There were orders from the boss today.
An investigation into the remains of a laboratory in the Arklay Mountains is necessary, and we seem to be in charge.
The movement is divided into two groups, and the advance party seems to have begun investigation of abandoned test subjects and waste products.
July 16
It's regrettable that we were forced to temporarily interrupt the research of the prototype B.O.W. "type-y139" for this investigation. But even so, "type-y139"...
Many unknown parts remain, and the reactions of the t-Virus on crustaceans is also very interesting as a subject of research. Even with a small amount of "t" dosage, depending on the species and cultivation environment, it has transformation elements which may be materialized as a weapon if controlled; the whole body becomes remarkably tough and grows enormous, with an abnormal propagation of internal toxins and development of intelligence.
However, the simultaneous development of a sudden carapace causes a loss of strength problem.
A particular part becomes vulnerable, to a surprising extent.
This part can be called a major problem, as it is the exterior shell of the head.
Was similar research also done at the laboratory in our destination? There should be some things there, like research data and samples, that would likely become hints for future experiments.

My anxiety increases as the scheduled day draws near......
Every day, the newspapers and TV of Raccoon City report bizarre murder cases occuring in the outskirts.
It couldn't be the virus? If that's how it is...
No... I can't think about that now.
I will concentrate on preparation so that the investigation will go forward as planned.

今日、上司から指示があった。
アークレイ山中の研究所跡の調査が必要になり、我々が担当する事になったらしい。
移動は二班に分かれ、先発隊は遺棄実験体や廃棄物の調査を始めているそうだ。
7月16日
残念なのは、この調査のために、試作B.O.W.「type-y139」の研究を、一時的にでも中断せざるを得なくなった事だ。「type-y139」もそうだが･･･
甲殻類のt-ウィルスに対する反応は未知の部分も数多く残されており、研究対象として、実に興味深い。極少量の「t」の投与でも、種類や育成環境によっては、全身の著しい硬質・巨大化、体内毒素の異常繁殖、知能の発達など、うまく制御すれば、兵器として成立しうる変態要素を兼ね備えているのだ。
だが、急激な甲殻の発達は、同時に強度の低下という問題も引き起こす。
特定の部位については、意外な程に弱くなってしまうのだ。
その部位が、頭部の外殻だという事も、大きな問題と言える。
目的地の研究所でも、同種の研究を行っていたのだろうか？研究データやサンプルなど、以後の実験のヒントになりそうなものがあれば良いのだが。

予定の日が近づくにつれて、不安が増す･･････。
ラクーンシティのTVや新聞は、連日のように郊外で発生している猟奇殺人事件を報道しているらしい。
まさかとは思うが、ウィルスが？だとすれば･･･。
いや･･･今は考えても仕方がない。
調査を予定通りに進められる様、準備に専念しよう。
