor. But the bullet holes immediately disappear, and the man slowly rises up.

(cutscene starts)

Leon “This can’t be!”

Mysterious Man X (with a blank stare) “It’s no use. Weapons don’t work on me.”

(cutscene ends)

No matter how many times Mysterious Man X is hit, weapons don’t work on him. If caught up in his grasp, Leon is killed and it results in a Game Over. The only thing to do is run away.

From this point on, Mysterious Man X will show up on randomized occasions, and come to attack Leon. The game has to be progressed while avoiding him.

25. Old Wing – Basement – Archive Room – Surface

While doing all that, with key items A, B and C all in hand, Leon arrives at the Archive Room and enters inside.

Shelves line both sides of the narrow passage, and they are filled with evidence from all sorts of cases.

At the room’s innermost part, there is a door, and upon opening that, the sky can be seen right above, and there is an iron ladder leading directly above-ground. Upon trying to climb the iron ladder,

“I have to go back and collect Ada and Ben.” shows up on screen. We can’t climb it yet.

As he tries to go back to the Lockup,

(cutscene starts)

Ben’s voice “Guwaah!”

26. Lockup

Bending the iron bars of the lockup like straws, G-Boss 1 rushes up to ben.

Ben “He-help me!”

Sharp claws swiftly come down, and he falls on the floor.

(cutscene ends)

27. Same Location – Lockup

As Leon returns to the lockup, Ben’s lying on the ground inside groaning. Blood is pooling from his torso. Upon talking to him,

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Hold on, Ben!”

Ben (panting) “Shi-shit… I hid myself so well, and yet, still got offed by a monster.”

Then Ada arrives.

Ada (looking at Ben in horror) “Ben…”

Ben (looking at Ada) “You, I’ll tell you what’s going on. This is the scoop I got.”

From his pocket, he produces “William’s Orders”, and hands it to Leon.

Ben “That little baby’s a copy of the orders the head of the Umbrella Pharmaceutical Plant, William Birkin sent to this station's police chief.”

28. A Copy of William’s Orders

Same file as in Claire’s 1st story scenario.

He’s about to follow her when the radio beeps.

Claire’s voice “Leon, come in. We’re leaving.”

Leon “What?! The streets are full of zombies. You’re making a mistake!”

Claire’s voice “It’ll be fine. Follow us later.”

Leon “Claire!” (puts away the radio) “Women are all the fucking same.”

(cutscene ends)

Following Ada, he heads outside.

30. Same Location – Surface – Town (Night)

The Sun has already completely set.
The gameplay involves arriving at the entrance of the sewers while fighting zombies.
This is a different route to what Claire takes, the entrance is also not the same.

31. Sewers – Entrance (Night)

Upon arriving at the entrance, you find Ada standing there.

(cutscene starts)

Leon suddenly slaps Ada over the face.

Ada “What was that for?!”

Leon “Be fucking reasonable! Rushing out alone like that. Or did you forget that the monster who killed Ben and that man sent by Umbrella are loose in this town?!”

Ada “!”

Leon “I’m a cop. It’s my job to protect your life. We can’t succeed acting all willy-nilly. The only thing we should do is work together from now on.”

Leon stares at the motionless Ada with a stern gaze.

Ada “Leon… I understand.”

(cutscene ends)

There is an iron ladder with a hatch leading into the sewers they can’t enter.

But there you find an item with which you can enter the still unsearched rooms of the New Wing of the police station. You have to go back to the New Wing once more.

This time, if you talk to Ada again, she will repeat the final bit set in bold.

(cutscene starts)

Ada “I’ll follow your lead from now on.”

(cutscene ends)

32. Police Station – New Wing (Night)

Leon obtains the item that opens the entrance of the sewers upon searching the still unsearched rooms.

That triggers,

G-Boss 1 to appear.

Fight with G-Boss 1.

Upon defeating it, you discover a route that directly leads to the sewers entrance without having to cross the town again.

At that point, if Leon were to return to the New Wing, G-Boss 1 would be nowhere to be found.

Ada “But!”

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Ada.

After that, no matter how many times you talk to him, Leon will just repeat the bit set in bold.

34. Sewers – Passageway

Ada arrives.

