The daughter of President Graham. She was kidnapped by the Los Illuminados cult and brought to Spain in 2004, where she was later rescued by Leon S. Kennedy.
History
Before Kidnapping
In Autumn 2004, Ashley Graham was kidnapped while on her way home from Massachusetts State College by a mysterious group which seemed to have ties to her personal security detail. The kidnapping was kept secret to all but a handful of people. Since the kidnapping seemed to involve someone who worked in her security detail, several members of the Secret Service and active duty agents were detained and held for questioning. Intelligence reports indicated that Ashley was sighted in Europe, although this information was suspect as it could be misdirection from whoever was working with the kidnappers.
The kidnapper was Jack Krauser, a former U.S. SOCOM operative who seemingly defected to the Los Illuminados organization. Using his knowledge of Ashley's personal schedule and routine, he was easily able to secure her and bring her to the Illuminados cult. At the time of her kidnapping, Leon S. Kennedy was scheduled to join her Secret Service detail, but because of his lack of access to Ashley prior to the kidnapping and thus, lack of suspiscion, Leon was instead dispatched to find her.
Held Captive
Following her kidnapping, Ashley was administered a Las Plagas parasite as part of the Illuminados' plot.
The Illuminados organization had intended to take control over the United States, and eventually, the world. By using Ashley as a host, the organization would gain total control over what her actions would be. She was to be sent back to the United States and would spread the Plagas infection to key personnel. Osmund Saddlers goal was to infect members of the Justice Department, Administrative bodies, and the military, hoping to control the minds of the people who advise President Graham.
Initially, Ashley was held captive at an old house beyond the farming pens in the village. However, after Leon S. Kennedy arrived in the village, she was moved to a more secure and better fortified location, the church. After being rescued by Leon, the
pair made their way through the village and found a pathway to a medieval castle. Before entering the castle's main room, Luis, a renegade researcher for the Illuminados, convinced Ashley to admit that both her and Leon were infected with the Plagas eggs. Realizing that the eggs had already hatched due to their coughing up blood, Luis went off to search for pills which would slow the parasite's growth.
After going inside, Ashley fell victim to one of the castle's various traps while distressing over the side effects of her Plagas infection. Stuck to a wall, she waited until Leon could find her. While releasing Ashley from her binds, Leon provided cover fire while Ashley escaped into a maze-like room. After solving several puzzles, Ashley and Leon reunited again and continued their progress through the castle. Realizing that their plans we're quickly crumbling around them, Ramon Salazar, the Castellan of the castle, sent a Novistador to reacquire Ashley.
With Ashley back in his custody, Salazar initiated a ritual which involved a gigantic plant-like Plagas creature. The details of the ritual are unknown, but its speculated that the act of performing the ritual on an infectee results in them gaining a special power over the Plagas inside their body. After the ritual was complete, Jack Krauser took Ashley on a high speed boat to the mercenary island stronghold where Osmund Saddler resided. Saddler had ordered Krauser to get custody over Ashley to further slow Leon's progress.
While on the Island, Ashley was detained in a small filing room. Seeing this on a security monitor, Leon quickly found Ashley and the pair were once again reunited. Continuing their way through the mercenary complex, Leon and Ashley we're stopped by Osmund Saddler, who took control over Ashley, causing her eyes to turn red and forcing her to obey his every command. Saddler left Leon writhing in pain on the floor as he and Ashley left.
Under his total control, Ashley followed and obeyed all of Saddlers commands. Saddler took this time to place Ashley in an unknown device. Leon arrived at this base and freed Ashley. Realizing that time was almost up, Leon and Ashley removed their Plagas infection using a special device which was housed in the basement of the labs. Free from infection, the pair then went to a construction site where Leon battled a mutated Osmund Saddler. After Saddlers defeat, Leon grabbed Ashley and the pair escaped on a jet ski which Ada had left them. Barely escaping the destruction of the island, Leon and Ashley made their way to the mainland to return home.
