The Ivan was an early custom derivative of the Tyrant (T-103 Type) which was re-engineered to serve as the personal bodyguard of Sergei Vladimir. 1
History
Using a T-103 specimen as a base, Sergei managed to modify the Tyrant to better assimilate with human society and serve as his personal bodyguard and escort. The result was a highly developed and intelligent Tyrant that in some ways surpassed the mass produced model. Initially, only one model was developed bearing an orange HMD device. Sometime after 1998, Sergei produced another Ivan bearing a blue HMD. 2
Both Ivans were destroyed by Albert Wesker at the Caucasus Laboratory.
Attributes
Ivan maintains the standard issue protective limiter coat that is common with the T-103 line, although to distinguish the Ivan from normal T-103s, its limiter coat is white rather than green. This also highlights it as a custom type similar to Tyrant C which bears a red limiter coat. Since it is still just a T-103 at the core, Ivan also has the ability to transform into a "Super Tyrant" if the situation calls for it. However, neither of the only two Ivans recorded ever reached this mutation. Other improvements included greater powers of comprehension and ability to pass as human. Its basic combat functionality and abilities are still those of a T-103 Tyrant. 3
One addition that differentiates Ivan from an average T-103 Tyrant is the use of a HMD (head mounted display) fitted over the Ivan's head. This aids it in combat by providing it with information feedback and details in the middle of battle. The HMD is the only distinguishing characteristic between both Ivan models; one is blue whilst the other is orange. In battle, the two Ivans exhibit perfect teamwork and co-ordination. They also have enough intelligence to operate weaponry, at least mounted weapons. 4
The Ivan with the orange HMD is dubbed "Ivan A" whilst the one with the blue HMD is dubbed "Ivan B". 5
