The image is from the Biohazard 5 Official Artworks collection, HUNK.  You can find scans of it here:

Good stuff, great site.  Enjoy!

My friend, and yours, TheSelfishGene has taken a look at the pic, the majority of it is too small to make out, so any bigger pic would be good.

He says the title is "Sand decomissioned ship" and the text refers to the assortment of rooms and people and cabins.

EDIT:

On a separate note that came up in convo, I was made aware of an early pic from RE5 which makes very interesting reading.

I'd love to know how Barry is connected to all this.  Most likely, that sentence is just a brief summary of the beginning of the series, something like "Chris, along with Jill and Barry, escaped the Arklay Mansion..."  But hypothetically speaking, wouldn't it be interesting to find out Capcom intended to involve Barry in RE5?

For the first image, the larger words say Wrecked (for lack of better words, not functioning/broken beyond repair) Ship of the Desert. the words between the two ~ are 'weapon dealer's residence' and the rest I can't read clearly w/o opening up Photoshop or something.

Thank you for the translations!  I appreciate it.

So the rusted ship hulk was originally intended to be the location of an arms dealer/merchant.  Interesting.  I would have liked this idea, as long as they didn't give the merchant magical teleportation abilities like they did in RE4.

I'd have said Weapons Dealer/Merchant = Irving, not the RE4 style Merchant.

Especially considering Irving did end up on a boat...

That's an interesting idea, zombiemessia.  I guess the only reason I was thinking "Merchant" was because of these two images:

I just assumed that the abandoned ship might have been a B.S.A.A. forward supply base of sorts, but I think I like your idea better.  Irving's original B.O.W. distribution point, perhaps.  Given the desert-like location, perhaps this is where we were to first encounter the Popokarimu.

I just wish that Capcom would give us a little background info on these images when they release them.  I don't think that would be too much to ask.

NICE images Chimera - may I ask where those last 2 are from ? They seem to have an atmospheric, earlier style to them, than the survival horror-less RE5 stuff! I like the boat, don't know why but it reminds me of the Alien films

Hey guys...  I know that everyone is super busy right now, but could any of you please translate the Raccoon Today (AKA "Newspaper #1") article from RE: Outbreak File #2 "End of the Road" scenario for me?

Quote:

June 10, 1998

"Illegal Art Ring"

Defunct local art museum Rams, which closed last February, has allegedly sold some 200 stuffed wildlife specimens on the auction block., paintings, and other pieces are accounted for and have been sold to private collectors and legitimate museums, but no information concerning the specimens has emerged.

Sculptures, paintings, and other pieces are accounted for and have been sold to private collectors and legitimate museums, but no information concerning the specimens has emerged.

The police are demanding that the auctioneer relinquish an inventory list confirming their whereabouts. Such specimens are banned from sale by auction, and rumors of endangered species in this batch are rampant.

I am mainly interested in the date.  Can we confirm that it is indeed 1998?

Thanks in advance!  I appreciate it!

Just for your research Paul, the museum in File 3 is an art museum specifically.

I'm curious about the images that show who I believe is supposed to be Excella (but I'm gonna call S.O.A. Suzuki) chaining Sheva to a wall and getting killed by a stubby armed tyrant.

The image of Wesker carrying Jill's body echos Frankenstien, and the image of him and some suit in what appears to be anothe rmovie laser room is strange. Was Irving supposed to be more gentlemanly early on?

I was wondering if this article (from RE4 Perfect Capture Guide) is somehow related to the 3rd Organization. A friend of mine from another RE Forum made a brief translation of the first part and said it is indeed related to the 3rd Organization. I wish someone from here could confirm it.

[Chimera Edit: Dead Links.  See Below.]

Thanks.

The page about Wesker says that he went to the 3rd Organization after S.T.A.R.S. Which adds to my initial theory that he was never part of The Organization. Hmm. It does make a lot more sense and falls in line with his statement in CV:

"You destroyed my plans, so now I've sold my soul to a new organization."

The timeline in the Darkside Chronicles book also adds to it, by stating that Wesker is Ada's employer, rather than partner. ALL of Wesker's activities in the series are also pretty independent.

