History

During the 90s, the company sent the female spy Ada Wong to infiltrate the Arklay Laboratory and obtain information on the t-virus. They also extended an invitation to Umbrella executive Albert Wesker to join them.

On May 11, 1998, an accident occurred in the Arklay Laboratory during injection of the virus into the Tyrant (T-002 Type). The virus leaked throughout the facility with survivors being eaten by the infected. Using her skills Wong was able to escape the facility despite orders from the facility's chief of security Albert Wesker to kill all escapees. However, in the chaos she was unable to steal the t-virus. She was instead sent to infiltrate Umbrella Headquarters.

On July 23, Albert Wesker decided to defect to Umbrella Co. while investigating the contamination of the Ecliptic Express. Although he attempted to bring his coworker Wiliam Birkin with him, he refused due to the incomplete G-virus. In order to become an executive of the results-based organization, Weker intended to bring gifts in the form of the t-virus, B.O.W. embryos, master research data, much high quality human combat data and the ultimate biological weapon, the Tyrant.

On July 25, the Tyrant was destroyed by S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service). Although Wesker survived with the prototype t-virus developed by Birkin and became an executive in the rival company, his evaluation was battered. To establish his position, he hired Ada Wong who brought information that the G-virus was nearing completion but the developer was refusing to give it to Umbrella.

On December 27, Albert Wesker led the rival company's private special forces unit H.C.F. (Hive/Host Capture Force) on an airstrike and ground assault of Umbrella's base on Rockfort Island in order to abduct Alexia Ashford, believed to be scheduled to awaken on the island based on information acquired by a spy planted on the island. 1

In 2001, Wesker contacted the South American drug lord Javier Hidalgo posing as a virus broker. He offered him t-Veronica as a means to cure his daughter afflicted with the same disease that killed his wife. Desperate, he purchased the virus in exchage for a large sum of money and a systematic structure of collusion for orotecting mutual interests. 2 3

In 2003, Albert Wesker stole the Umbrella Archive and the perfected t-virus from the Caucasus Laboratory. The rival company made a deal with the U.S. government and he became an anonymous witness in the Raccoon Trial with evidence from the Umbrella Archive proving the company's guilt, but kept out B.O.W. data and the critical virus manufacturing processes. 4

In 2004, Umbrella Corp's bankruptcy was declared, but the rival company's rise was shortlived. Evidence was obtained proving that the year before, Albert Wesker had contacted TRICELL Inc. and provided the t-virus and t-Veronica to [[Excella Gionne[[. Following this, B.O.W. development was mainly led by TRICELL and the rival company's top brass began fearing Wesker would burn up the organization from the inside if left unchecked.
