Dev. code: "MA-120". The Hunter was the first battle-type B.O.W. to be developed, and the primary product of Umbrella Corporation on the B.O.W. market. The Hunter is developed from a fertilized human egg transfected with reptilian genetic material and infected with the t-Virus. Based on genetic engineering techniques, the t-Virus itself is likely the vector used to introduce reptilian genes into the human egg. The resulting creature is a frightening cross between human and reptile with exemplary combat abilities and high intelligence. Having many different types, models and subspecies, the Hunter is a representative model of a successful B.O.W.

The 'Hunter γ' (Dev. code: "MA-124", nicknamed "Frogger") was an amphibian-based subspecies of the Hunter B.O.W. It was a unique experiment in reversing the method of creation of the Hunter by infusing a fertilized amphibian egg with human DNA.

MA121 RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS REPORT

As a result of improvements on the MA120 over a long time, we have finally reached our target of a "highly versatile B.O.W." with the completion of the MA121 Hunter.
In regards to the Hunter, although it has already achieved sufficient results as a B.O.W., development of the Hunter R and other enhanced species has been advanced in order to upgrade and achieve further versatility. It won't take long to find practical uses for them.

MA121研究開発 経過報告

Farfarello (meaning "Slanderer", or "elf", "goblin" or "evil spirit") was an improved species of the Hunter B.O.W.

History

The Farfarello was developed by a group within the FBC (Federal Bioterrorism Commission) by administering the t-Abyss virus to regular Hunters. In 2005, several were sent to a mountain range in Finland to attack the fake hideout of the terrorist group Il Veltro.
