The Verdugo (Spanish for "Executioner") was a B.O.W. developed by the Los Illuminados in an application experiment of the Plaga parasite through genetic manipulation of insects and humans. Two of them became bodyguards of Ramon Salazar. It was considered the organization's most successful B.O.W., which rivalled the power of those developed by the Umbrella Corporation. 1 2
History
Similar in nature to the Novistador B.O.W., the Verdugo was the completed result of an application experiment involving the incorporation of insect DNA using a human as the host and then administering the Plaga, which "filled the gaps" in the creature's genetic structure.
Two specimens were created and became the personal bodyguards of Ramon Salazar. One of them (the "right hand") was sent to eliminate Leon S. Kennedy, who destroyed the creature by freezing it with liquid nitrogen and causing it to break into pieces. The other was absorbed by the mother Plaga and became fused with Salazar's mutated state.
Attributes
The Verdugo had high combat ability, with superior muscular strength and agility. Its body was covered by an extremely strong exoskeleton that rendered it virtually invulnerable to bullets and explosions. It was highly flexible and nimble, allowing it to easily squeeze through spaces in floors and ceilings where it could then attack from several angles. Its sickle-like tail was also very flexible and retractable, being able to expand and contract at will in order to attack its prey from unexpected angles.