(cutscene starts)

The click of a shotgun being loaded is heard from behind, turning around, the barrel of a gun is thrust right into her face.

I’m not handing the secret of the G-virus over to anybody.”

Once again her finger tightens against the trigger, but then she notices the necklace lying against Ada’s chest, and

Annette (shocked) “Where did you find that necklace?! I gave that to my daughter, Sherry! How did you get it?!”

Ada “She dropped it so I’m holding onto it for her.”

Annette “That can’t be. Give it to me!”

She reaches her hand to grab the necklace.

In that instant, Ada lifts her leg to kick the shotgun away.

But then,

***

Footsteps are heard treading the water below. It’s Mysterious Man X.

***

Bang! One of the doors open, and Mysterious Man X bursts in.

Annette (staring in shock) “You…!”

At that moment, Annette swiftly runs away, and Mysterious Man X attacks Ada.

(cutscene ends)

Ada has to exit the room avoiding his attacks.

35. Same Location – Sewers 1st Floor – Passageway

Ada runs bursting out of the room. After running up to one point,

(cutscene starts)

She grabs the necklace from her chest, and examines it, opening the lid, inside is a small vial, with a label saying “G” attached.

Ada “A sample of the G-virus?!”

But in that instant, from the sewer behind her, Stage Boss 1 attacks fiercely.

Ada “Aaaah!”

36. Sewers – Passageway

That scream is heard by Leon who is leaning against the wall.

Leon “That voice?!”

He rises up with all his might.

(cutscene ends)

The game switches to Leon.

Leon starts running towards the direction where he heard Ada’s voice from.

(This time, if Leon does not go and help Ada, and is slow to reach the area of the fight, Ada will die, and this will result in a Game Over.)

37. Sewers – 2nd Floor Passageway

Leon arrives.

(cutscene starts)

Ada is being attacked by Stage Boss 1.

Leon “Ada!”

(cutscene ends)

The fight with Stage Boss 1 starts.

As Leon begins to attack, Stage Boss turns its attention from Ada to Leon and attacks him. Once Stage Boss is defeated after a gruelling fight, once again

(cutscene starts)

Leon’s face turns into a grimace from his shoulder gunshot wound, and he leans against the wall.

Ada “Leon!” (she comes rushing)

Leon “Shit… this bullet wound from before…”

Ada “Calm down. I’ll take care of you.”

While she treats his wound

Ada “That’s twice now. That you helped me…”

Leon “Don’t mention it.”

Ada “John’s dead.”

Leon “What?”

Ada “But maybe I didn’t even love him. Even after I heard he died, I didn’t feel sad one bit.”

Ada tries to say something more but stops.

Ada (smiling) “There, you’re good to go. Let’s just get out of here as soon as possible.”

Giving a fleeting glimpse at the necklace around her neck, Ada stands up.

(cutscene ends)

Leon advances further inside the sewers, with Ada by his side.

38. Cable Car – Depot

The two arrive. Because Claire and Sherry have already used the cable car, it’s stopped at the other side. Upon pressing a switch,

(cutscene starts)

The cable car starts returning from the other side, but at the same time, from inside the sewers they’ve just come from, a strange roar echoes.

Sewers—G-Boss 2 (we don’t get to see its entire body) is coming with terrible intensity.

Leon “Run!”

The cable car arrives and the two get on, just as G-Boss 2 shows up and jumps on top of the moving car.

It destroys the roof, stabbing into it with sharp claws.

(cutscene ends)

Leon fires his gun, turning towards the roof. After a good few shots, G-Boss 2 lets off and everything falls silent. If you don’t start shooting, ignoring the boss, the two die some way or another, and it results in a Game Over. In the end, the car arrives at a mountainside depot.

39. Caves – Inside

From the depot they reached, the two arrive at the underground cave system from BIO1 that connects to the labs. But after the explosion, only one part of the caves is accessible.

He sees the flamethrower used in BIO1 that’s on the hooks. He takes it.

Continuing on, they climb an iron ladder leading to ground level.

40. Mansion – Front (Night)

The place they arrive at is the front of the mansion.

Unfortunately, only part of the 1st floor hall of the destroyed mansion remains.

Stepping inside, two giant spiders show up.

(cutscene starts)

Ada “I’ll defeat that one!”

