Kevin Ryman was an officer of the Raccoon City Police Department known for his gambling habits. He is a dyed-in-the-wool optimist who doesn't dwell on petty matters, with a can-do attitude that can grate those who do not share his optimism or casual nature, and he can be seen as somewhat reckless and cocky. He is on the J's Bar black list for being a bad drunk that doesn't pay.
History
A regular at J's Bar, Ryman could normally be seen in his off-duty hours racking up a tab at the bar and continuing his disastrous losing streak at darts. He is a skilled, athletic and determined police officer, but due to his friendly, casual, happy-go-lucky attitude, Ryman failed the S.T.A.R.S. entrance exam twice despite his skills. His marksmanship was renowned as one of the best in the R.P.D. after winning numerous awards and competitions. He was a night watchman for the R.P.D. building itself, and his standard issue clothing is the newly issued armoured uniform of the R.P.D. Kevin was also an acquaintence of Leon S. Kennedy, who was also set to join the R.P.D.
While off-duty and casually drinking in J's Bar, he was one of eight survivors within the bar to become entangled in the t-virus outbreak in Raccoon City. At some point, Ryman aided the young survivor Yoko Suzuki, and taught her how to properly use a handgun. After escaping from the city, Kevin moved to Miami, Florida.
