The Evil Shade was a plant species which was secondarily exposed to the t-virus.
History
Following the incident in the private hospital in the Arklay Mountains in 1993, the plants which grew around the abandoned building were exposed to traces of the t-virus which was being used in administration experiments. The majority of the Evil Shade plants grew on the rooftop of the hospital, and quickly covered the entire area.
Attributes
The original plant species remains unknown, however after infection, the plant began to produce a poisonous gas in its inflated bulbs which could be used to poison and kill prey. By taking over the rooftop the plants were able to maximise their chances of obtaining food with plenty of passing prey available. They could be destroyed by creating a herbicide mixture and injecting it into the plants stem or using an explosive cocktail that disintegrated the structure of the plant.