She starts climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor facing one of the spiders that appeared.

(cutscene ends)

Leon fights the other giant spider. Upon defeating it, as he climbs the stairs, Ada also ends up defeating the other giant spider, and upon talking to her,

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Are you okay, Ada?!”

Ada “Somehow we did it. Like you said, Leon. If we both work together, there’s nothing to be afraid of.”

They both smile.

(cutscene ends)

Once again with Ada tagging along, and upon examining the passageway at the back of the hall, they find a simple elevator that couldn’t be discovered during BIO1. Riding it, they descend the hill behind the mansion diagonally.

In front of them is the full view of the night visage of the Umbrella Pharmaceutical Plant.

Overlay “You see Umbrella’s Pharmaceutical Plant.”

The elevator stops at the Pharmaceutical Plant’s marshalling yard and a giant warehouse extending from it.

41. Warehouse and Marshalling Yard (Night)

At the marshalling yard, there are countless rails, freight cars and diesel trains, and in the middle of the marshalling yard, there is a giant circular hole. Because Claire has already used it, the turntable has descended. They call it back up with a press of a switch, and the two get on, and it starts to descend.

(cutscene starts)

Then, a loud roar rings, and G-Boss 3 jumps down from above (G-Boss 2 has already been defeated by A story Claire, and so it turned into G-Boss 3).

It attacks Ada.

Ada “Aaaah!”

It wounds her with its sharp claws, and she is blown to the ground.

Leon “Ada!”

(cutscene ends)

Fight against G-Boss 3.

Upon defeating it,

(cutscene starts)

The turntable arrives underground. It’s the underground lab’s lowest floor, one floor lower than where Claire stopped in the A story.

Leon runs up to Ada lying on the ground.

Leon “Hold on, Ada!”

Blood’s flowing from Ada’s shoulders, and she is unconscious.

Leon “Ada!”

Leon’s scream echoes all over… (fade out)

42. Underground Lab – Room

I’ll be back soon with some medicine, just stay here until then.” (about to leave)

Ada “Wait. I’m already done for, so just escape on your own. With this wound, I’ll just slow you down.”

Leon “Don’t be silly. I’ve told you it’s my job to protect your life, haven’t I?”

Ada “But at this rate, you too will be in danger too… though it was only a short amount of time, I’ve enjoyed your company.”

Leon “Ada.”

Ada “I’m not a woman made for loving. But maybe just for you, Leon…”

A single teardrop flows from Ada’s eyes.

The two stare at each other. They kiss.

Leon (pulling away) ““Anyhow, we’re leaving together. Just wait patiently.”

(cutscene ends)

From this point on, everything leads to the final climax.
At the same time, the giant underground lab is supposed to have zombies and yet-unseen monsters, and heaps of traps set by Umbrella.
But on his way, the route Leon takes is the complete opposite of Claire A’s.

43. Underground Lab – Room A

Leon searches the laboratory, and in his track, he comes back to this room, and

(cutscene starts)

Ada is nowhere to be found.

Leon “Ada?! Where did you go, Ada?!” (he leaves the room)

44. Same Location – Outside

Leon rushes out. And then, bamm! A gunshot rings, and Leon turns his body around.

Annette holding a gun appears in front of him.

Annette “Where’s that woman? Ada Wong.”

Leon “?!”

Annette “I can’t believe this. You don’t know a thing. You idiot. That woman’s a spy employed by some organization, and she came to steal the G-virus.”

Leon “That’s nonsense!”

Annette “It’s the truth. I found out when I looked into her after I came back. She seduced John, became his girlfriend, just to steal Umbrella’s secrets! If you look inside, you’ll find a G-sample in that necklace, and once she reaches her goal, she’ll just leave you behind.”

Leon “That’s a lie! Ada isn’t like that!”

Annette “Shut up! How dare you take my husband’s research!”

She is about to fire the shotgun, but then from right above her, Mysterious Man X jumps down, and attacks.”

Annette “Aaah!” (pummeled to the ground)

Then Mysterious Man X goes after Leon.

(cutscene ends)

Leon runs from room to room. But this time Mysterious Man X does not let up. Just keeps pursuing him.

45. Same Location – Room

Leon bursts in. It’s an overpass, and there is nowhere to run.

