"Monster Steve" was the mutated form of Steve Burnside after being injected with the t-Veronica virus. 1 2 3
History
After being captured by Alexia Ashford in the Umbrella Antarctic Base, Steve was subjected to an administration experiment with the t-Veronica virus. Following injection his cells failed to fuse with the virus and his body underwent a grotesque transformation into a large monster. Out of instinctual obedience to Alexia (fully fused with the virus and now capable of controlling lower creatures as a "Queen"), Steve began to attack Claire Redfield. Somehow, Steve was able to resist Alexia's order and retain his will, reverting to his human form after being seriously injured and dying.
Steve's corpse was retrieved from the Antarctic Base by Albert Wesker. In addition, the birth of Monster Steve played a huge role in subsequent B.O.W. development results. His corpse was taken to "The Organization" by Wesker and it was used for research and development of various B.O.W.s including the Jabberwock S3. 4
Attributes
After mutating, Steve's skin turned green like a reptile's and his back hunched as his spine grew to enormous size, pushing out and becoming visible beneath his skin. His muscles became very large and strong which allowed him to wield an axe the size of his own monstrous body and easily pulverise a stone statue with a single swing. He also gained an unexpectedly high level of jumping ability.
