The Crow as an irregular mutant first surfaced in the Arklay Mountains, having been exposed to the t-virus. Since then, it is a common sight in many areas where a biohazard caused by the virus is prevalent.
History
The American Crow is a common sight in the U.S. mainly due to bird's adaptability to nearly any environment. The crow can be found throughout mainland America as well as numerous islands scattered along the coast. A major factor in the Crow's success is down to their diet. Being omnivorous, Crows have been known to feed off nearly every food type and subsequently thrived in all terrains. The American Crow will live and breed in vast flocks and can be seen in great numbers.
No doubt a major contributor in to several recorded viral outbreaks, as soon as one crow became infected with the virus it would spread through the many crows that inhabited the Arklay Mountains and Raccoon City itself. Upon infection a crow will go berserk and begin to attack any living creature. Unlike many creatures the virus does not have an effect on the bird's size. Instead the animal's predatory instincts are greatly increased, changing its diet to be primarily carnivorous.
The crow was a common sight during the outbreaks in the Arklay Mountains, Raccoon Forest and Raccoon City. Virus infected crows were also spotted in the Umbrella Research Center as well as Sheena Island.
Attributes
The crow is a normally docile bird, but due to the circumstances of viral a outbreak, a number of crows are usually infected. Their infection shows no major physical variations aside from red tinted eyes, but their behaviour has been greatly altered and they gain a blood thirsty appetite for flesh. Crows are extremely common and as such huge flocks of them became infected after scavenging off infected flesh from other t-virus infected creatures. Generally, they do not attack until provoked but will use every element at their disposal to take down a source of food by any means necessary. They have been observed to directly swoop straight into a victim, essentially stabbing them with their beaks. They have also been known to flock around the victim and essentially peck them to death.
The American Crow is the obvious candidate for the "Crow" with the same cry of the bird.