Great find this. I assumed the term '3rd Organization' was exclusive to Archives II considering there is no mention of it in either the Bio4 or 5 Kaitaishinshos.

The only problem with Wesker never being part of 'The Organization' theory is Wesker's Report specifically stating that he joined an opposing corporation of Umbrella. And of course he mentions he was 'hired by an organization' in Code Veronica. Plus this would explain how he first met Ada.

Perhaps he founded '3rd Organization' directly after the mansion incident, but at the same time joined 'The Organization'? His '3rd Organization' would need time to build up and grow so he made ties with other corporations to build up his contacts. This article does say it is an underground organization after all.

The RE5 Declassified booklet does say he joined a host of different companies for a short while before abandoning them when it suited his own needs.

Umbrella ------> The Organization -------> His own underground movement.

Hence, '3rd Organization."

We could do with getting a completed transcript of this.

Its in Bio4. But its also referred to as "The Organization" since this was before Separate Ways was incorporated.

I can see it a little simpler: Umbrella is the 1st organization, Ada's organization could be the 2nd one involved and Wesker's 3rd is the one related with H.C.F. (maybe their special forces, just like Umbrella has the UBCS and Umbrella Special Forces). Because we only know Wesker is alive in RECV, Umbrella and Ada's organization (the "Agency" Annette mentions in RE2?) came first to our knowledge, so Wesker would be the 3rd organization coming to the RE games at that moment.

A silly vision, but it's another point of view. Ada is a double agent (there is another part in this article talking about Ada, I'm going to take a good picture of it soon) and this same book states she is indeed a double agent, just like Archives II says.

I'm going to take pictures of other articles from this book, hoping they could be as helpful as this one. ^_^

The term "3rd Organization" actually has no relevance, its from Bitores Mendez's reference to Ada working as a third party. It's just now coined as the name of Wesker's organization.

You're right! Also, 'Krasuer's Note' from RE4 is actually "Memo to Krauser's Colleague" in the Japanese version.

It appears that Saddler did not seem to trust me from the beginning.

(omitted)

And I will deliver the corpse of that woman to [the source of] Wesker together with Leon once he's been dealt with and deprived of the 'sample'.

I don't understand how Krauser delivered a sample to Wesker when he didn't have one...

I think this information is relevant because we finally know Wesker did not go jumping from organization to organization as many people believed all this time. He joined the 3rd Organization after the Mansion Incident and some time later he joined forces with Tricell. Anyway, mystery solved apparently. ^^

He joined, or he created it?

For what I saw, I thought that he created it. It's interesting to see that wasn't a new thing, apparently existing since his "death" in 1998...

Wesker's RE5 file proves he was in contact/alligned with a number of Umbrella rivals. Tricell and 'S' were primal examples (translations and such strongly suggest them to be different entities). He just had all of his resources accumulated (which he was originally channeling into The 3rd Org./his new Umbrella) and put all of them to work with Uroboros, using Tricell to finish this final goal and no longer requiring his other allies after the Spencer Estate. Also, it's been established that 'The Agency' was an inaccurate translation in RE2, Annette really called the group (which is indeed the same Org. that hired Wesker and Ada following the mansion) an organization and that name is only official to them in S.D. Perry's novels, which are utterly non-canon to the source material.

Welsh wrote:

I think it means he was planning to, along with Leon and Ada's corpses, but his death prevented him from killing anyone OR getting the sample. I dunno, I could be misreading.

This isn't so much a TL request as much as a question about something on the site that was translated. Is the information in Carlos' profile  on the site (namely, the information about him being the only survivor of his organization, crossing the border, capture and death sentencing before being recruited to the U.B.C.S.) something from one of the Japanese infomation or guide books? I see one of the guidebooks cited, but it's not specified what it's being cited for, so I'm curious about what canon source that bit of information is as PJ is the first place I've read that bit about him (unless I am blind and have somehow missed it all of thie time :Drunk.

I have the english translation of this incredible book. As a game, RE5 was a low-point for me, but this art book is superb.

I have scanned some of the more unique pages here ~
