Private Anti-Bioterrorism Unit

The "Private Anti-Bioterrorism Unit" (or Private Anti-Biohazard Unit) was a civilian-organized regional NGO which operated as a Special Forces unit. The unit's mission was to strike down any bioterrorism and it was particularly anti-Umbrella, essentially making it an anti-Umbrella military unit. The unit was comprised of a small and elite field group of civilians trained to carry out operations. Its members had learnt of the dark side of Umbrella and most of them were direct or indirect victims of their illegal experiments. It was financed by rival pharmaceutical companies of Umbrella. Even though it was a private NGO, its funding enabled it to possess military-grade weapons and equipment. It was the precursor organization of the BSAA.

History

Following the Raccoon City incident, a private unit with branches around the world was established to combat bioterroism and contain biohazards caused by the leak of bio-weapons manufactured by the Umbrella CorporationChris Redfield and Jill Valentine joined the unit following the Raccoon City incident in order to continue their fight against Umbrella.

Operation T-A.L.O.S. (February 18, 2003)

In February 2003, the Russian Government received intelligence which was leaked by Albert Wesker indicating that the Russian branch of the Umbrella Corporation was developing a new B.O.W. The government deployed the Russian branch of the Private Anti-Bioterrorism Unit to raid the Caucasus Laboratory, with Chris and Jill taking part. Although many members were killed by the B.O.W.s in the facility, the survivors managed to secure the perimeter of the facility and Chris and Jill successfully destroyed T-A.L.O.S.

Later in 2003, the anti-bioterrorism unit became one of the foundations of the newly established BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) which was financed by the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium. Chris and Jill became founding members of the new organization.
