I saw those pictures today.
TerraSave posted some pictures on their home page; they are photos of the victims who died from WilPharma's clinical trial carried out in India.
Why did they do such cruel things like this? And why was there no one to stop them, before all these poor people were murdered?
Apparently, this is outside the confines of a clinical trial.
If all of these are true, I'll never forgive WilPharma's atrocities, even though they did them with the permission of the law.
TerraSave also gave a warning that in the condition that the state government cannot launch an investigation and measure out harsh justice to WilPharma, they will directly appeal to the International Criminal Court.
My Dear,
I think I really should’ve listened more to your father...
Especially when he talked about WilPharma, I should’ve...
I have to find out the truth.
Why did WilPharma choose to carry out their clinical trial in India?
Why did they keep doing these terrible things until now?

Today, the chief asked me out to have a dinner.
Apparently, someone informed him about me investigating into WilPharma. I knew this would happen.
Since your father was arrested for breaking into WilPharma's headquarters, they seemed to be unhappy with me.
Of course, it can be understood that no matter who will feel uncomfortable for having a criminal's sister as their police colleague.
I always think it scorn to their immature offence until today.
But it will be different if this kind of behaviour goes beyond my personal problem and gets my men involved; only this cannot be allowed.
While being in my team, they always said they had given up to promotion and its good enough not.
But the higher the rank is, the more money you make. They all have a family to feed, and really shouldn't feel happy for this.
I should never accept their kindness, never.
At that time, Curtis set himself against WilPharma, he discovered something suspicious about their research, and wanted to make it public.
If only for this, I don't think he did anything wrong, even until now.
But I have to admit that Curtis crossed the line.
Though it's hard to accept, but his arrest is fair and reasonable.
If I can't make a clear distinction between right and wrong on this, then I am not entitled to stay on this position.

The development of a new medicinal drug costs a huge amount of money and time.
The researchers must compound different chemicals, and experiment on animals time after time. It can be applied to clinical trial only when its safety is ensured.
Almost 10 billion dollars is invested with 10 years’ time being devoted, it is meant to reap more profits, and however, there are some financial risks.
The lower risks the better.
So, everyone is trying to reduce the money and time cost for development to the lowest level to reduce these risks.
Carrying out clinical trials in foreign countries is an important part of this policy. Especially Asia.
The labour is cheap and sufficient out there and has a lot more people to work with. This reason was posted on one company’s home page.
However, it is not only WilPharma that is operating their company like this; many other pharmaceutical companies are doing the same thing.
So, in the countless clinical trials they are carrying out, even though more death happens in the future, nothing will be changed. Since so many other companies are doing clinical tests, should an incident like WilPharma’s occur it affects several other companies as well, therefore it makes sense for them to be quiet about it.
Because so many other companies are doing the same, we cannot place all the blame solely on WilPharma.
Curtis... I'm sure he is still insisting on something...
WilPharma is still keeping their mouths shut obstinately; this incident didn’t even become a subject talked among the citizens, and is almost on the edge of being forgotten.

Today, some people have been arrested.
6 college students who came here from the East attempting to protest and accuse WilPharma, got into an argument with a carpenter while they were having some drinks and it turned into a fist fight.
This place is different from those large cities. It may be unfair for these college students, but accusing WilPharma in this town is not a good idea.
To the residents here, WilPharma is something people admire but not accuse. It was the company which brought hope and wealth to this small, old town that was almost dying 10 years ago.
Without WilPharma, the economy of this city would never reach today's achievement. The economical influence that WilPharma is bringing to this town is vast.
However, there are also some snotty idiots like Davis here; he probably will be chosen as the representative of the town and citizens to attend the election in D.C.
This town has changed; everything now is different from the childhood of me and your father.
Curtis, where are you now?
26/8/2005
I'm not on duty today, so I came to D.C.
Through one of my old colleague’s recommendation, I met a man who is a researcher in charge of the development department of a pharmaceutical enterprise.
According to him, in the clinical trials, the possibility of massive side effect incidents like WilPharma’s case is extremely low.
But he couldn’t deny the possibility that it could happen.
In fact, there was a mysterious case that occurred during his early years as a researcher where there seemed to be only one death in the clinical trials.
He hesitated and didn't tell me more details about the case, and turned to another topic.
Although it was just a casual remark, when I joked that the drug which they tested on when the mysterious case happened is perhaps actually sold in drug stores now, he just smiled a bitter smile to me.
WilPharma, and that incident, have apparently become a subject often talked about in the pharmaceutical industry.
If another serious incident like that is exposed to the public, it will be a death-blow to the whole company, WilPharma definitely knows that, but there must be some other reasons for them to keep silent.
Meanwhile, a rumour that WilPharma has signed a secret contract with the Pentagon is running among the citizens.
Though it is just a rumour after all, and they haven’t heard anything else about it.

It has been a long time since I came to D.C. last time, so I went to Cato's bar.
"This bar is like a candle in the wind", he still complained to me with his poor English. He hasn’t changed since I last saw him at all.
I met quite an interesting man in that bar while I was there.
He and his family are from Mexico, and apparently they are millionaires. He told me proudly he had travelled round 132 countries till now.
Here he found a job, working as a driver who drives rental cars abandoned by customers back to the offices of the rent-a-car companies they belong to.
“I get paid for travelling all around the States”, he said.
An idea flashed across my mind, so I asked whether he had seen your father, and he answered flatly and honestly - "NO".
Of course he hadn't.

