History
Early History
In 1996, HUNK attended the military training facility on Rockfort Island and was assigned to the U.S.S., an elite private unit under the direct control of Umbrella Corporation executives. He participated in many operations where he became infamous for often being the only surviving agent. This exceptional circumstance earned him the nickname "Grim Reaper HUNK." His high survival rate was rivaled only by Nikolai Zinoviev, an Umbrella surveillance agent.
G-Virus Seizure Operation (Sept. 15-30, 1998)
On September 15, 1998, HUNK received orders from Umbrella France branch facility director Christine Henry to lead a U.S.S. squad and infiltrate Raccoon City in order to seize the G-virus from its developer, William Birkin. 5 HUNK led the Alpha Team and infiltrated the city. On September 20, they successfully infiltrated the sewers and performed recon, and finally penetrated Dr. Birkin's laboratory. Due to the actions of a teammate, Dr. Birkin was gravely injured and HUNK procured a case containing samples of the t-virus and G-virus and left the laboratory. However, Dr. Birkin had kept a G-virus sample in his pocket and injected himself with it, becoming a creature known only as "G."
The new organism tracked down and wiped out HUNK's team in the sewers. The t-virus was leaked in the process, but HUNK managed to survive the attack. Over the next week, HUNK's precise movements are unknown. On September 29, a rookie police officer named Leon S. Kennedy threw away a sample of the G-virus that was recovered by the spy Ada Wong from the pendant of Sherry Birkin. HUNK recovered the sample and contacted U.S.S. helicopter pilot NIGHT HAWK to arrange an extraction on the heliport of the R.P.D. (Raccoon Police Department). He fought his way through the infested sewers and police station and successfully escaped.
NIGHT HAWK bitterly remarked about HUNK once again being the only surviving agent, but HUNK did not respond and simply played with the G-virus sample in his palm. After making his way to Loire Village, HUNK turned over the G-virus to representatives of the Umbrella France branch.
Return to Rockfort Island (Late 1998)
After the successful recovery of the G-virus, HUNK was charged with transportation of "T-078", a Tyrant (T-103 Mass Produced Type) to Rockfort Island, and wrote a report to Alfred Ashford reminiscing about his time at the facility 6. In this letter, he also issued a complaint as to the usage of his team in such a potentially dangerous mission with a lack of briefing on the contents on the capsule, which could have potentially put him and his team at risk. While he paid verbal and written respects to Ashford, he had some unfavorable opinions of him.
His whereabouts and status after 1998 are unknown.
