Title

Bitores Mendez

Bitores Mendez was a member of the Los Illuminados and the chief of a certain village in Southern Europe. He was one of the main conspirators behind the kidnapping of Ashley Graham and the incident which arose from it. He was a huge man with a long narrow beard, dressed in a trench coat. He was a loyal servant who carried out the wishes of Osmund Saddler, whom he deeply revered and respected. His left eye was a glass eye that also functioned as the key to the Salazar Castle gate. This was also proof that he protected the cult from outside enemies, with he himself acting as a barrier. 1 2

History

At some point, Mendez met Osmund Saddler, the current leader of the Los Illuminados cult. He was charmed by his charisma, and became a loyal servant. After Saddler convinced Ramon Salazar to release the Plaga parasite, Mendez was administered with the dominant species. Unlike the common subordinate species, the dominant species allowed him to maintain full control of his will and granted him physical strength greater than that of normal men. One Sunday, he called the village together at the church where Saddler gave a sermon which lasted for hours. Soon after, Mendez co-ordinated the "blood cleansing ritual", which involved administering the parasite to the entire village. The villagers became "Ganado", and were controlled by Mendez.

In Autumn 2004, upon hearing that American agent Leon S. Kennedy was coming to the village to investigate, Mendez notified the villagers (now Ganado) and increased the village's alert level. Soon after Kennedy's arrival, Mendez captured him along with Luis Sera. When he next encountered Kennedy, upon Saddler's instructions, he let him go upon noticing that he was been infected. Soon after, Kennedy attempted to confront him, but Mendez struck him down. Preparing to kill him, he was interrupted after being shot by Ada Wong, who he soon captured.

Later, he interfered with Kennedy's movement, waiting for the parasite to grow to adult size. However, he became worried at Kennedy's multiple attempts to break the siege, and decided to kill him in order to protect Saddler's plan. In the process, he was caught in an explosion and the parasite within his body began to induce a mutation. With the power of his parasite fully unleashed, his exposed vertebra completely combined with the Plaga, and he became a centipede-like creature. The two large front legs on his back were very strong, and Mendez could shred his enemies into pieces with the giant claws which formed on them. Mendez also had extremely dogged vitality, even when the vertebra was broken, he could still perform with half of his body. Despite his power, he was killed by Kennedy.