The news about that town was reported again, it has been a while since last time. It seems they are doing the memorial service this year again.
Before winter comes, a ceremony will place every year to lament the victims in that disaster.
To this day, about 100 miles around that city is off limits to people, it's a nameless and forsaken city.
About the incident occurred in that city, the government and congress are still keeping on their investigation and researching the town.
But nothing has been announced to the public, even to us survivors.
7 years has passed since that incident.
Time keeps passing us by, but I still remember the happy days with you that we spent together like they were yesterday, they never fade away in my mind.
Today, I got a phone call from an old friend.
It seems that he got my address through one of our mutual friends after I came back from D.C. several days ago.
He told me that he is now the father of 3 little girls, and has settled down completely.
We had quite a long talk, he said I should accept what happened in the past and should have a good life and start searching for my own happiness.
Maybe he is right and I haven't made freed myself from the shadows of the past.
But how can I just accept this past and get over it, when I know nothing about the truth of what happened?
I can’t do that; I can’t just pretend that I’m fine with it.
13/9/2005
Today, I came to your house with a real estate agent to have an assessment.
In the end, nothing unusual was discovered.
Its night now and I'm lying on your bed where we used to sleep together. This really brings back so many memories to me.
17/9/2005
Finally I had a chance to meet an official of TerraSave.
When Curtis was still working here for them, this man was the Secretary General, chief of its Service Bureau.
I never liked him; he was a really annoying guy in the past and always acts as if he is really smart.
However, I thought he would know some details behind WilPharma’s clinical trials in India, and intended to obtain them from him.
But he somehow thought I was a spy sent by the Harvardville police.
People who dare to fight against WilPharma will find it hard to live in this city, he knows that.
He knows that this town is closed for those with different views.
Because of this, he misunderstood that the purpose of fishing information from WilPharma's biggest opponent was I wanted to redeem myself from my brother's reputation by trying to show off what I got to them by asking questions to TerraSave.
In the end, I couldn’t ask him anything I really wanted to ask, and was just sitting there.
What the hell was I doing...?
29/9/2005
Today, I went out drinking with my SRT comrades for welcoming the new guy who just joined our team.
Greg was drunk, and he said something he always says when he is drunk.
“Curtis’ actions and what he did was a bit too much, but he wasn’t wrong and did the right thing.
If I lost someone important like he did, and then knew a same tragedy would probably happen again, I would do whatever it takes to stop it, whether I am in danger of getting arrested or not.
In this condition, if going up to confront someone that is causing it is the only way, I would have an impulse to go to their headquarters and question them about all of this, just like he did.
Even though to people all around the city Curtis may just be an alcoholic past all redemption who gets into fights with anyone he doesn’t like, I remember him as a decent doctor who saved lives.”
It wasn’t the best subject to talk about in front of a newcomer, so I didn’t continue. I didn't have a chance to talk with the new guy, a little disappointing.
But it felt good to know there is someone who still believes in him.
7/10/2005
I got a phone call from that TerraSave guy I met last time this morning.
He told me he saw Curtis, they just passed each other but he was certain that it was Curtis.
He saw him entering the Savoy Hotel in Chicago.
I ended up yelling at him that there won’t be any other place besides her that he would come back. “There is no another place for him to live, is there?!”
I just couldn't help but blame myself.
9/10/2005
Curtis' name was not on the guest list of the Savoy Hotel.
But a housekeeper told me she saw a man who was quite similar to Curtis, after I showed her his photo.
She said that man was staying in room 1438.
According to this information, I went to the reception desk again.
I got the address of the man who stayed in room 1438 from the traveller’s form, it was from St. Louis.
So I made a call to St. Louis to ask about, but I was told that the address didn't exist at all.
The thing I've been seeking is really like a phantom.
23/10/2005
I received a letter this morning; the sender is your good friend.
His name is Forrest, do you remember him?
He wrote you the letter because he heard the name “Harvardville” while listening to the news on the WilPharma incident, and it reminded him of you.
He said that because his father got transferred on business, his family moved to Chicago a year after you left this town.
It's really a pity I don't know very much about him.
He said his dream is to become a doctor and his objective is a good doctor like your father.
It seems that he is going to come visit this town with friends at the end of the year.
At this moment, I'm reading this letter time and time again, trying to forget everything for now.
An image of your appearance that I'm not familiar with came to my mind, thinking of the part of you that I didn’t know because it makes me happy for a short time.
At this moment, my heart fills with the taste of happiness.
Good night.

Davis came to visit our Chief today.
He stormed into the office, no idea what happened. He had a furious look.
I am assuming his purpose might be asking for us to strengthen the patrol around the WilPharma buildings and his own house.
Since the three main networks reported WilPharma's clinical trials yesterday, this city seems to have become a little restless.
I heard a rumour that TerraSave is planning a mass demonstration soon.
7/11/2005
We’ve been having so many meetings around these days, one after another.
TerraSave is planning to hold a protest demonstration before the Conference of the American Medical Drug Association, which will be held a week from now.
This made the chief very nervous.
But this city didn't change at all.
Most of the citizens still keep silent about it, like it doesn't matter to them at all...
No matter how the networks or mass media publicized this incident, it seemed like the citizen’s lives are not influenced at all.
If the report is stopped, it will come to an end very soon.
Thanks to that, as a police officer, today's work also ended without a hitch.
Thank God.
The whole city is still in peace, as always.
