Ok, as we know Shawn Roberts will be playing Albert Wesker in the upcoming movie. What I want to know is what kind of sunglasses he has. They look strangely familiar. I checked some kind of movie prop bidding site and they have already been sold much to my disappointment. Here's a picture of them. (May contain spoilers!)
Oh, and by the way, who is that girl next to Chris? Anyone know?

The fact that they made Wesker jump from shady businessman sitting at the board table right into trench coat-wearing, super fast, Agent Smith-esque badass seemed like too much of a stretch; he didn't have enough development in Extinction. Hopefully it won't seem to off. As for the girl with Chris, it really looks like Claire.
Yeah, I looked up who it was and got a load of theories. Some say Sheva, some say Jill, and some say Claire, but I don't really think that's Ali Larter. (I also have really bad eyesight XD) Anyone else have any ideas of who it could be? Thought the pic seems to be recreating the cutscene where Wesker throws his sunglasses at Chris and then proceeds to deliver a unholy beat down.
How much would you give to control a lifetime of time in a frozen segment of timelessness? Trillions of molecules makin' up life forms in space.
I doubt it's Sheva, since she isn't African American; but yes, that is definitely remaking the scene from RE5 where Wesker distracts Chris and Sheva. Chris and Claire (or whoever it might be) have cornered him in his command room, which I think that room is since he is getting up from a mechanical chair. Looks like he is buying himself some time to either escape or beat the crap out of them. Wonder if he already injected himself with the virus or if he does in the movie?
I heard that they had a martial art teacher or whatever they're called so I'm guessing that's for a Alice versus Wesker fight, but I hope they did the right thing and let Chris finish him off and not with a rocket to the face. That was just too cheap a death for Wesker.

That is indeed Ali Larter as Claire reflected in the lense. Here's a bigger version of the picture in question:

You can also see Milla standing in the background through the same lense in which Ali's reflection appears.
You know, I'm gonna hate this movie. But to his credit, Shawn Roberts looks a lot better as Wesker than I thought he would. Considering how young he is (25) I thought he wouldn't look the part at all. His costume looks like a recreation of the 5 one too, which is kind of awesome.
Still. This movie is gonna suck.
Regarding his shades, I was wondering the same thing. They look pretty slick. Much better than the Extinction shades he wore.
Yeah, those in Extinction looked like sunglasses you got at a gas station for 5 bucks. I'm trying to find what kind they are and so far have only like I said above found the actual ones sold to some lucky SOB . Will I never find sunglasses perfect for my Wesker costume. Man I'll just have to go as Morpheus (human XD)... again.

From the looks of the image, Alice is standing in front of Wesker's chair on the other side of the room, opposite Chris and Claire. He's been cornered on all sides! Looks like he is making a fast move to distract the Redfields and deal with Alice, who is obviously the bigger threat. It seems Alice has the unfair advantage, though; Wesker's virus was created to make him super fast, strong, and resistant, but Alice is no longer controlled by Umbrella's computers and has psychokinesis on her side. This should be an interesting battle...
Maybe he doesn't see Alice... hmm her with psychic powers seems unfair in a fight against Wesker and everything else she'll fight in the movie. I hope they'll do the right thing and have everyone separated from each other except for Chris and Wesker and have those two duke it out.

Perhaps... And it looks to me like they could make it so Chris and Wesker have a history in the movie cotinuity; like they met before, and Wesker was responsible for Chris being locked up in Los Angeles, or something like that. It would not be good at all for Chris to be a total stranger to Wesker and be the one to finish him off in the last fight. If they don't have a prior history and meet for the first time in REA, then Alice has to be the one to finish the fight, since she has a personal score to settle with Wesker and Umbrella.
No, Alice has to finish the fight because this is a ScreenGems movie and they don't know how else to take out their badguys.
If Wesker dies in this, you know he'll how go out like a bitch, too.
Sad.
Sad, indeed. If he does die in this, they should just end the second rate series and let Capcom go back to making source material CGI films like Degeneration. I wouldn't mind seeing that happen to the originals (0-4, CVX, and new scenarios in UC & DC), so that the alternate, non-canon scenarios can be corrected and we know exactly how it all went in proper order. That would be very nice. Regardless, if this is Wesker's last stand in Hollywood's films, then they should end them here...
New trailer: http://www.blogomatic3000.com/2010/04/03/resident-evil-afterlife-3-d-trailer-leaked
Looks alright, look forward to seeing it especially as its actually filmed in 3D and done retrospecively like Clash of the Titans and Alice in Wonderland.
Also I have taken the liberty of stickying this thread into the main Afterlife discussion thread.

Neo Umbrella - that's a great name! ~~ BatMan
I was starting to think this should be the main Afterlife discussion. Good thinking, Neptune. And this trailer was epic. The audience sounded excited. I am anticipating this movie more than any in 2010 so far. I can't wait any longer! If only we had the regular screen trailer without the people in the background, and I had my own 3-D glasses! Those sunglasses flying into my face will look incredible! I am getting every single good friend of mine to come see this with me!!! As I expected, Wesker seems to be the main point of interest in this film. Look out, theaters! Also, can anyone tell me the name of the song in the trailer? And is this just a teaser, with a more detailed trailer to come? I certainly hope so...

Woo hoo! I started the Afterlife thread.

