Another resident of the Raccoon City Zoo, the crocodile dubbed "Gnaw" did not grow to the gargantuan proportions witnessed with the Alligator also seen in Raccoon City or Sheena Island, indicating a difference between the two species' response to the T-virus. Gnaw, remains however, a much larger version of its former self. The crocodiles hunt in their vast watery enclosure, and wait in ambush for prey to come nearby.

The Yawn was originally a poisonous snake bred in captivity in the Arklay Laboratory for use in t-virus experiments as a test subject for B.O.W. development. After the outbreak at the facility in May 1998, the snake escaped from containment and was subsequently infected with the virus.