Mysterious Man X also enters, and runs up right in front of him. This is the end of the line.

(cutscene starts)

The skin on Mysterious Man X’s hand bursts into pieces, and a sharp claw emerges, it raises it up immediately.

But then, Ada jumps in.

Ada “Leon!” (firing her gun)

Mysterious Man X turns around, and now attacks Ada.

He quickly grips her with both hands, and lifts Ada up in the air.

Leon “Ada!”

The chain of the necklace around her neck rips, and falls into the giant vat of acid below. Smoke rises up, and it melts instantly.

Ada “The G-virus!”

Still caught by both hands, she desperately fires her gun.

With that hit, Mysterious Man X loses his footing.

With a cry, Mysterious Man X tumbles into the giant vat head first. A giant puff of smoke rises, and he sinks melting.

Ada is moaning on the ground.

Leon “Ada!” (runs up to her)

Ada (moaning) “Le-Leon…”

Blood’s flowing from her abdomen.

Leon “Ada, just who are you? Are you really a spy?”

At that moment, the surface of the giant vat starts bubbling up, and a huge splash shoots up, and a strange monster jumps out, and lands on the overpass. Sharp claws. Mysterious Man X was actually a tyrant.

Ada “Ru-run, Leon! Destroy the lab, and get away! Hurry!”

Leon “Ada!”

By that point the Tyrant has already come to pursue him.

(cutscene ends)

Leon’s running.

46. Same Location – Lowest Floor – Room

Leon bursts into a room. There he finds the lab’s self-destruct system.

In the same room he also grabs a rocket launcher. Upon turning on the self-destruct system,

(cutscene starts)

Announcer “The self-destruct system has been turned on. 5 minutes remain until detonation. Anybody inside seek shelter with utmost immediacy.”

47. Same Location – Montage

Pipes burst open, gases and flames escape all over.

Zombies covered in flames walk about.

***

Even the turntable area is engulfed in flames. In flames, the body of the defeated G-Boss 3 there starts to twitch and spasm. Its abdomen shreds to pieces, and it starts shedding its skin. Two inhuman arms burst out from it.

(cutscene ends)

48. Same Location – Lowest Floor

Leon returns to the area where Ada fell on the ground, and upon talking to her,

(cutscene starts)

Ada (gasping) “Hurry, get out of here, Leon!”

Leon “Ada… just who…”

Ada “A woman who loves you. Just a woman who… ugh…” (she passes away)

Leon “Adaaa!”

(cutscene ends)

49. Same Location – Hallway

As Leon arrives, Claire is standing there. Annette is lying on the ground.

(cutscene starts)

Leon (running up) “Claire!”

Claire “Leon!”

Leon (looking at Annette) “This woman… how did she die?”

Claire “A monster killed her... but that doesn’t matter now. You need to help Sherry, she’s waiting in the train.”

Leon “What are you planning to do?!”

Claire “Don’t worry. I’ll be quick.”

Claire runs off, and

(cutscene ends)

50. Same Location – Underground 1st Floor

Sherry is sleeping in a room with a digital typewriter for saving and an item box. As Leon arrives at the outside of the room, the Tyrant shows up. At the same time the countdown starts.

Fight against the Tyrant. Defeated with the rocket launcher.

(cutscene ends)

51. Same Location – Room

As Leon enters, Sherry is sleeping on the bed.

(cutscene starts)

Leon “Sherry, come with me!”

(cutscene ends)

Leon with Sherry in tow exits the room.

52. Same Location – Turntable

If you arrive at the turntable just in time

Game is completed.

(cutscene starts)

Leon and Sherry get on the diesel train.

Leon starts the diesel train.

Then Claire arrives running.

Leon “Hurry, Claire!

Claire jumps on the train. At the same time the remaining time reaches zero, and a huge explosion occurs. Flames fill the entire screen in a second, and a violent shake hits the train.

Claire “Sherry!”

Claire holds Sherry’s passed out body lying on the bed, protecting her from the shaking.

Finally, the shaking abates, and Sherry regains her consciousness.

Leon “We will attack him from two sides. Claire, you get behind him through the roof.”

Claire “Got it! Leon, when the time comes, use these rounds!”

Leon receives depleted uranium rounds from Claire.

Claire “We will only get one shot together, we will use these to put an end to all this.”