Congrats, Morpheus.
And after looking at the side articles on the same page, I found the regular screen 2D trailer: http://www.blogomatic3000.com/2010/04/03/%e2%80%98resident-evil-afterlife%e2%80%99-official-trailer/
Looks like Wesker has control over the infected, as shown by the two dogs walking out from behind his chair; also, in the facility, there are several zombies lying on operating tables. Perhaps he is trying to domesticate the T-virus victims to repopulate the world with himself as ruler?
The part where Alice is being chased by hundreds of zombies shows a guy ducking under her plane as it flies from behind him; could that be Irving? It also seemed off to have the Executioner as a T-virus B.O.W., but as shown with a zombie unwrapping its jaw into four, looks like Las Plagas is being added in. So many things I want to know, yet I will have to wait until September! >=(
Oh wow! Wesker clones it appears? I really hope Capcom makes another thing like Degeneration except based off of RE1.

They're probably Uroboros test subjects. Roberts already inadvertently confirmed that Wesker would be utilizing the Uroboros Virus in some capacity in Afterlife. I'll see if I can find the interview.
EDIT:
Here it is.

Maybe it wasn't so inadvertent after all.
What makes me most disgusted is that they have a potentially good Wesker on their hands for this movie that could be used effectively, that will only be used as fodder to make Alice look more "badass", and I put the word badass in quote marks because she's a Black-Hole Mary Sue and overshot her attempt at badass for a chance of being the movie's god-star.
No other game-based-movies has pissed me off more than this series because of that fact. Not even Uwe Boll's shitastic flicks.
The movies are nothing but fanfiction on a screen. That's how I view them anyways.

Well, the interview is a bit misleading. He says Wesker is responsible for the release "of the T-virus, or the Uroboros virus..." This sounds to me like the movie adaptation of Uroboros is just another name for the T-virus, or an updated version of it. So in Hollywood's series, there is no Progenitor; Tyrant is the original strain of it all. Since there are no other competing companies against Umbrella, I suppose it doesn't hurt to narrow the viral story down as well.
What I had hoped for was Christopher Lee playing Ozwell E. Spencer. I had believed that the Chairman and committee were taking orders from Spencer behind-the-scenes, and he would be introduced later. That is obviously untrue, so they have also cut out Wesker's partner main antagonist. And they are just now adding in Uroboros and Las Plagas in what will more than likely be the last installment, as advanced strains of the T-virus? WOW.....
I must say, they have narrowed down and rearranged the source material an inconceivable amount. Everything (Umbrella, Wesker, the different viral strains, etc.) could have used alot more development in previous titles. I had better see some major plot explanation in this one... Still, it is going to be an exciting experience, and a highly anticipated one at that.
Actually, Anderson has already said on a few occasions that this movie is the beginning of a new trilogy, though the next film will apparently be a reboot of sorts for the franchise.
Ah I see. And what do you mean by reboot? As in a new film cotinuity, or the beginning of a new Resident Evil altogether? If Afterlife begins this "reboot" trilogy, and it is already canonicially connected to the story of the first three films, then I'm guessing that it'll just involve different plot elements, as in take place in the same history but with a different setting, location, viruses, people, companies, etc. If they intend to make this secondary cotinuity last, they had better not kill off Wesker so hastily this time. That will only piss off fans twice in a freaking row, for the same damned reason no less...
I'm not certain, but I seem to recall Anderson mentioning that it would be a pseudo-remake of the first movie, or something along those lines. So I'm assuming it won't be a continuation of the plot from these four movies, but who knows.
I just want to know everyones opinions on the new film.
I think it's gonna be excellent. Somewhat better than Extinction.
CHIMERA EDIT: I transferred this over from the "Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D" topic that you started, jake3tears, and adjusted the title of this one even further.
"STOP IT! DONT OPEN THAT DOOR!"
That's a good way of looking at things, Morph, althought I'm not so sure I would ever classify Mr. Anderson as a "fan."
"Five years ago, the virus escaped, and everybody died..." That pretty much sums things up for me.
"The world is beautiful, but has a disease called man." - Friedrich Nietzsche
"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." - King Henry VI - Part 2, Act IV, Scene II
"We'll never use the damn germs... If someone uses germs on us, we'll nuke 'em." - Richard Milhous Nixon, 1969
An ordinary Holliwood action movie. It's obvious the scenario would be far from the game. The main goal is to sell the product, that's why there are a lot of things beloved by fans (the Executioner, RE-5-model Wesker, battle scenes, creepy tons of Undead creatures), but it's just a mixture of some successful images from the series without its true atmosphere. Not the thing the real RE-fan needs, and I doubt it will be the best representative of Holliwood production either. Anyway, it's my humble opinion. We'll see it in September.
We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.
George Bernard Shaw
I agree that I would hardly classify Anderson as a "fan", just due to his jerking of the story of the series around to suit his movies.
Such a far drop from his work on the first MK movie, which to this day is my favorite game movie ever.
What I don't understand is why Eva Mendes thought it a horrid idea for her to be Excella Gionne. She can't say that she'd never do the role of someone in a dress like that because it looks too slutty; just look at her character in The Spirit. XP Had that been an actual role in the film, I would've only rushed to theaters to see this faster. I would love to see Eva as an actual villain, seeing as her Sand character was more of a seductive anti-hero, but somewhat good in the end. She'd be the perfect partner for Wesker IMHO, sans the lazy, bimbo European voice.
