"Let's talk frankly. We value and appreciate your abilities. And this won't be bad for you. To make everything go peacefully, you have only one choice.
Leon closed his eyes and replied.
CLAIRE REDFIELD
"Leave Sherry behind with me."
When Claire Redfield heard what Leon said, she couldn't believe her ears.
"Leon, why?"
"You're looking for your brother, right?"
That weakened Sherry and injured Leon were in need of immediate medical care.
But she had no additional time to spare.
"I... will defiantly come back. I promise!"
Claire disappeared into the wilderness alone.
SHERRY BIRKIN
"Do you have any relatives?"
The army officer asked her with a soft voice, but Sherry Birkin didn't answer.
The girl doesn't have any relatives now.

This little girl held herself with her arms, and tightly bit her small lips.

Sherry felt very lonely, and the red jacket left from Claire, has become the only thing that represents the bond between the two girls.

The pilot spoke bitterly after realizing the only soldier he recovered was HUNK.
"As always, only you survived. Even in such a hellish battlefield."
HUNK did not answer, but took out the capsule and began playing with it in his palm.
Hell is the Grim Reaper's territory.
"The Grim Reaper cannot die......"
The survivor shows a faint smile.

『クレア、すまない』
クリス・レッドフィールドは何度目かの手紙をいつもの言葉で締めくくった。
サングラスをはずしてカフェの暖かい日差しに目を細めると目の前を娘が軽やかに通り過ぎていく。
・・・・・・年の頃は妹と同じであろうか。
その後クリスは自分の行方を追い妹が戦いに身を投じている事実を知った。
BARRY BURTON
バリー・バートンは幼い娘達の前にかがみ込むとゆっくりとかぶりをふった。
「すまない、仲間が待っている」
一度は家族のため、裏切りに手を染めようとしたこともあった。
それが仲間に許された時、男は家族と離れても信頼に報いる意志を固めたのだ。
「あなた、私達は大丈夫・・・・・・」
妻は花のような笑みを浮かべ、精いっぱいの背伸びで夫にくちづけした。

レオン・スコット・ケネディはアメリカ政府情報局員を名乗る男を前にしていた。
「俺を殺すのか・・・・・・」
男がゆるく唇を笑みの形にゆがませる。
「シェリーはよせ。あの子に罪はない」
「ああ、だが知り過ぎている」
男は目線を上げレオンの顔を正面から見すえた。
「率直に言う。我々は君の能力を高く評価している。悪い話ではない。穏便にすませるなら選択は一つだ」
レオンは目を閉じ、そして答えた。

「俺とシェリーを置いていくんだ」
クレア・レッドフィールドはレオンの言葉に耳を疑った。
「レオン、どうして？」
「君は兄貴を探しているんだろう？」
負傷しているレオンと衰弱したシェリーは一刻も早い保護を必要としている。

少女は自身の両腕で身体を抱きしめると小さな唇をかみしめた。
きっと戻ってきてくれる・・・・・・。
孤独なシェリーにとってクレアの残した赤い革ジャケットだけがただひとつ残された人との絆であった。

女は鏡に映る自身の姿を見つめていた。
エイダ・ウォンと呼ばれた女・・・・・・。
しかしその名前に別れを告げる朝が訪れていた。
次の任務まで、あと数刻。

わき腹には真新しい裂傷があった。
女がエイダであった時愛した男を守るために受けた傷である。

「またあんただけかよ、死神」
回収した唯一の兵士がハンクであることがわかると
ヘリのパイロットは毒づくように言った。
「いつもだ、あんただけが生き延びる。
どんな地獄のような戦場でもな」
ハンクはパイロットには応えず、回収したカプセルを掌に取り出して
もてあそんだ。
地獄は死神の領域である。
「死神は死なず、か・・・・・・」
生還者はかすかな笑みを浮かべていた。