Leon “Understood!”

Claire leaves.

(cutscene ends)

Leon heads to the connecting wagon.

There awaits G-Boss 5 (G-Boss 4 got defeated in Claire A).

The final, all-deciding battle against G-Boss 5.

To win this battle, you need to deal a specific amount of damage to G-Boss 5. Once that’s reached, it triggers

(cutscene starts)

To attack G-Boss 5 from both sides, Claire jumps in from the coupler door from the other end of the wagon.

Claire “It’s time, Leon! We’ll finish him off together!

The wagon G-Boss 5 is on rides steadily on its own, but then goes up in a huge explosion.

Away from there, Leon watches on in the cockpit.

Leon “Ada…”

On his face, inexpressible sadness wells up.

Eventually, the train car turns into a speck as it leaves towards the horizon ahead.

The End

Spoilers for the script follow if you haven't read it yet.
For people who've followed our translation efforts over the years, or looked into it themselves, they probably noticed that in the final game, the English voice-over is significantly different to the Japanese subtitles in parts. We often chalked that up to miscommunication, creative liberties, censorship, or straight up mistranslation, but in this particular case, several significant differences are largely due to the shooting script for the voice-over being based on this or other early versions of the script before it was revised, or when re-recording was prohibitive.

For the story aspect of the script, to anybody familiar with the game, it's immediately noticeable that the B story opening with the witnessing of the helicopter crash is now the A story's main spectacle, only observed from a distance by the second character.

Kendo, who is a carry-over from the BIOHAZARD 1.5 character John, is missing from this version of the script, which means he was reinserted later on. His character model and FMV model were both reused. In addition, "Cop C" was given the name and model for Marvin Branagh, another partner character from the previous version.

Other story interactions become more clear in this version of the script, for example, we finally find out where Leon got the radios from, alongside the idea of him starting out in civilian gear and putting his uniform on at the station, which was reintroduced in RE:2, alongside other parts of the script such as the sewers connecting to a second trek through other parts of the city.

One underwhelming difference is how this version of the script describes the whole ordeal between Birkin and Umbrella's Spy trying to steal the G-virus. The script is nothing like the tense visual spectacle the reworked version produced in the final game thanks to IMAGICA's jaw-dropping CGI FMV.

One significant element of this script is that we finally get to understand how the elusive mansion ruins connected to the scenario. It's something the developers wanted to revisit pretty much since they finished working on the first game, but this time around we get to see a somewhat organic connection to the rest of the scenario, which builds upon the sprawling undergound cable car network (later referenced in Zero), and also how the marshalling yard had multiple rails leading in all sorts of directions (referenced in Outbreak and ORC).

The cable car network connecting to the cave system from 1 makes sense, and interestingly enough there was even a big open area in the original game that was left unused, although its remake added an elevator to it leading further below, as well as the addition of the door behind the stairs, again just leading to an additional self-contained area in the case of BIO1 remake, instead of the elevator system in this older script.

One unused story element talked about in an interview is Ada's former lover John showing up to redeem himself for assisting in development of the T-virus. He was supposed to assist the player by giving them anti T-virus bullets in the fight against the Tyrant, instead in this draft Leon and Claire use "depleted uranium rounds" against G-5, which may be a holdover from the John idea.

Another thing already understood from interviews is that Ada's death in the story was originally supposed to be definitive, and it was only later changed by Kamiya. This is reflected in this script very clearly: in both the A and B story, Ada's death is fairly definitive, and both Leon and Claire find the rocket launcher used to defeat the Tyrant in the B story in one of the rooms.

Also, about the Tyrant, we also get a somewhat definitive source for the name "Mr. X" used by Western marketing. For years, it was a mystery as to how it got so prevalent. Concept art did include the name Tyrant X in annotations; however, this script reveals the more humanoid form of the Tyrant was addressed as "Mysterious Man X", from which Mr. X easily follows. Its design was also more reminiscent of the Terminator, with black sunglesses and heavy-set muscles. Concept art also alluded to more militaristic designs such as the machine gun he wields in this script.

Overall, the core progression for the story is well-established in this draft, and it makes sense no extreme changes were made to the script considering the fairly short time they had rewriting the game and it going gold (less than 12 months).
