The Chicago Laboratory was one of the clandestine laboratories belonging to the Umbrella Corporation, and one of the main components of the American branch of Umbrella located in Chicago, Illnois.
History
In 1994, a researcher from the Chicago branch known as John Clemens was transferred from the Chicago Laboratory to the Arklay Laboratory to assist in the development of the t-virus as the new chief researcher. By at least 1998, researchers at the laboratory regularly attended meetings with William Birkin of the Raccoon City branch on the 4th Friday of every other month, including lectures and training seminars. On July 24, 1998, the results of the combat data collected from the B.O.W.s in the Arklay Laboratory was announced to the Chicago branch by Birkin in one such meeting.
