"South American Bat" is the term applied to the bats accidentally infected with the t-virus by the Sacred Snakes. Similar to the infected Bat species recorded in both Raccoon City and Rockfort Island, this particular bat species is native to South America. 1 2
History
These bats were recorded in 2002 during Operation Javier. They are fruit eaters by nature and sucked the nectar from plants infected with the t-virus, subsequently becoming infected themselves.
Attributes
They are similar to the bats recorded on Rockfort Island, tending to attack their prey in groups and acting as a single organism while in the air. The virus infection has altered their diet to include meat.
